1. Mindmap- Introduction to ‘Street Art’. (Styles: Graffiti, stencil/spray paint,
chalk on pavement, street installations).
2. Introduce artists; Banksy, Sten Lex (compare and contrast).
3. Create a graffiti image of your name using either complementary or
harmonious colours.
4. Self-assessment of graffiti ‘tag’ using VCOP sheets.
5. Artist evaluation- Banksy using compare/contrast framework
(PowerPoint).
6. Graffiti on site project: Collaborate with Welsh department. To develop an
inclusive graffiti design using Welsh vocabulary and school ethos.
7. Mind-map- ‘Being Welsh’- words and phrases associated with
values/ethos/culture/symbolism/history of Wales - Link with Welsh
Vocabulary – Objects could be symbolic of Welsh culture.
8. Create design ideas for the Graffiti Stencil to be used in Whole School

The Aztecs - pupils in 8E only
Discover the beauty of Mexico and Mexican culture by taking the virtual tour of
the Mexico gallery in the British Museum – see if you can spot the double-headed
serpent. Link available on Class Teams.
Research the significance of the “Double-headed serpent” to the Aztecs. It is
entirely up to pupils how to present the work – pupils can be as creative as they
like!
