Let us be grateful to friends who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

With sincere appricaition to dear Behnam who provided this great opportunity for us to experience very wonderfull, sweet and unforgetable friendships in his warm, friendly and lovely thread.

Part one: December 2007 till May 2009December 2007behnam December 3rd 2007 Dear friends Thank you for studying this writing. I am Behnam, male, 28 from Iran. I am a teacher and I teach Physics which is my love in my life. Apart from this fact, I love the English language as well. I love it, because it has got good intonation in speaking. I mean falling and rising the voice when someone speaks. I am trying my best to learn English as completely and correctly as I can. As you all know completely well, one of the most important ways to learn a language is writing. As a matter of fact, we might as well make use of the vocabulary which we have got. When we try to write, we make our passive vocabulary active. As You know, it is, sometimes, impossible to write without sharing information with a partner. As far as language is concerned, a friend is much more important than taking part in an English class. I am going to write that I am really interested in making friends with people from all over the world. It makes no difference to me the gender, the skin colour or other factors. I am interested in making friends with some people, who are interested in English, just in order to write in English and make a good progress in writing. I am looking forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. Yours Truly, Behnam 3 December, 2007 My E-mail is: [email protected]

NRLHOSSAIN December 4th 2007 Hello Benham Good Morning Thank you for your nice letter. Long days ago I had an opportunity to read your email about some problem in english sentence and grammer in english grammer help section. The email was sent to clare and penapls but you were only people could not satisfy in reply of your question received from other penpals. I feel proud of your confidence about your knowledge in english. The email was published for many times to seek good reply. I think when anybody wants to write about some topic have to have full confidence of it. You could overcome this matter. To this opportunity i want to know from you as a foreign people how can i write english good without convert.Suppose Bangla is our Ist language. So it is natural when any thinks comes to my mind first i try to speak Bangla but in writing english feels some problem when this sentence some words may be different to understand the reader what i wanted to exact to meaning. So my asking question to you is it possible without coversiion to write english well like me people. Meantime i wanted to be your good friend . Best Regards Hossain

behnam December 4th 2007 Dear Wangcheng, Thank you so much for your reply. As far as I am aware, the life without friends is a tomb. This is a feeling in fact. I am often right with my feeling. As an old saying, the best things in life are free. If we ask someone, what are the best things in life, from your point of view? Everybody will answer to this question in a different way. In my book, Love and friendship are two important things that we cannot buy them. Of course, they are free. Some people think that they can even buy love or friendship if they pay enough money. In my poor opinion, they are absolutely wrong. They pay and get something, but it is not love. I will take it as a golden opportunity to make friends with you. Please let me know, what can I write to you? What are your interests? I am going to send you a letter as soon as I can. I wish you would write me too. I am interested in reading about your country, particularly, about its culture and history. Please write me as soon as you can. Yours Faithfully, Behnam 4 December, 2007

behnam December 4th 2007 Dear Hossain, Thank you very much for your reply. You cannot imagine how it made me happy. First of all, I am going to ask you about the matter which you have mentioned in your writing. To be honest, I am a bit confused. You have written about something, whereas I cannot remember it at all. Would you please make it a bit clear? When and where have I challenged the accuracy of grammar? Would you please address it to me? You have written something about fear of writing! The biggest problem most people face in learning a new language is their own fear. They worry that they will not say or write things correctly or that they will look stupid so they do not talk and write at all. Do not do this. Like anything, learning English requires practice. As an old saying goes, practice makes perfect. Do not let a little fear stop you from getting what you want. You have mentioned that you often translate your mother tongue into English. Do not worry about it. That is just common sense. All the people in the world, who are going to learn English as a second language, while they are a teenage or an adult, are facing with this problem. For me, the problem is much more complicated. My mother tongue is Azari. As you, perhaps, know, the official language of Iran is Persian. I, therefore, think in Azari. When I want to write or say something in English, I have to think in Azari, after that I try to translate it into Persian then into English. What will happen? I am not worry about it. You should forget these kinds of things. Just try to speak and to write. We should learn it as correctly as we can. That is true. The new language learning process is, almost, long and slow. We learn it little by little. A point should be made that we are not going to speak English as a native speaker. In fact, we cannot do that, as mentioned before. We need it as long as people can understand us and as long as we make ourselves understood. Hossain, I am not going to teach you something, because of the fact that I am a learner myself. I am at the begging of a long distance way. No matter at what point of this way I am. It is extremely important to be on right way. As your writing implies, you are on correct way too. It should be mentioned that a good begging is half the work. English language, on the one hand, is one of the best one in all over the world. On the other hand, it is so complicated to learn. I love it because of its intonation and stress. The negative side of English is that it is sound based instead of being spelling based. We write something and we pronounce other thing. Why the English language is important? In other worlds, why do we have to learn it? Well, this is a great question. Nowadays, English is referring as a global language. That is a language of communication and technology. Everybody seems to be learning English. These days if someone does not know English he/she is in danger of being excluded from

what is going on in education, at work and especially in the world of technological advances. Very soon English will be the second language of all the people in the world. This is happening while I am writing to you. We cannot be certain how long the process will take, but there is no doubt it will happen. In order to bring this writing to a close and to make conclusion, it should be mentioned that we have to learn English as far as we can. How can we do that? Well, there are a lot of ways. One of the most important and effective method is writing. When we try to write something, we look for the worlds which we have already learned. In this case, our passive vocabulary turns active. Now, I am going to say that you all come and give me a helping hand with the English language. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 4 December, 2007 PS. I would like to express my special thanks to Clare, the owner of this site, who has given us this golden opportunity to present our ideas and to write whatever we like. Dear Clare, Thank you very much indeed . kedus December 5th 2007 hey behnam how are you? I am a new member englishe-at-home my name is kedus.I am 18 years old andI come from Ethiopia but now I live in Australia. NRLHOSSAIN December 9th 2007 Hello Benham--Good Morning... . I was very happy that you had replied with a great clarification . But you were little bit confused about my email that could not remember your past experaince written in help section which i can remember because i was a member of this site since 2006. If i had the opportunity to find this email from this site by searching will be glad again. So it is better to forget because you could not remember the seenario anymore which i appreciated to grow confidence from your writing and there was a email of me written to you as well as i can remember. In your letter i have understand everything but one sentence i could not able to clear myself such as "our passive vocabulary turns active" Can you pls give me an example to clear the meaning. 02) " when we try to write something ,we look for the worlds

which we have learned" i Can you pls give me the acutal meaning which i can understand. Here are some question of me which i can raise to you for solution. I want to write some topic in newspaper. Sometimes it is difficult to start the presnet and past tenese to build the sentence. Is there any restriction to start let present tense tense and to end sentence same tense. I want to maintain a schedule of writing. How can i do that and what subject i can chose. Can you give advice. Thank you again Hossain behnam December 10th 2007 Dear Hossain, Thank you for your letter. You have asked some questions. In order to answer them It should be written that we, as everybody, have got two kinds of vocabularies: Passive vocabulary and active vocabulary. Passive vocabulary is the words and phrases we recognise, know and understand even if we cannot use them all with confidence. Active vocabulary is the words and phrases we not only understand but can use confidently ourselves. Which is bigger, our active or passive vocabulary? We can increase our passive vocabulary by reading, listening and using books. We can increase our active vocabulary by using these words in conversation and writing. All in all, if we want the words to become part of our active vocabulary, we must use them in conversation, composition and letters. Your last quetion was so complicated to grasp. My advice to you is to speak to experts. I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to write to me. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 10 December, 2007

2NRLHOSSAIN December 11th 2007 Hello Benham.. If you give me an example I could understand this point. Can you pls write me specificly.I

am waiting for your example. thank you. Hossian

behnam December 11th 2007 Dear Hossain, Thanks a million for your writing. You have asked for an example. As a matter of fact, It is impossible to give an example about this subject. The only thing that I can do is, to make it a bit simpl. I am going to write something, in the hope that it makes a bit clear. I am not sure, but sometimes going into more details makes subject much more complicated. In other words, we try to find out one things, we face with a lot of unpredictable questions. Almost all people have got two hands, some people can write with both of them and some people can write only with one of them. in this case, we can say that one oftheir hands is passive in writing. As you know, some footballers are called two-legged. It means that they can play and shoot the football ball with both of their legs. In this case, both of their legs are active. I write with my right hand. I cannot write with my left hand well. Therefore, it is passive now. If I begin to try to write with my left hand, after some months or, maybe, some years, I will be able to write with my left hand as well. In this case, we can say, my passive hand turns active. Let us imagine that we are studying a book that gives us some informatin about a particular subject. Suppose There are two paragraphs on page 25 and we are studying one of them. We, sometimes, can easily understand what is written in this paragraph, even though there are some words that we do not know their true meaning. To put it another way, in spite of the fact that we do not know the meaning of some words in the paragraph, we can grasp what it is going to give us. In this case, we make guess about the meaning of unknown words. After getting the information which that paragraph gives us, we close the book and make decision to write what we have already understood from that paragraph, in a simple way. We try hard and we find it very difficult to write about it. What is the reason? We both have understood it easily, but when it comes to writing, it seems too difficult. Why? Now, we should get, in conclusion, that there is a world difference between understanding something and being able to write it. As far as I am concerned, the same difference goes between passive vocabulary and active vocabulary. I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to write to me. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 11 December, 2007

NRLHOSSAIN December 13th 2007

Hello Friend--Benham Thank you for your letter. Now i will discuss with your first para. If i don't wrong I want to share with you what i understood from your msgs. Active means-- Word that is use in our speaking Supose --eat is a word to understand anybody is hungry. To bring down his hungry he wants to eat something so that he feels heppy in physically. Passive means== ( eat) We can say eat up that means he has finished up. Or eat out -that means he have a meal away from home. When any words we can say easily is active but when we can use adding other words to grow importance is called varbal phrase and is called passive vocabulary. It is the perosnal opinion of me.If it is not right pls make clear. Thank you very much for your co -operation Hossain

NANA December 13th 2007 hi,behnam i'm nana, from china.i saw all of letter your & Hossain's.i was deeply affected.you are so serious and i want to make friends with u for improving english. from your name,i think you really like football game, isn't it? best regards nana my e-mail:[email protected]

NANA December 13th 2007 hey,Hossain I agree with your opinion it is natural when any thinks comes to your mind first you try to speak native language then you must translate to enlish.how we can use english to think? can we make a friend? Yours Sincerely, NANA [email protected] behnam December 14th 2007 Dear Nana & Dear Hossain, Many thanks for your writing and leaving messages. So far, we were discussing about the difference between active vocabulary and passive vocabulary. I agree with you up to a point, but there are some points I still disagree with. Let us suppose that someone is a native speaker. In other words, his/her mother tongue is English or whichever you want to consider. Now, the question is just this: Why that native speaker cannot write well and cannot make a good speech?

I am not going to answer to this question. I am going to say that, there is a big difference between understanding and knowing something and being able to write about it. We all know completely well that when we feel hungry, we have to eat some food. So, we can use the word "eat" easily. In this case, you are absolutely right. In order to bring this part of my writing to a conclusion, let us have a look at the English culture. There is an important expression in the English culture. It is: If you want to do not lose it, use it. So, we should try to use words in writing and in making conversation. Everybody knows that if he/she wants to learn a language, he/she has to think in it and even dream in it. How do these dreams come true? Practice makes perfect, as an old saying goes. So, let us practice, practice, and practice together. That is all I was saying. I am keen on writing in English. I love it. I love Physics as well. Please do not hesitate to write to me. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 14 December, 2007

ktrrzn December 15th 2007 Dear Behnam, I'm from Myanmar.I'm very happy to make friend with you.You can teach me and guide me to fluent in English.I'm not very good in English.I'm very happy hearing about your mind. You've said you make friend not depend on skin and color. What is your hobby?Tell me about your family.

behnam December 15th 2007 Dear Ktrrzn, Thank you for your writing. My mentionable hobbies are: Chatting, Walking, Swimming, playing chess and studying English. I have to learn English and take an exam, because there is a crying need to have got a valid certification in the English language. To speak honestly, I intend to take an entrance exam, in order to continue studying at university in my field. Therefore, taking the English language valid certification is one of the most important conditions to register in the entrance examination. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Yours Sincerely,

NANA December 17th 2007 dere Behnam, thank you for your quick reply. i get it,what youmean.justpractice,practice.... However, whenever hard you work, you can't keep up with those who live in english country. They speak enlish anytime,in chatting,in eating,in dreaming.enlish is part of their lives. on the we just speak enlish when we practice.do you think we have a shortcut? The second question is which words we may choose.when we say or write something, many words express the same meaning, especially we think in our native language and say in english. looking forward for your reply NANA

ktrrzn December 18th 2007 Dear beham, Thank you for returning my message.I like your hobby.I wish you get the high point in exam and get to the university with flying colors.ok?

behnam December 20th 2007 Dear NANA, Thank you for your writing. As you have mentioned, learning a new language is so hard. We should not worry about it, because it is common for new learner to find it hard. In other words, it is a common problem that all learners are faced with it. We are not going to speak as a native speaker. Actually, we cannot do that at all. That is not my opinion. As a matter of fact, that is a proven subject. What is the reason? To speak honesty I should say, I do not know. I just now that it is due to the process of our brain. That is what psychologists say. The older you are, the harder a new language is to learn. Well, what should we do? As far as I am concerned, we should enjoy our English. We should feel happy. I got what you have written and you will get what I am writing. Language is as a tool for communicating with people. I am afraid to say that I do not know whether there is a shortcut or not in order to learn it. I only know that we should practice a lot. In my opinion, there are not even two words with the same meaning in all situations. In

other words, the meaning of a word depends, to a great extant, on the situation which it is used. In fact, there is surely difference between two words. The difference of two words will be appeared if someone tries to consider all situations. Please do not hesitate to write to me. Please write a little bit more about yourself. behnam December 21st 2007 Dear Ktrrzn, Thank you so much for your writing. Would you please let me know that what do you mean by writing "flying colors"? Could you possibly explain it a little bit more to me? I do like playing chess. I think life is as a kind of playing chess. There are a lot of rules and a lot of ways to make choices when we want to make a move with our playing pieces. The result of the game depends on your way of thinking, choosing trying and your knowledge. In my opinion, the life can be easily understood by making a comparison between chess and it. I think the whole universe is a kind of playing chess as well. The difference between them is the subject of games. In life, we are players and we play chess, whereas in the universe God plays chess and we are observers. How do you think about life? I will write more about that subject later. Please write about yourself. Please write soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 21 December, 2007 PS. I wish you (who is studying this writing) would leave me messages. [email protected]

NANA December 24th 2007 dear behnam, Merry Chrismas!Hope you have a great and romatic vacation. As far as you were concerned, we should enjoy our enlish,NOT JUST LEARN THEM. So i deciede:listen enlish music ,read enlish fairy tales(for my words is limited so i only read the easy ones),play enlish games(introduce "The big city adventure","dream day wedding""Agatha Christie Death On The Nile"),watch enlish movie.i hate reciting enlish words.do you think it is enough? As for me,i was born and work in china.i work as a accountant so i think it is boring. i want to learn enlish and through this tool to expand my knowledge and make my life more interesting.what's your aim for learning english? best wishes NANA NRLHOSSAIN December 26th 2007 Hello Benham... Eid Mubarak---- How are you? I returned to my office after eid holidays. Usually my habit to find email and give reply if it is possible. Now i have a time to reply to you. So i sit to write you with a learing mood about in reply of my email . I saw to your email box has credited another friend msgs. I am very happy that many friends are looking our conversation and creating a comments. I wanted to write something to you to learn. You are a teacher and you love physics threre is no doubt. In teaching life can you say while taking your class delivering your lecture that all the studens can understand your lecture in a particular time. What is your opinion. In different people in different mind. You have to admit. Suppose what you thinking in a particular subject to understand the students may be not understandable to them. Because many teachers are teaching process style in different kinds. We go to class and finished the hour. Teacher do not ask to the studnes what is the class learning output. After examination are found many studensts failed in english subject. In my opinion what is i know specifically and logically to make it to accptable and give it to studensts so that they can understand and ask me another question. What is your reality in this matter. Wishing you good luck in coming New year 2008. Thank you .. Yours Frined.. Hossain behnam December 26th 2007 Dear NANA, Thank you for your writing. I am going to take an exam to get into university and continue my studying. I have to have a valid certification in the English language. I am trying my best. I have made lots of progress, but it is not enough yet. I think, here is a good place to practice English. I am Stella from China. I have not came here for a long time. Now glad to read all your talking. One feeling suddently from me is that English is magic. Your talks make me become more eager to learn English better. I am hoping I can join your free talk and improve my English by your great helps if you don't mind. Thank you very much for everybody. Mastering an language is not an easy job. During the long learning process, we might try by different ways which are failure but only a few can go to success. As an English learner, I think studying merrily with partners is my best way. Best Regards, Stella 29th Dec. 2007 Email: [email protected] behnam December 29th 2007 Dear NANA, Thank you for writing. You have written" God will bless you." Could I ask you that you do believe in God? You do not have to answer. Please feel free in answering. In order to answer to your question, which was about learning English, I want to make an

analogy. In my opinion, learning English is as travelling with a small boat in a wide and vast ocean. The English language is as an ocean and I, as a learner, am in that boat. I move very slowly. When I look at forward, I see a long distance way. In this time, I get disappointed, because of understanding that I should still go a lot. I, sometimes, think that there is no end to this travelling. This way of thinking makes me sad and causes to make stop. In the other hand, when I look at backward, I see how far I have come. In this case, I get pleased. This way of thinking makes me happy and gives me lots of energy. I think, this is a common sense. We should not worry about problems, which we are faced with them in learning English. I think, that paragraph does not help you. Let me make another analogy. When I was a child, I tried to learn playing chess. I learned it by myself. Actually, I learned it while I was playing with my friends, family and relations. I won and lost so many times. I thought that I have learned playing chess. I grew up with this feeling and got into university. As you know, at university, there are lots of students who are interested in playing chess. I made friends with some of them. One night, in the dormitory, we were speaking about chess. I told them that I know playing chess. A friend of mine said," Well, Behnam, do you like to play with me?" I answered immediately," Of course! It will be a real honour to play with you." We played a lot and I lost over and over again. I got disappointed and asked my friend," What is wrong with me? Could you possibly let me know why I did lose over and over again?" My friend was very kind. He said," Behnam, frankly speaking, you have learned playing chess traditionally. You should study about it very deeply. Go to a bookshop and buy such and such books." I went and bought what he had recommended. When I opened one of them to study, I saw that I know nothing about chess. I studied a lot. After that, when I was playing with someone, I was always in doubt whether my movement is correct or not. I was always checking. The more checking, the more learning I had. To sum up I should write, dear NANA, do not worry about referring to dictionary in order to find out the true meaning of a word. The more you look up, the more you will learn. Do not worry about making mistakes. When you make mistake, you learn something. Learning a new language cannot be done at one night. We learn it little by little, piece by piece. It should be mentioned that we mustn??t make stop. Let us finish this writing with an important English expression. It is: Practise makes perfect. Please do not hesitate to write me. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 29 December, 2007 behnam December 29th 2007 Dear Hossain, Thank you so much for your writing. Happy feast1 I mean Ghorban. Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you, to your family and to all people who visit this site. Your writing was about teachers and teaching. It was very hard to understand whether you were criticizing teachers or students, or the way of their teaching.

As you know and I have mentioned for many times, I am a teacher and I teach Physics. It is really a hard task to teach in a way that all students can be able to grasp the subject. Let us assume that we have got, at least, sixty students in a class. That means we have got sixty students with sixty minds, way of thinking and intelligence quotient. Some of them can understand very easily, whereas others have got some problems in understanding Physics. As I guess you know, Physics is easy to understand, if someone interests in it. Apart from this fact, the way of teaching is very important. We should teach as simple as we can. As a matter of fact, if someone cannot teach in a simple way, she/he has not understood himself/herself. There are some quotations from Albert Einstein, the most famous Physicist in all over the human beings history. Most of the fundamental ideas of science are essentially simple and may, as a rule, be expressed in a language comprehensible to everyone. If you cannot say as simple as possible, you do not understand. I have got no problem with my students. They like Physics and they try their best to understand it. What I only do for them is teaching in a simple way and giving lots of examples. I hope to read about you soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 29 December 2007 arithmetica December 30th 2007 Dear Behnam, I'm Azin from Iran.I praise your talent of writing. Are there any special books or contexts which you are used to studying them?I 'm used to studying the book'504 absolutely essential words'.Let me know if you're using any others. samar January 2nd 2008 dear behnam ,im intrested to make friend ship with u inorder to improve our english now im a IELTS student and i want to do my best.... behnam January 2nd 2008 Dear Azin,

Thank you for your writing. That is very kind of you to think so. Actually, I have not got a good talent in writing. Thank you once again for your encouragement. As I guess you know, 504... is a good book from vocabulary point of view. If you pay a good attention to the words which are in that book, you will find out that they are so complicated to memory. We do not need to learn all of them. As an example, the first word in this book is 'abandon'. It means to leave a place, thing or person forever. Do we have to learn it? We are going to make conversation and communicate with people. We should write and speak as simple as possible. In my opinion, simplicity is an art. All I am saying is that, languages are as a tool for us. The simpler, the easier to use. We use words to make conversation with other people. We, ourselves, should make decision that which words are important and which words are not important to learn. In answering to your question I should say that they are lots of good books about English. Vocabulary in use and grammar in use are very good. In terms of dictionary, Longman dictionary of contemporary is one of the best dictionaries in all over the world. It is really a complete dictionary from all points of view. Please do not hesitate to write me. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 2 January, 2008 behnam January 2nd 2008 Dear Samar, Thank you for your writing. Though i may not go to be at church on Sunday,i could believe the truth that he is on the side of you, especially in your bad situation and when you need help.Have you red an essay:Someday one man asked God:" God,you say you go with me always, why i cann't see you.when i went through the sand,it only left my footprints behind me,not yours."God said:'boy,it is the reason i am walking

and you behind my back." In my opinion, learning English is as climbing the stairs. You should step by step.you can get the top in one step.you can't be lazy or you will slide down. Only do you reach some hight, you can take a rest and set out again. i thank you for your encourage. As far as the chess was concerned,i have some experience. As i was a child, i played chinese chesee. My teacher told me it is important that you think about the next step of your opponent and you adopt which ways to pretent him.i think playing chess is a phychologic game. best wish NANA

With the best regards, Behnam 15 January, 2008 zini January 17th 2008 hi I am ,zanireh, female, from iran,I went to english class but it wasn't useful for me .i want to improve my speaking and writing but i don't know the best way for improving. please help me .thanks. nguyenmai January 17th 2008 Hi every body! I'm Mai from Viet Nam. As you know, we are going to have the Tet holiday, the same holiday with the Spring holiday in China or Japan. In this occasion, i want to say Happy new year to every body! behnam January 21st 2008 Dear Zanireh, Thank you for your writing. First of all, would I be able to ask what is the meaning of "Zanireh"? You have written that you have been learning English, but the class was not useful or useful enough for you. It is convenient to write that, in my experience, taking part at a bad English class is much better than self studying. You want to improve your speaking and writing. It is a common sense. All of us want to improve our skills in English. What is the best ways? Nobody can answer to this question! As a matter of fact, there is no answer to this question. Why? It is impossible to answer to this question because of the fact that the best way is different from person to person. There are lots of tips about writing and speaking. Unfortunately, some of them do not work. I can only write my own point of view. If you would liket to speak well, you should listen a lot, and if you would like to write well, you should study a lot. Apart from this fact, you should use English to English dictionary whenever you are going to look the meaning of a word up in it. One important point should be made that do not try to memorise a word and its meaning without paying a close attention to the situation which the word is used. It is worth lerarning a word with some different sentences as examples. As an example, suppose someone is going to memoriose "agree" as a new word. She or he should pay a careful attention to the following sentences: 1- I agree with you on this issue. 2- My father and I don't agree about/on very much. As we can see, those two sentence teach us a lot. We can learn the correct preposition and situation which the word is used correctly from English grammar point of view.

To improve your listening, there are lots of useful sites. In my opinion, www.bbclearningenglish.com is much more powerful than others. I found it very useful. In terms of dictionaries, The longman contemporary dictionary in English is very complete and good from all points of view. I hope this helps! Yours Sincerely, Behnam 21 January, 2008 NANA January 21st 2008 dear Behnam, How's it going?it is very cold in my city recently, and i hate the weather. Last night my friend said to me,"you have learn enlish so long, have u got some progress?why i can't see it."i have nothing to reply.Because it is ture,i can't see the result.i can't listen the enlish song fully, watch the movie clearly,i can't write some article, too. So do you think if i should issue a plan and make sure which day, which hour what i should learn, even what i had learn. How much time you spend enlish one day? do you think you have got what you want ? waiting for your reply NANA behnam January 23rd 2008 Dear NANA, Thanks a million for your writing. The weather is getting cold, but I do not hate it. In my country, it is freezing. Here, most of the surface of earth is covered by snow. I like snowy weather. Apart from some trouble it causes, it is very beautiful. I have got lots of good memories from my childhood. More than half of them are about snow and winter. You have written something about your English. I can safely say that it is a kind of feeling. We are, sometimes, wrong with our feeling. What I am going to say is that, do not worry about it. It is a common sense. I, sometimes, at the beginning of a day, feel that my English is very good. I feel, as if, I understand whatever I hear in English, or I feel I can say whatever I want to say in English. Sometimes, I cannot make even a simple sentence in English. I think, almost all people, who are learning a new language, are so. I have been learning English for more than 18 years. I am, always, involved in it. I study English, at least, 4 hours a day. My job is directly related to the English language. Anyhow, my English is not good. There is a lot I still have to learn. We, who are going to learn English, should study it and learn it until our dying day. There is not a finish for learning.

Learning a new language is a complicated and long process. It takes a lot of time to learn English and make ourselves understood. We learn it little by little. One important point should be made that we should never stop. It is extremely important in learning English. So keep on learning English. As you know, English language is very difficult. We write one thing and we pronounce other thing. Apart from this fact, there is exception for rules. There are far too many words in English and there are so many different ways of using them. There are so many prepositions and so on. So I think, I should not try to learn all of them. I should try to learn a few things which are really important in making conversation with people. You have written that you cannot understand a film, which is in English, completely and you, also, cannot get all the music you listen to in English. I can easily say that you will not be able to understand or grasp all things which you hear while watching a film in English. Not only you cannot, but also no one, who is not a native, can, in fact. This is a common sense. So do not worry about it. We, almost, in all cases make guess about what we hear and read. In my opinion, that is enough. Do not focus on a word that a speaker is using in his or her speaking. It is better to focus on all words or a sentence completely and try to make a guess about what he or she is going to say. To bring this writing to a close and make a conclusion I should write dear NANA, do not take English very seriously. Take it easy. We should enjoy it. I am in a hurry. I cannot check my writing. I wish you would forget my mistakes which I have made in this writing. I am very much looking forward to reading about you. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 23 January, 2008 behnam January 25th 2008 Dear Nguyenmai, Thank you for your writing. Happy New Year to you too. behnam January 28th 2008 Dear friends, Thank you for studying. I find the following poems very meaningful. I wish you would study it and enjoy studying. I would appreciate if you could let me know your idea about this text. The Paradox of our time by George carline The paradox of our time in history is that: We have taller buildings but shorter tempers. Wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less. We buy more, but we enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences but less time. We have more degree but less senses, more knowledge, but less judgment. More experts, yet more problems more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, spend too recklessly, laugh little. Drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love seldom, and hate too often. We have learned how to make

living, but not a life. We have added years to life, but not life to years. We have been all the way to the moon and back, but have troubled crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space, but not inner space. We have done large things, but not better things. We have cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We have conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We have learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast food and slow digestion. Big men and small Character. Steep profits and shallow relationship. These are the days of two incomes, but more divorces, fancier houses but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throw away morality, one night Stance, over weight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer to quiet, to kill. It's the time when there is much in the show window and nothing in the stock room. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you

can choose either to share this insight or to just hit delet. REMEMBER, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around for ever. REMEMBER, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. REMEMBER, that to give a warm hug to one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn??t cost a rial. REMEMBER, to say "I LOVE YOU" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep insight of you. REMEMBER, to hold hands and cherish the moment for some days that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak, give time to share precious thoughts in your mind. **************************** Looking forward to reading your reply. Laura_yq February 2nd 2008 Dear behnam, I'm very happy to see your passage, because it's really very good.I'm a new student in college and what I'm learning decides my job in the future, which is an English teacher. But my trouble is that though I major in English,my English isn't as good as I hope.So could you give me a little advice to improve my English.Thank you very much! I'm looking forward for your reply. 7behnam February 3rd 2008 Dear NANA, Thank you for your writing. First of all, would you please give me a little bit information about yourself? The information should be such: What do you do? Where do you live? How old are you? What is your Gender? What do you study? Why do you want to learn

English? In answer to your question, yes, I sometimes have got this kind of feeling. All human beings have got this feeling when they are doing an important task. You have mentioned that you are going to come back home and spend your time with your family. Could I be indiscreet, if I would ask where you are now? In Iran we have got some festivals. Some of them are related to religion. The most important festival is named Newrooz which is at the beginning of the springs. I have heard that there is very snowy and cold. You have got a freezing weather. I hope you will spend these days safely. I hope a good happiness for you and your family. I hope you enjoy "The spring festival" Be careful! Do not use lots of sweets. It may be harmful to you! I am joking. See your reply, I hope. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 3 February, 2008

tossapol February 4th 2008 What a long poem! It's very long poem, but it's really true. Nowadays human is falling into materialism. We pay more attention in things, but less in heart, so it causes the problem right now. In my opinion, the global warming come from our own hands. Maybe I need not to say why. "Live a simple life the way it is. Don't be possessed by materialistic passion. Then happiness is yours."

behnam February 5th 2008 Dear Laura, Thank you so much for you writing. That is very kind of you to think so. My English is not good enough. Your English is very good. behnam February 10th 2008 Dear Heyva, Many thanks for being so kind. You cannot imagine how a good feeling I had when I saw your message. As you have found it out, I am originally from Azerbaijan. I am not bad at Azari language as well. I think, there is a bit difference between languages which people speak in your country and Iran. All in all, I can safely say that I can understand your language very well. My writing is not good enough, but it is very kind of you to think so. I should say that I love writing in English. Love of English makes me try my best to learn it as far as I can. You have asked me to write something in Azari. This is a hard task. In spite of difficulty, I try to write something. First of all, sovgulum eshgh ulmasa varigh butun afsanadi, eshgh dan mahroom ulan ensanigha bighanadi. This is the answer of your question about my writing. I hope that you can get it. Na tabiat gurub omrinda na donya yetirib, o gozallar ki bizim Azarbaijanda olar. gul agar bulbuli injitsa vafasiz demein, ghizlarin taghsiri yokh, gonah oghlanda olar. I hope to read more about you. behnam February 11th 2008 Dear Laura, Many thanks for your writing. I hope a good happiness and health for you. As I guess you know, in Iran we will have an important festival at the beginning of the spring. Its name is Newrooz. Iranian people celebrate this day. They clean up houses and wash up all things as if everything is new and going to start a new life. As you know, in

spring trees make start a new life, flowers bloom and birds sing. This festival is very important in Iranian culture. In terms of history, it is from 3000 years ago. It is on 21 March, actually. I hope to see your reply. Yours Sincerely, Behnam 11 February, 2008

behnam February 12th 2008 Dear friend (Know me), Thank you very much for your message. I am always ready to help people in improving their English. Actually, when I try to help someone, I improve my English too. Learning a new language is a lifelong activity. We should learn it until our dying day. There is not a finish point for it. We should help each other. It goes without saying that it is much more effective when we make friends with some people and practise our language skills. Here is a good place to practise our writing skill. To improve other skills we should study something, listen to something and talk to someone. As you know perfectly well, studying and listening can be done easily, because, in these cases, there is no need to someone else. The most important skill is speaking. As a matter of fact, we learn English to make conversation with people who speak in English. As far as I am concerned, we cannot claim that we have learned a language, unless we can speak it well and make ourselves understood. Speaking is really important. How can we improve it? In my poor opinion, the best way is making friends with some people who are native speakers. Well, native speakers are not interested in making friends with us! At least, I have not made friends with even one person who is a native speaker yet. They are not kind to me. They have got their rational reasons I think, nowadays, it is impossible to make friends with a person who is a native English speaker. They think that I am boring. They, perhaps, are right from this point of view. Anyway, we often, cannot make friends with a native speaker. Here, it is very convenient to make an important question. What can we do? The answer is very clear. We should make friends with someone who is interested in making friends with us. To make a conclusion, it should be mentioned that I am, always ready to make friends with people from all over the world, in order to practise our English skills, particularly speaking. I hope to see your reply. I wish you would E-mail me at: [email protected] and chat with me after adding: you.believeme

Marajeck February 13th 2008 Dont get me wrong, but someone could me explain about "STILL"?? May I use in any sentence?? its a common word?? behnam February 13th 2008

Dear Marajeck, Thank you for your writing. These kinds of questions should be asked from Clare, the owner of this useful site. She is, really, a kind teacher and she always helps us in English language. In answer to your question, there are two confusing words, "still" and "yet". In this writing, I shall try to explain how we use "still" and "yet", and I will tell you a story. First, I will tell you what I am not going to do. I am not going to give you dictionary definitions of "still" and "yet". You can look the words up in a dictionary yourself. And I will not tell you about all the different meanings that "still" and "yet" have. Instead, I will take one of the common meanings of "still" and "yet" and explain to you how we use the words. When I use the word "still", I want you to think of the words "nothing has changed". Like this. Ali is unwell. He telephones his boss to say that he cannot come to work. The next day Ali is still unwell. That means, he was unwell yesterday. He is unwell today. Nothing has changed. He is still unwell. And how about "yet"? How do we use "yet"? "Yet" means "so far", or "until now". We generally use it in questions, and in negative sentences. What is a negative sentence? It is a sentence with "not" or "none" or "no" or another negative word in it. So, Ali??s boss asks him a question, "Are you better yet?" And Ali replies with a negative sentence, "No, sorry, I am not better yet." You have probably guessed this already ?? very often you can use "not yet" and "still not" interchangeably. Ali says, "I am not better yet". Or he could say. "I am still not better". These two sentences mean the same. I hope that helps, Your Sincerely, Behnam 13 February, 2008

behnam February 15th 2008 Dear NANA, Thank you very much for your reply. Why are you so late in replying? I have asked you some questions in order to get some information about you. I am really interested in knowing a little bit more about you. You have answered all the questions, but the answers are very hard to grasp. I must study and search for getting some information about Chinese zodiac and look for Japanese movie. At first glance, the task seems to be easy, but that is very difficult to do. Would you please be kind enough and write me about yourself as completely as possible? You, perhaps, think that here is not convenient enough to write these kinds of information, I would appreciate if you could e-mail me at [email protected]. You have written some useful things about love. It was really amazing. It was interesting as well. I am going to write a story about love. I hope that women won't get upset after studying this story. First of all, I should write that this is not my belief about love. There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only

see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. Her boyfriend always told her: I love you. I want to marry you. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. You are the most wonderful woman I have ever met. You are not a burden and you are not a troublemaker. Yes, you have problems. So do I. And together, we can solve these problems more easily than if we were apart. Problems are a part of life. But so is happiness. Let us share our problems and happiness instead of experiencing them alone. I do not pity you. I respect you. I admire you. I think you are smart and brave. Don??t tell me to go find another woman. I don??t want another woman. I have found my love. Every day, I think about your beautiful smile, your happy face. I think about the long walks we used to take, holding hands all the way. I want to marry you. Still she insisted that only if she could see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, never to be seen again. The doctor told her later that it was her boyfriend who donated his eyes to her, so that she could see the world. The result is this: LOVE IS BLIND! I hope to see your reply soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 15 February, 2008

behnam February 18th 2008 Dear Shanti, Thank you for you message. Your English is very good. I am not going to flatter you or pay you some complements. I am an Azarin. According to popular belief, in my country,Iran, Azarian are very frank!

When I tell that your English is very good, It does not necessary mean that it is complete. I just can make a judgement from my own point of view. From my point of view, your English is better than mine. This place is not convenient to correct your text. I am going to write a sentence. We are interested in English and we often make mistakes in writing, but it does not matter at all. We should write a lot. My spoken English is not good enough to make, even, a simple conversation with people. It is vitally important to me to improve my spoken English. Who can help me? Could you make some useful suggestions? I am vey much looking forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 18 February, 2008

About the Chinese Zodiac,i just let you know something about china.you can check in this web http://chinatown.cwok.com/holidays-festivals/12_animals_astrology.htm. There are 12 Animals Chinese Zodiac, and it is based on a twelve year cycle??each year being represented by an animal. For example, you was born on 1980,you belong to monkey. It is easy to understand? When i saw your story,it make me think about a moving mv from Korea ---KISS.Here is http://www.ku6.com/show/oNVfQNFaslUyO1Ii.html. A girl and a boy was for in love. Then an incident made the girl blind.Though the boy loved racing,he loved the girl better than himself. After driving the last raceway,he donated his eyes to the girl and not told to the girl. The girl recovered and looked for tthe boy everywhere. She got him but found he was blind. She understood what he done for you and cried. Do you think this mv is for your touch?I can't help crying when ii see it every time. eager to your reply NANA

behnam February 21st 2008 Dear Laura, Thank you so much for your message. Of course, I remember you. You are very late in writing something. It seems to me that you, maybe, are busy. You are going to be a teacher. Congratulation! Do you like to be a teacher? Are teacher well-paid in your Country? What are you going to teach? Would you please give me more information about yourself? I just know that you are a shy girl!

You have written that you are a shy girl. It is not bad for a girl to be a bit shy. As you said, you are a student. It means that you are not very shy, due to the fact that you are a successful person from social interaction point of view. You should spend with your friends a lot of time and try to look people in the face while you are talking to them. Please write me about yourself. You could E-mail me at [email protected] I would be very happy if you could E-mail me. By the way, if you are going to become an English teacher, it is a golden opportunity to teach me something and practise teaching. In this case, you will kill two birds with one stone! One of the is struggling to overcome your shyness. The other one is improving your teaching skills. I hope to see your E-mail or message soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 21 February, 2008

behnam February 21st 2008 Dear Siva, Thank you very much for your writing. I can safely say that all people who visit this useful site hope to lean English. Indians speak English very well. To be honest, their English is very good. I would be very happy if you could write me something in English. I hope to read more about you. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 21 February, 2008

behnam February 21st 2008 Dear NANA, Thank you very much for your reply. You have written so complicated to get! I could not get it at all. What do you mean by writing" Have you anything?."? What do you mean by writing "Do you think this mv is for your touch"? I would appreciate if you could make them clear to me.

As you have written, In Chinese Zodiac there is twelve animals, each animal for a year. Well, imagine we start to call years with these animals. After twelve years, we will use all animals once to name twelve years. After that we must repeat the name of these twelve animals to name years. As a result, after twenty four years, the name of animals will be used twice. Suppose we ask someone"How old are you?" He or she answers"I was born in monkey years!" At the same time, we find out that it is monkey year now. What can we guess or get from this answer? 1-He or she is for example one year old. 2-He or she is 13. 3-He or she is 25. 4-He or she is 37. 5-He or she is 49. ?.? Which of them is correct? Nobody can understand it. In this case we have not given an answer. We have made it so complicated to understand. I am not going to teach you something. I just want to say that it is much better to write as simple as possible and to answer as simple as possible as well. I wish you would not get upset. Take this writing as a joke! I hope to see your reply soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 21 February, 2008

NANA February 21st 2008 dear behnam, i'm so sorry that my poor enlish confused you.let me explain to you. First,"Have you anything",it means sometimes something you had told yourself you shouldn't do again but you did at last.Something is what and when will take place. My bad habbit is shopping. Second,"for your touch", i used the wrong words to express.i want to say this mv can touch the bottom of your soul but i remember the lyric of the song--Unchained Melody. Third, the follow article can make you understand: It is said Buddha (the ultimate Emperor for the whole universe in Chinese legend) once called together all the animals on the earth for an important meeting. Only twelve animals turned up: the rat, the ox, the tiger, the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the sheep, the monkey, the rooster, the dog and the pig. The rat, being the smartest, jumped on top of the ox to be the first one to arrive. As a reward, the Buddha gave each animal a year in the cycle and declared that anyone born in that year would resemble the animal in some way. In addition, each two hours of

the day is also governed by one animal. The hours of 11pm to 1:00 am is by Rat, from 1 am to 3 am by Ox and so on. Six elements of the planet: wood, fire, air, water, gold and earth are also integrated into the animal Zodiac signs. Either 1years old,or13 years ,25years old, they belong to the same animal though they was born the different year.We believe they will have the same furture or luck in the geomantic omen. compared with your story,my story has a happy ending. When will you finish your story? By the way,do you think our world is really cruel?or the man is rushless? BEST WISH NANA

behnam February 21st 2008 Dear Know me, Thank you for your writing. It is so difficult to me describe myself from appearance point of view. To be perfectly honest, I am not interested in describing myself. As you know, I am a man and men are not usually interested in speaking about themselves from physical appearance standpoint. As far as I am concerned, men are often attracted to women first by their physical appearance, but the same usually does not go for women. That is why women, in general, tend to be more concerned than men about their personal appearance. I promise you to send you my picture if you E-mail me at [email protected] As other people, I have got some hobbies. My mentionable hobbies are swimming, playing chess, walking, hiking, chatting, studying in my field and learning English. As you know perfectly well, I am a Muslim. I follow the rules and the laws of Islam. You also know well that the Koran is the holy book of the Muslims. The language or writing of the Koran is Arabic. We, as a Muslim, have to learn Arabic in order to understand what God has said to us. According to this Ayeh"Enna Anzalnaho Ghoranan arabbiyan lallakom tagheloon" The holy Koran, Sura Yousof, 2, it is really important for Muslims to learn Arabic as far as they can. I can understand Arabic, but unfortunately, I cannot speak it. You have asked my opinion about the Arab world. In answer to your question, I should write that I am a scientist; at least I try to be a scientist. I know nothing about politics; actually I am not interested in it. I just can say that I like Arabs. According to the Koran, all Muslims are brothers and sisters. I really think so. I have not been to Syria yet. I really love to visit there. Syria is very important for Iranian because of the fact that some famous people are buried there. I wish I would be able to visit there as soon as possible. By the way, thank you for your invitation. Thank you once again for your kindness. Behnam is just a name for men in Iran. I do not know what it exactly means. It, maybe, means"the best name" or "celebrated" or "Famous". I am not sure. Would I be able to ask you what your name is?

I tried my best to answer to all your questions. I apologize in advance if I have left some of them or have not given a definite answer. You have written that you had been ill. I hope that it is not a serious ill and I hope you get better soon. Please E-mail me and write me as soon as possible. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 21 February, 2008

Know me February 21st 2008 Hi Behnam, How are you? thanks alot for your wishes to my health, now I am better. Behnam is a nice name , I have been asked you about the meaning because in arab language all names have meaning. according to your answers, truly ,you are very smart and clever man, and i have respected you . you didnt describe your shape , so I will imagine you like "Mouhammad Khatamie". we ,in syria like Iranians so much and because of that I liked to contact with you to know more about you . you asked me about my name ,Iwill not give it to you , but I will tell you about the meaning, truly, " the youngest and love". and as I see we are sharing in " Islam",and that is enough. please, dont feel upset from me. at least, "Al salam alikom" see you,

behnam February 22nd 2008 Dear NANA, Thank you so much for your writing. Thank you once again for useful information. To tell the truth, your English is very good. Without any exaggeration, it is better than mine. The only think you need is writing in a simple way. It should be said that I am a beginner in English. Have you ever seen a baby who is going to learn speaking or walking? Well, what do its parents do for this baby? They try to repeat words in a simple way and take its hand with saying"Tati tati?" In Persian language and "Tatan popan, tatan popan?." In Azari language. I can safely say that in English I am as a small baby. Now, I expect simplicity from you in writing. Almost all people have got habit of doing something. We have got good habit and bad habit. For example, I have got a habit of playing with my moustache when I am thinking about something or when I am nervous. We, sometimes, make decision to break a habit.

As you know very well, it is very hard to break a habit. We make promise to break it. So, we cannot keep our promise. You have a habit of shopping. As far as I am aware, you are a woman. Almost all women like shopping. Do not worry about it. Just be careful! Have you got enough money? Think about your pocket; your family's pocket or your husband's pocket. Dear NANA, I am interested in making joke with you. So, I am going to write something, in the hope that you do not get upset. Women like two things very much. The first one is gossiping about everyone in town. The second one is shopping. My mother is a teacher. She teaches Persian literature at high school. She likes gossiping and shopping, even though, she has not got a lot of free time. To make a conclusion, because of being a woman, you are free to do whatever you like(LOL). I asked you how old you are. You answered me that you were born in the sheep year according to Chinese Zodiac! Is this an answer? There are so many sheep years! A simple question that continues to puzzle scientists(LOL again). I got your point. We think as if it goes into the very depths of our soul. It is a feeling. When you think about it, a dreamy look comes into your eyes and your heart begins to flutter. Something like that. You have written that men are ruthless! It means they are so determined to get what they want and they do not care how much they harm other people. To give you an idea, yes they are. Be careful! Almost in all situations, getting a woman is one of the most important motivations to be ruthless! This is very true. If we look at the history of human beings very closely, we will find out that women play an important role when it is going to start war between people!(LOL LOL LOL). Dear NANA, I think you have got a heart of gold. I made joke just for happiness. Pardon my French! I am really optimistic about women. I really love them. They play a vital role in mankind history. How I can be an unfair man when a woman has given me the birth! Women are very kind. To be perfectly honest, the true meaning of kindness cannot be understood, unless paying a good attention to the feeling of a mother, when she gives birth to a baby, tries her best to look after it, feeds it, learns it speaking and walking. What task is more important than this? Let me bring this letter with a Persian expression, to a close; a man without wife is fifty without five. I hope to hear you very soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 22 February, 2008

11NANA February 22nd 2008 dear Behnam, Bravo!Tu fais rire tout le monde.Tu as tant d'humour! When i see your letter,i am laughing and can't describe it in a word.As a result,i use french to express my feeling. (^ _^) I think you must be a great and funny talker in the real life, you are popular in your friends.Anyone even stranger likes talking with you. However,it is a pity that you are a

scientist. You mistake my meaning,i want to ask you think most of people in the world are good guys or bad guys or it is relative.do you think the world is full of love or guity or nothing? Resently i downloaded a DVD(named enlish for you) to learn enlish,it's perfect. Have a beautiful weekend NANA

behnam February 22nd 2008 Dear Know me, "Assalamo alaykom va rahmatollah" Thank you very much for your writing. Your ID is "Know me", but you do not allow someone to know you. How can you explain this paradox? I am much younger than mentioned person. I have not got lots of beards on my chin and cheek. In other words, I am not a priest. I am not a clever person as well, but thank you very much for your hopefulness. It is very kind of you to think so. Iranian people like your people very much. In fact, we have the greatest respect for them. Please be kind enough to give me a little bit information about yourself. I really like to make friends with you. We can share lots of useful information with each other. I, unfortunately, do not know what your name is, but its meaning is very interesting. I make a guess that it is a nice name. behnam February 26th 2008 Dear NANA, Thanks a million for your writing. Thank you once again for your sentence that was written in French. You have written some good things about me. That is very kind of you to think so. It should be mentioned that I am still in dark about your age, your education and your job. Would you be kind enough to tell me how old are you and what do you do for living? What did you mean by writing "However, it is a pity that you are a scientist"? I did not get it at all. Do you hate scientists? Is it bad to be a scientist? what is wrong with me? In order to answer your question, I want to write something about life. I make start with this topic" Is life easy to you or it is difficult? If difficult can you illustrate why? I hope to see your sort of thinking and the idea of other people about this writing. As a matter of fact, at least, this a good excuse to practise our writing skill in English. In my opinion, this is a hard question to answer. I have been lying if I say no. On the other hand, I will be an unfair person if I say yes. In order to make it clear, let me discuss more about it. To the best of my knowledge, it depends, to a certain extent, on the people world view, culture, personality, education, upbringing and so many other parameters. An important attention should be paid that there are a world of difference between life and live. Let me cut it off and come back to the question and focus on it. I think life is a combination of difficulties and conveniences. My answer will be illustrated by a number of examples. Firstly, the life is difficult because you are not satisfied. In other words, it is difficult because you have not had or done what you wanted. Suppose you have an equation, but it is not soluble, you try and try, but there is no way or no trick to solve it. In this case, life

is very difficult. The hardness of the equation depends, in part, on the people culture, education, world view, gender and so on. Somebody only tries to think about his/her primary needs as food, so his/her equation should be as easy as solving (x+1=2). As you know, there is only one answer for it and it is (x=1). On the other hand, suppose a person as Albert Einstein, German physicist, Nobel Prize winner, creator of the theory of relativity, the chief engineer of the universe who led a revolution in science, particularly in physics. The equation of such man should be, as an example, in orders five such: (Ax5+Bx4+Cx3+Dx2+Ex+F=0). So, the life should be very difficult for such a man. It is unfair to compare such man with other one who only tries to get his primary needs. Secondly, life is easy and beautiful. In other words, life is a bowl of cherries. Let me emphasize first of all that I always have some aims in my life. In other words, my life is purposeful. I have never been plan less during my life. As you are well aware, some of our purposes are, almost always, not achievable. But, most of them are achievable. When you try to achieve the success you deserve, and when you make effort to solve the problems which you are involved in them, you are feeling a great pleasure. You will feel very happy if you overcome the hardness. Altogether, life is difficult but enjoyable. Life is easy for animals and difficult for true mankind. The more mankind properties you have got, the more difficulties you feel. The higher degree of human beings, the more responsibilities you feel. So far, as mentioned above, life is difficult but enjoyable. We can make it easier and more enjoyable. How can we do that? I am going to write more about it. One of the most important parameters that our life is influenced by it is a good partner. Let me discuss more about it. As we all know, people are two kinds. I mean male and female. In spite of their differences, they need partner. In other words, need for a partner is a common sense. As far as I understand it, the differences which they have, make them needful to each other. A man or a woman, however, feels unhappy when she/he is lonely. So, I think man or woman is somehow, incomplete. Under the influence of this incompletely, there is a strong attraction force between them. This extremely strong force is the cause of marriage. In this case, we can say the man and woman complement each other. So, if somebody can find his/her complement and can make a lovely life, his/her life will be enjoyable and all of the problems and the difficulties should be soluble or sufferable. I hope to see your reply soon. Yours Sincerely, Behnam, 26 February, 2008 PS Thanks to Clare, the owner of this powerful and useful site, we can share something with our friends from all over the world.
