AQUINO III President Republic of the Philippines Malacañan Palace, Manila Metro Manila His Excellency: Greetings of peace! May we respectfully furnish your good office a scanned copy of our Petition to the MILF Leadership, a position paper resolved during the Bangsamoro Leaders Peace Summit held on June 7, 2015 in Cotabato City convened by the League of Bangsamoro Organizations The said Summit was participated in by 509 leaders representing 137 organizations from all sectors of the Bangsamoro people in Mindanao such as youth, professionals, women, academe, sultanates, political leaders, religious, indigenous people, business, farmers, labors, transport, communication, students among others. The participating leaders unanimously agreed to urge the leadership of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), being the vanguard of the Bangsamoro people, to reject a watered down Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), which is contrary to the letter and spirit of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro and would render the would- be Bangsamoro government ARMM-less, inutile, and further disunite us. Thus, they called upon the MILF leadership to pursue the original aspiration of the Bangsamoro people for Independence. In the name of lasting peace and progress in Mindanao, we appeal to your leadership to pass an undiluted BBL which is CAB-compliant. Accept the assurances of our people for your highest esteem and considerations. Thank you. Very truly yours, OMBRA A. IMAM, Ed.D. Deputy Secretary General for External Affairs
