After a slightly shaky start to the bingo, the morning got off to a roaring success. Many thanks to Mrs Reeves, Mrs Keller and Mrs Datson for keeping the kitchen running smoothly and providing a succession of tasty treats. Thank you to the students who helped out by decorating the tables, taking orders and assisting during the bingo. I think we can all agree that it was a special morning and a wonderful way to kick start the Mothers day weekend. I am sure that many mothers, carers and grandmothers were thrilled with their presents that the students purchased form the Mothers Day stall. Again, a big thank you to all those in the GW community that donated to the stall, and to the tireless P&C who wrapped, arranged, assisted in purchasing, bagged and tagged the mountain of gifts. I know the students were very proud of their selections. At GWPS we endeavour to distribute permission notes in a timely manner, giving parents a fortnight notice of impending events. However, sometimes due to circumstances out of our control, we are unable to finalise information in this time frame. Thank you for your understanding and patience regarding this. A reminder that our staff development day is on Tuesday 11th June and that students return to school on Wednesday 12th June. Enjoy the extra extra long weekend! Star Struck Our wonderful Star Struck dancers and Miss Molly have been putting the finishing touches to their performance in preparation for the first major rehearsal at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Thursday 30th May. Please return the permission note as soon as possible. Naplan Online A big shout out to our Year 3 and Year 5 students who have completed their NAPLAN assessments. All students undertook their exams with a positive attitude, which I'm sure was helped by watching a clip of Mr Bean doing an exam!! Great effort, primary. PSSA Soccer Miss Parr and our enthusiastic soccer team are eagerly awaiting their first game against Barrington Public School on the 3rd June. Lunch times have been spent planning tactics and practising drills. Please complete the online permission note as soon as possible. Good luck GWPS!! Mothers Day Morning Tea
