How to Tie Dye T-Shirts.
Materials to make
a Tie-Dye T-Shirt
Plain white t-shirt
Dye bucket scissors
Elastic bands
(string)
dye mixture
gloves
STEP 2: Tie your pattern
You can make different patterns.
A swirl pattern
You can fold the T-shirts in various ways to make lots of different patterns
It is brilliant when you see the lovely patterns you have made on your T-Shirt.
Remember that the darker and more defined you would like your pattern,
the tighter your ‘ties’ should be. Tie your shirt as tight as possible for the
best effect
14
STEP 3: Dye your shirt
Remember that we are working with dye ~ it will stain.
Mix dye with water in bucket following instructions on the
packet.
Put your tied T-shirt into the bucket making sure it is
completely covered/submerged by the water/dye.
Your shirts will be left in the dye bucket for approximately
40 – 50 minutes. You should not take it out before this
time as the dye needs a soaking time. Please continue
with the task 3 while you wait.
STEP 4: Rinsing your shirt
Rinse your shirt out under cold running water.
STEP 5: Reveal your pattern
This is the really exciting bit … you get to finally see your design. Carefully
cut the elastic bands/string ~ take care not to cut the shirt . Keep your
work area neat and tidy. Remember that the dye will stain, even though it
has been rinsed out.
STEP 6: Admire and show-off your work
STEP 7: Washing your T-Shirt
Read this very carefully. Hand wash it first in soap powder. Do not under
any circumstances put the shirt in with other washing for the first few
washes as the dye will most certainly run and stain other shirts. Check first
with your parents/carers & staff before washing the shirt in the washing
machine!
You have been warned!

two stacks: one of red cards and one of black cards.

(Written by Carole King)
When you're down and troubled, and you need a
helping hand
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be
there
To brighten up even your darkest night.
You just call out my name and you know wherever I
am
I'll come running, to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall all you have to do is
call
And I'll be there yes, I will you've got a friend
If the sky above you grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
Soon I’ll be knocking on your door, You just call out
my name. You just call out my name and you know
wherever I am
I'll come running, to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall all you have to do is
call
And I'll be there yes, I will you've got a friend

(from Aladdin 2019 – Written by Pasek and Paul)
Here comes a wave meant to wash me away. A tide
that is taking me under. Swallowing sand left with
nothing to say, my voice drowned out in the thunder.
But I won't cry, and I won't start to crumble,
whenever they try to shut me or cut me down.
I won't be silenced, you can't keep me quiet, won't
tremble when you try it. All I know is I won't go
speechless. 'Cos I'll breathe when they try to
suffocate me, don't you underestimate me. 'Cos I
know that I won't go speechless.
Written in stone every rule, every word, centuries old
and unbending. Stay in your place better seen and
not heard but now that story is ending. 'Cos I, I
cannot start to crumble, so come on and try, try to
shut me and cut me down.
I won't be silenced, you can't keep me quiet, won't
tremble when you try it. All I know is I won't go
speechless.
'Cos I'll breathe when they try to suffocate me,
don't you underestimate me. 'Cos I know that I won't
go speechless.

I call you when I need you, my heart's on fireYou come to me, come to me wild and wired.Oh, you come to me, give me everything I need.Give me a lifetime of promises and a world of dreams.Speak the language of love like you know what it means.Mm, and it can't be wrong, take my heart and make it strong, babe. You're simply the best, better than all the rest.Better than anyone, anyone I ever met.I'm stuck on your heart, I hang on every word you say.Tear us apart, baby, I would rather be dead. Each time you leave me I start losing control; You're walking away with my heart and my soul.I can feel you even when I'm alone.Oh, baby, don't let go.
You're simply the best, better than all the rest.Better than anyone, anyone I ever met.I'm stuck on your heart, I hang on every word you sayTear us apart, baby, I would rather be dead. We’re simply the best!

Making your own skittles is easy and you will end up with a game that you can all enjoy.
You will need:
Plastic drinks bottles Sand to weight the bottle down (water will work) Kitchen funnel (or make one with a cone of paper) PVA (white glue) Acrylic paints and paintbrushes Ball to play
Instructions:
Collect together a number of plastic drinks bottles, preferably of the same size and shape.
Using your funnel, fill each bottle about one third full of sand, earth (dirt) or other weighty material. Now paint around the top of the bottle with the glue and screw the lids on tightly.
Paint your skittles, adding numbers if you wish to allow the possibility of a scoring game, or decide how many points you are going to award for each skittle you knock down.
if you do not have acrylic paint and glue you can just use the plastic bottles and fill them with water. You could just add a splash of food colouring or paint to the water to jazz them up. You can vary the amount of water in the bottles, to make the skittles easier or harder to knock down.
Now line up your skittles, grab your ball and have fun!
38
Making your own Hoopla game is fun and you will end up with a game that you can all play.
You will need: Paper plates scissors Cardboard tube or plastic bottles cellotape Crayons, felts or paint Instructions: Cut the centre from some paper plates to use as your 'rings'.
To make the stand, cut 6 small slits in the bottom of the cardboard tube and flatten the ends, then tape it to the reverse side of a plate so it will stand up.
Decorate your rings and you can also decorate your cardboard tube with crayon’s felt or paint.
Instead of the cardboard tube, you can use plastic bottles for the stands, fill them with water. You could just add a splash of food colouring or paint to the water to jazz them up.
This game works great if you are throwing from close range, but if you want the rings to be thrown from a decent distance the paper plates are not heavy enough. You will need to glue several plates together and wrap the rings in coloured string.
Now grab your hoops and have fun.
39
Materials: 10 Paper plates, coloured felt pens and string or chalk.
Paper plates Noughts and Crosses is a great game to play outside
if it’s a sunny day, but it can work just as well playing on the floor
indoors if it’s a bit rainy! Have fun collecting the materials needed,
and get set to create your very own super sized noughts and
crosses game!
Gather your paper plates and use coloured felt pens or paints to
mark five of the paper plates with crosses and five of the paper
plates with noughts.
Use string to mark out your grid on the grass or alternatively you
can use chalk if you are on a hard service. (If indoors use string).
Make sure each square is big enough for one paper plate to fit
inside.
All that is left to do is challenge another player to a game! The first
player to get a row of three is the winner!
Now you are ready to play!
