NOTE(s): ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE DONE INACCORDANCE WITH ALL TOWN OF CARY, WAKE CO., NCDOT,MUTCD STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY EXISTING TOPOGRAPHY IN RELATION TOTHE PROPOSED GRADES TO ENSURE DRAINAGE IN THE DIRECTION INDICATEDON PLANS.
2. INITIATE CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE BEFORE BEGINNING CLEARING ANDGRADING ON-SITE OPERATIONS.
3. STRIP TOPSOIL TO FULL DEPTH IN AREAS TO BE GRADED.
4. MAXIMUM GRADED SLOPE SHALL NOT EXCEED 4:1 UNLESS ADDITIONALSTABILIZATION TECHNIQUES ARE PROPOSED AND APPROVED BY TOWN OFCARY TOWN ENGINEER.
5. AREAS TO BE GRADED SHALL BE CLEARED OF ALL EXISTING VEGETATION.CONTRACTOR TO PROTECT VEGETATION LOCATED BEYOND GRADING LIMITS.
6. COMPACT ALL FILL AREAS TO 95% OF MAXIMUM DENSITY, OR PERGEOTECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS.
7. PROPOSED SPOT ELEVATIONS ARE SHOWN AT FINISHED GRADE.
8. PLACEMENT OF ANY FILL MATERIAL (INCLUDING PAVEMENT SECTIONS) MUSTBE CONDUCTED UNDER THE OBSERVATION OF A QUALIFIED LICENSEDGEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. UPON COMPLETION OF EARTHWORK ACTIVITIES,THE TOWN OF CARY MUST BE PROVIDED WITH A FINAL GRADING REPORT THATINCLUDES THE CORRESPONDING COMPACTION TEST RESULTS AND CERTIFIESTHE TYPE OF FILL MATERIAL AND ITS PROPER PLACEMENT.
9. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT ADA REQUIREMENTS, THE RUNNING SLOPEOF WALKING SURFACES CANNOT BE STEEPER THAN 1:20 AND CROSS SLOPEOF WALKING SURFACES CANNOT BE STEEPER THAN 1:48.
10.TO MINIMIZE DAMAGE TO EXISTING TREES LOCATED NEAR THE INTERIOREDGE OF TREE PROTECTION AREAS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CUTTRENCHES, A MINIMUM OF 2' DEEP, ALONG THE LIMITS OF DISTURBANCE INORDER TO CUT, RATHER THAN TEAR, EXISTING ROOTS.
GRADING NOTES GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL SITE WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE w/ THE PLANS PREPAREDBY PABST DESIGN GROUP, PA, THE CURRENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE TOWNOF CARY, THE APPLICABLE SECTIONS OF THE NCDOT STANDARDSPECIFICATIONS FOR ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION, AND ALL OTHER PERTINENTFEDERAL AND STATE LAWS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY AT ALL TIMES w/ APPLICABLE FEDERAL,STATE AND LOCAL LAWS, PROVISIONS, AND POLICIES GOVERNING SAFETYAND HEALTH, INCLUDING THE FEDERAL CONSTRUCTION SAFETY ACT (PUBLICLAW 91-54), FEDERAL REGISTER, CHAPTER XVII, PART 1926 OF TITLE 29REGULATIONS, OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH REGULATIONS FORCONSTRUCTION, AND SUBSEQUENT PUBLICATIONS UPDATING THESEREGULATIONS.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EXAMINING THE AREAS ANDCONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE PROJECT IS TO BE CONSTRUCTED PRIOR TOTHE SUBMISSION OF A BID. SUBMISSION OF A BID SHALL BE CONSTRUED TOMEAN THE CONTRACTOR HAS REVIEWED THE SITE AND IS FAMILIAR w/CONDITIONS AND CONSTRAINTS OF THE SITE.
4. BEFORE EXCAVATION, ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHALL BE LOCATED INTHE FIELD BY THE PROPER AUTHORITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFYN.C. "ONE CALL" AT 1-800-632-4949. THE LOCATION OF ALL UTILITIES ANDUNDERGROUND STRUCTURES ARE APPROXIMATE AND MAY NOT ALL BESHOWN. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO DETERMINE THEEXISTENCE AND EXACT LOCATION OF ALL UTILITIES AND UNDERGROUNDSTRUCTURES.
5. ALL EXISTING TREES, VEGETATION, PAVEMENTS, CONCRETE FOUNDATIONS,STRUCTURES AND ORGANIC TOPSOIL SHALL BE STRIPPED AND REMOVEDFROM NEW CONSTRUCTION AREAS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
6. AN AS-BUILT DRAWING OF NEW UTILITY SERVICES MUST BE PREPARED BYTHE CONTRACTOR AND SUBMITTED TO THE OWNER UPON COMPLETION OFTHE PROJECT.
7. ALL AREAS NOT PAVED SHALL BE TOPSOILED, SEEDED, MULCHED ORLANDSCAPED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED IN THE CONSTRUCTIONDRAWINGS, SITE SPECIFICATIONS OR INSTRUCTED BY THE OWNER.
8. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR DISPOSAL OF ALLWASTE MATERIALS OFF SITE. THIS RESPONSIBILITY SHALL INCLUDE ALLREQUIRED APPROVALS AND CONDITIONS DICTATED BY THE TOWN OF CARY.
9. ALL OPEN STORM DRAIN PIPES SHALL BE PROTECTED w/ STONE FILTERPROTECTION AFTER STOPPAGE OF WORK EACH DAY.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL ADHERE TO ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS OUTLINEDIN THE GENERAL NPDES PERMIT FOR STORMWATER DISCHARGE ASSOCIATEDw/ CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
11. IF AN OFFSITE SOIL SPOIL OR BORROW SITE IS UTILIZED, THEN THEDISTURBED AREA FOR THE SPOIL/BORROW SITE MUST BE INCLUDED IN THELAND-DISTURBANCE PLAN AND PERMIT UNLESS THE SPOIL/BORROW SITEALREADY HAS A LAND-DISTURBANCE PERMIT.
12. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE SHOP DRAWINGS ON ALL STORM SEWERMANHOLES AND INLETS.
13. ALL STORM PIPE SHALL BE AS NOTED. ALL JOINTS SHALL BE WATERTIGHT.
14. ALL PERMITS RELATING TO THIS PROJECT MUST BE OBTAINED PRIOR TOCONSTRUCTION.
15. BOUNDARY, TOPOGRAPHIC AND LOCATION SURVEY PROVIDED BY CDKGEOMATICS, PC.
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO OTHER PLANS w/IN THIS CONSTRUCTION SETFOR OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION.
17. ALL RETAINING WALLS REQUIRE A BUILDING PERMIT. WALLS GREATER THAN4' IN HEIGHT WILL REQUIRE ENGINEERING DESIGN APPROVAL ATCONSTRUCTION DRAWING REVIEW AS WELL AS A BUILDING PERMIT. ENSURETHAT NO UTILITIES WILL BE IN CONFLICT WITH STRUCTURALREINFORCEMENT OF THE WALL.
