Adeyfield SchoolLearning without Limits
IntroductIonDear parents & carers
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Adeyfield School. This is a most exciting time to be joining the Adeyfield School community, part of the Atlas Multi Academy Trust. As Executive Headteacher I am very optimistic about the potential for Adeyfield to develop well-educated, dignified and aspirational young people, enabling them to take an active role in society.
The spirit of Adyefield is unique; as soon as you set foot into our school you will meet polite, engaging and smart students who are keen to be the very best that they can be and all are very proud of their school.
Staff here go the extra mile. They understand that a good education is certainly about qualifications, but we also need to play our part in opening-up the world to all of our young people, giving them the skills, confidence and courage essential to embrace all opportunities with vigour and a zest for life. We are a school which believes in helping our staff and students discover and continually develop the special skills and talents they have; we are refocusing our attentions to ensure that the curriculum is broad and balanced, meeting the needs of all young people and that high-quality teaching and learning underpins everything that we do.
The crucial home school partnership cannot be underestimated, we aim to develop close working relationships with our parents/carers, so that our young people will work hard to develop their own intellectual curiosity, as well as growing the skills they need to lead happy, healthy and successful lives. We place great emphasis on helping our students become more resilient to life’s setbacks through strong pastoral care and are proud of our traditional values of respect for each other, good manners and a smart appearance.
With our talented and driven team, we will achieve everything you would want for your daughters and sons. We regularly meet students and what is particularly impressive are the comments that come from our Year 7 students. They feel secure, motivated and challenged and without exception, they comment on the quality of relationships with all staff. This is the foundation for success and I look forward to celebrating with you.
There are many opportunities to visit the school throughout the academic year and I look forward to meeting you soon.
Margaret Chapman Executive Headteacher

our studentsTo ensure the best outcomes for all of our children we recruit highly trained, specialist staff that understand how children learn and have a commitment towards their own professional development as well as doing what’s right for the children in and out of the classroom.Student voice plays a crucial role in this school, and their views on policy and systems are always taken into account.
There is a strong focus on reward. We like to catch the children being good. However, there are also clear rules and high expectations that underpin the calm and mutually respectful environment within this school.
Students use the words firm but fair, and that is how we work. Your input as parents in this work plays a crucial role in developing life skills and resilience going forwards.

our currIculumAt Adeyfield we understand that one size does not fit all and our curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of our students.
The learning pathways in place are designed to challenge all of our students and ensure that they can pursue their dreams. For learners who would benefit from additional support there is a transitional programme in place for Year 7 to secure rapid progress.
Our Key Stage 4 programme is bespoke in that it caters to the needs of a particular cohort at any given time and is reviewed regularly to ensure it is fit for purpose.
In our growing sixth form we are able to offer a broad variety of choice in collaboration with our partnership schools and their sixth forms.

Pastoral carePastoral care is an integral part in ensuring young people are supported to be able to learn without limits and achieve their full potential.
We are proud of our dedicated pastoral team who work to ensure every child feels safe, secure and valued.
Our student and parent feedback consistently highlights this aspect of Adeyfield as one of its biggest strengths.
Each student will be assigned to a dedicated form tutor who will become your first point of contact at Adeyfield. They will also have a designated Head of Year who, with the tutor, will work to support, nurture and encourage success throughout their Adeyfield journey.
enrIchmentNo school would be complete without clubs, enrichment activities and trips.
Beyond the school boundaries there are numerous opportunities including exchanges and visits from New York, to the Isle of Wight; gaining experience of the work place to exploring careers for the future. Life as a student at Adeyfield is varied, stimulating and utterly unforgettable.
There is a rich, rewarding and exciting life outside the classroom at Adeyfield. A variety of clubs and activities take place at lunch time and after school and there genuinely is something for everyone. We have a wide and varied extra-curricular programme. We offer a huge variety of clubs that for many of our students will unlock a talent sometimes they did not even know they had. There really is something for everyone!

our sIxth FormAs a school we are extremely proud of our Sixth Form students. They achieve highly in their studies and they contribute hugely to the general life of the school.Teaching and learning in the Sixth Form is engaging, rigorous and stretches students to achieve their full potential. Students make full use of the excellent study area and Learning Resource Centre to develop into independent and reflective learners, supported by the guidance of subject teachers and the Sixth Form pastoral team.
Sixth Form students involve themselves in community and school activities such as working with younger students to improve literacy skills and act as excellent role models to students in younger years, through their embodiment of the school’s core principles.
The programme offered in Sixth Form has enabled all of our students to progress on to the next steps in their chosen path, whether that be Higher Education and University, Higher Level Apprenticeships or employment.
