Letter from the PRINCIPAL

We are thankful to the good God for another year of favor and blessings on Trinity School. It is a privilege for administrators and teachers to nurture and witness the growth and development of our students – each one a masterpiece, God’s work of art. Our students continue to excel academically. Graduates of the class of 2015 have been accepted into their first choice high school and were awarded twenty-nine scholarships. Trinity students continue to grow in their faith and participate generously in a variety of service projects. This year Trinity engaged in a self-study for re-accreditation which will culminate in an on-site visit in late October when a team of educators will visit Trinity for three days to validate the self-study. We look forward to celebrating Trinity’s seventy-fifth anniversary in 2016. We are grateful for your generous support that has brought us to this significant milestone. May Trinity’s years of excellence increase and multiply that we may daily proclaim in word and deed the goodness of God.

Letter FROM THE MIDDLE SCHOOL HEAD

As a child, I have a vivid memory of my mother reading Stone Soup to my siblings and I before going to bed. In the story, a traveling band of cooks prepares a feast of stone soup for the town they are staying in, while each townsperson brings a different ingredient for the soup.

In my studies of Catholic Education the past two years, I have learned that ultimately we are in the business of making stone soup. Our children thrive at Trinity because of the “ingredients” that the people of our school community bring to the table. We are continually blessed by the labors of our educators, the hours of dedicated volunteer service, and of course the financial contributions of our annual giving campaign.

As an administrator, I have a front-row seat to watch our “stone soup” come together, and I can truly say that your contributions help us to cook up a masterpiece.

The Julie Billiart Society

The Julie Billiart Society, named in honor of the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, honors those individuals whose cumulative gifts to the Trinity School Annual Giving Campaign have reached $5,000 and above. Each member of the Julie Billiart Society is awarded a plaque that bears the inscription of a quote by Sir Winston Churchill, “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” In addition to the individual plaques, the names of the members are engraved on a permanent plaque that is displayed in the foyer of St. Julie Hall. Trinity also honors those Julie Billiart Society members who have given cumulative gifts of $10,000. We also gratefully recognize the donors who have given cumulative gifts of $20,000 or more. This group of donors, known as the Namur Society, is named for the city in Belgium in which resides the international headquarters of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The Driveway

Challenge Tradition

In the 2014-2015 school year, our eighth grade parents achieved the goal of 100% parent participation in Annual Giving. Trinity proudly awards them the driveway sign in honor of the Class of 2015 based on this accomplishment. The challenge is now extended to the parents of the Class of 2016 and will again be based on 100% parent participation in annual giving. The Levy Family Award For Academic

Excellence and Leadership in STEM

In 2006, Trinity alumna, Dr. Susan Levy-Strohm, Trinity class of 1968, established an endowment at Trinity School. An endowment is a gift of money that has been given to a school or charity. An example of an endowment is a scholarship fund that has been set up to honor of someone and to fund the education of students.

Susan began the endowment with the understanding that, an award and a scholarship would be presented to a Trinity student who showed significant qualities of academic excellence and STEM leadership. This year Trinity awarded the first Levy Family Award for Academic Excellence and STEM Leadership honoring Susan’s parents, Bud and Peggy Levy.

Both Susan and her sister Joan, attribute their success as leaders in their fields to the start they received from their Trinity education. Trinity is very grateful to Dr. Levy-Strohm for her continuing contributions to the scholarship endowment and for giving future generations of Trinity students the opportunity to benefit from her generosity and the fruits of her Trinity education.

The Levy Family Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership in STEM is awarded with a $1,000 scholarship toward the student’s tuition for following school year. The award will be presented to a Trinity student in the 5th, 6th or 7th grade.

Named after the co-foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, this society honors those whose belief in the mission of Trinity School is so strong that they have made provisions for the school in their estate plans. A member of the French aristocracy, Francoise Blin de Bourdon contributed her wealth to the gledgling religious community. Her gift made it possible for te Sisters to establish their first convents and schools and to train their new teachers.

Letter from Development Director

Dear Trinity Family,

I would like to express my gratitude to our faithful supporters for making the 2014-2015 school year one of our most successful fundraising years to date. Each endeavor was received by you with the enthusiastic support that is so typical of Trinity. My list of people to thank grows longer each day and I am grateful for the dedication to Trinity each person brings.Thank you to our board of trustees, chaired by Mary Glagola, for providing Trinity with a firm financial foundation and for paving the way for our successful annual giving campaign.

Thank you parents, for your amazing support of annual giving this year. Our class agents, chaired by grade 8 parent, Krista Geritz, were indispensable. They answered questions, wrote reminders and thank you emails. They were dynamos!

Thank you, faculty and staff, for your participation in the annual giving campaign. You provided tangible proof of your support of the mission and vision of Trinity School.

I especially wish to thank the members of the Events Committee. As committee chairs you are the source of determination and strength for your individual committees and you are perfect examples of how to work as a team for the good of Trinity. I appreciate your willingness to share your expertise with us. Thank you to Tylene Smith (HSA), Laura and Jamie Rudy (5K and Spring Event), Greg Lawrence (Golf Classic), Jennifer Loetell (Scholarship), Lisa Brousseau (Boosters and Trinity Trot), Nikki Zell (Community Committee) and Dan Seal (TAC).

Thank you Grandparents! Your Father-Daughter dance was an over the top hit! Thank you to the grandparents who made the dance such a special time for our young ladies. Special thanks to Kathy Bestany for her leadership of the Grandparents Club.

So as we wrap up the 2014-2015 school year, let’s prepare ourselves to enter the 75th year of Trinity School by focusing on Trinity’s legacy and its future.
