MARCH/APRIL 2018
VOLUME 47 NO. 7/8
Letter to the Congregation from Consistory President
Dear Fellow members,
As Pastor Davies 13 years of ministerial leadership
comes to a close we are excited to enter into the Lenten sea-
son and the exciting process of seeking new leadership.
Yes, we will be seeking our 12th Pastor in our 132 year
history, and the first two pastors stayed only a combined total
of three years.
Since pastor Davies resignation, your consistory has
met with the conference minister, developed a job description
based on input we have been receiving this past year from our
members, and reviewed conference guide lines for compensa-
tion for St Paul’s in 2018 versus 2003 when our last profile
was prepared.
The conference has accepted our input.
On February 4th the congregation was asked to submit
their recommendations for candidates to serve on the Transi-
tion Team to help select an Interim pastor.
We are planning to finalize this team at our March con-
sistory meeting.
In the meantime Keith Wuchter has agreed to lead the
Wednesday evening lent program as he did in 2017 during
Pastor Jack’s medical leave.
Debbie Schaeffer, chair of the Worship Committee, has
detailed our requirements for ministerial leadership for
March, April and May.
Continued on next page……….
Continued from previous page………
We do have some local options available
to us if needed.
In the meantime, I have weekly contact
with the conference minister who assures
me St Paul’s is in good standing at the con-
ference and community level.
“We feel certain we will have a candidate
for you in March.”
As we enter these exciting times we
need your support. If you haven’t been able
to get to St Paul’s for a while, plan to wor-
ship with us once a month or more.
As I have heard repeatedly, St Paul’s is
your church!
After 132 years we can make a differ-
ence. Let’s worship together and please take
a moment each day to pray for St Paul’s and
your extended family of St Paul’s.
REMINDER!!!
Our congregation voted at the an-
nual meeting to continue our
10:15AM service through the sum-
mer this year. Please mark your cal-
endar for this change.
BIBLE STUDY
A bible study group is held at 6:30pm on the first and
third Tuesday of each month. The group explores several
methods of studying the Bible, learns things about it they
likely never knew, and then continues a deep and serious
journey together through the Bible. The group is open to
the public. If you’ve always thought you wanted to take
more time to read and discuss the Bible, then come to-
gether with friends as we explore this amazing gift from
God. We’ll encourage and support each other throughout
this walk and grow in our faith and love of God by feed-
ing regularly and deeply on the Word of God. If you are
interested in joining this group, please see Keith Wuchter.
MARCH 17TH
Women’s Brunch
The annual Women’s Brunch is scheduled for
March 4th following the worship service. This
luncheon is open to all women from St Paul’s.
We will have a representative from Life Choices
in attendance to talk to us about a fundraiser for
their organization. We look forward to seeing all
the women attend this event.

Board of Christian Education
The Board of Christian Education has planned several activities for our students and church families during
the upcoming months. On March 25th the children of the Junior class will be available immediately after worship
for anyone who would like to have their palm branches folded into a cross. This will be a great way to begin our
journey through Holy Week. Then on Easter Sunday, we will be planning a Easter Egg Hunt for the children during
the Sunday School Hour. The children and youth will be observing Earth Day on April 22nd. Plans for this day have
not been finalized as of this date, but there will be an activity for the children.
We would like to thank everyone who attended our Pocket Flag event in February.
GAME NIGHT Come join us on Friday, March 9th and Friday April 13th for a night of fun, friendship and food in Fellowship
Hall from 6 to 10 pm . We will be playing card games such as : Pinochle, Hausy, Canasta, Texas Hold’em, etc. If
you would like to bring your own game (s) that is ok too!! Refreshments and snacks will be served. All donations
will be graciously appreciated.
Hope to see you there!!!!
One Great Hour of Sharing
One Great Hour of Sharing is an offering that makes the love of Christ real for individuals and communities around
the world who suffer the effects of disaster, conflict, or severe economic hardship, and for those who serve them
through gifts of money and time. Today, projects are underway in more than 100 countries, including the United
States and Canada. While specific allocations differ in each denomination, all use their One Great Hour of Sharing
funds to make possible disaster relief, refugee assistance, development aid and more.
On March 11th we will be collecting for this Mission. Look for further information in your bulletins in the upcom-
ing weeks. We live in the midst of the largest refugee crisis since World War II. Please consider donating to this
very worthy Mission. Please use the special envelope included with your March giving envelopes for this Mission.
BOOK CLUB
The book club will be reading ORIGIN by Dan Brown for April 30th. Please plan on attending.
If you have any questions, please see Karen Rhode.
Revelations 3:8
When God leads you to the edge of the
cliff, trust Him fully and let go, only 1 of 2
things will happen, either He'll catch you when
you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly!
Relay for Life
Daffodil’s will be delivered the week of March 20th.
We are also selling the purple signs if anyone is inter-
ested in renewing or buying a new sign. The signs are
$50.00.
Thank you for all your support of Angels of
Hope!!!
Mission Outreach Dinners
The Mission Committee will once again be serving
dinners to the three senior communities in our town.
We are able to provide these dinners thanks to the gen-
erosity of our congregation and the many people who
attend our mission dinners at St Paul’s.
The dates for these meals are as follows:
1. Saucony Cross—February 13th—5PM
2. Wilson Manor—March 13th—5PM
3. Saucony Meadows—April 10th—5PM
Our regular Mission dinner at St Paul’s will be held on
April 25th. We look forward to sharing a meal with
our community.
Lenten Offering – Your Lenten Offering may be
given at any time during Lent thru Easter. You may
use the offering envelope you receive in your March

your name on it.

Thank you!!
Flower and Bulletin Sponsors for 2018
We currently have openings for altar flowers and bulletins in March and April. Bulletins are $15.00 and Flowers
are $35.00 for the sides and $30.00 for the center. Please fill out a Flower Sponsor Information Form if you
want a special request, (color, type, etc). Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE
January 21, 2018 several adventurous people joined the Fellowship Committee in ‘The Land Down Under’.
Those in attendance dined on prawn, pea soup, fish and chips, and snags on the Barbie served with Aussie fried
onions. Australian word scramble, eggs on a spoon obstacle course, cracker flag designing, and Australian trivia
were the activities played by some. As in true Australian style we served Lamington and Palova for dessert.
Pancake Day was celebrated on February 11th. We served breakfast sausages, potatoes, and pancakes. We ate
blueberry pancakes, pineapple upside down pancakes, plain pancakes, and pancakes with banana foster on top.
We learned facts about pancakes playing a trivia game.
On February 18th we wished Pastor Jack well on his next adventure. We celebrated with cake and coffee.
Mark your calendars for March Madness on March 18th. This is definitely not going to be a typical March Mad-
ness.
Also join us on April 22nd for Earth Day.
Fellowship Committee meeting are typically held on the third Monday of the month beginning at 6:30. Everyone
is welcome to join us.
Prayer Links Ministry Update – Until further notice,
prayer requests should be directed to the church office
number – 610-683-3393.
Thank you!!
