PCHS Students Hold Mock TrialStudents in Sarah Byrum’s honors civ-ics and economics class at Pasquotank County High School conducted the mock trial of Snow White’s stepmother, who has been charged with attempted murder. Assistant District Attorney Toni Moore Cameron and Attorney Johnny Finch worked with the students as the prepared for the trial.

The students began the mock trial pro-cess by gathering evidence through reading the original tale and comparing it to evidence from the original cartoon. The students received help from Deputy Lesh of the Pasquotank Sheriff’s department to identify state statutes, conducting their investiga-tion, fill out a search warrant and an arrest warrant. Assistant District Attorney Cameron helped students create their opening arguments and create questions, as well as develop witness profiles.

On May 4th, the Queen was found guilty of attempted murder and was sentenced to eat a poi-soned apple.

The annual luncheon for bus driver recognition was held on Tuesday, May 17th. The luncheon was hosted by Evangelical Methodist Church and sponsored by the Pasquotank Ministers’ Council for Education.
