Introduction

LexisNexis Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is an automated method of verifying a person's driving history. The MVR contains your order information, individual driver information, and driving history.

Report Header Section

The Report Header section identifies the report sent to you, including the report date and time. It shows the name of the company/individual requesting the report, and the account number billed for this report.

[1] Node/Location: This is the identification that matches your account to this order.

[2] Case ID: This is the unique identifier for this order created by you.

[3] Inquiry Options: This section shows which options were selected with the order submitted.

MVR Type: Specifies the type of order being placed.

Amplified: Specifies whether the order should return an expanded seven years worth of results.

Forced DMV: Specifies whether the order will override any account options with regards to database searches and forward the order to the DMV.

Soundexing: Specifies whether the order should attempt to generate valid driver’s license numbers using rules for specific states.

[4] Sponsor: This identifies the sponsor of the account.

[5] Special Billing ID: This identifies the billing information for this order. This field only appears if your account is setup for it.

[6] Account: This identifies the LexisNexis account number for the order.

[7] Order Reference #: This is the 14-digit number used to identify this report within the MVR system. Use this number when calling for support and when notifying consumers. .

Processing CharacteristicsThe Processing Characteristics section contains general information about how the order was processed.

[8] Processing Date: This specifies date that the order was processed.

[9] Processing Status: This specifies the status of the MVR result and whether information was found or not.

[10] Processing Information: This specifies any additional processing issues that may have been revealed.

[11] Origin: This specifies the original source of the information.

[12] Source: This specifies where the current version of the information was found.

Driver’s License Information Section

This section reports additional information about the license from the state DMV. If the license has more than 3 restrictions, the additional restrictions will be shown in the Miscellaneous and State Specific Information section.

Driving Record SectionThis section covers any information found on the subject’s driving history.

[13] Type: This specifies the type of incident or action:

[14] Violation Date: This specifies the date the violation occurred.

[15] Conviction Date: This specifies the date the conviction was confirmed.

[16] State Violation Code: This specifies the violation code the state assigns to the incident.

[17] Points: This specifies the number of points assigned by the DMV to the incident.

[18] Customer Specific Code: This specifies the unique code that you use to identify the violation.

[19] Violation Severity Code: This specifies the severity of the incident reported according to the SVC.

[20] Driving Record Description: This specifies the incident description that is reported on the subjects driving record specified by the DMV.

[21] Standard Violation Code: This specifies the standardized violation code assigned to the incident reported.

[22] Classification: This specifies the category of the incident reported.

[23] Point Assignment: This specifies the number of standardized points associated with the incident by the SVC.

[24] Additional Underwriting: This specifies any additional underwriting information.

ACCI= Accident PROB= Probation

CANC= License canceled REIN= License reinstated

CONV= Conviction REVO= Revocation

DEPT= Departmental Action SUSP= License suspended

DISQ= Disqualification UNCL= Unclassified

F/R= Financial Responsibility VIOL= Violation

MISC= Miscellaneous WARN= Warning

[25] Commercial Hazardous: This specifies if there were any commercial or hazardous material involvement with the incident according to the SVC.

[26] Speeding: This specifies the speed of the vehicle involved during the incident according to the SVC.

[27] Description: This specifies the standard violation description detailing the incident.

[28] Suspension Date: This specifies the date the license was suspended.

[29] Reinstatement Date: This specifies the date the license was reinstated.

Miscellaneous and State Specific Information Section

This section includes information provided by the state, or other information supplied by LexisNexis.

State Information

States may send the following types of information in this section:

• License information

• Point information

• Restrictions

• Endorsements

• State disclaimers

Examples of State Disclaimers:

• "No violations or departmental actions during this reporting period"

• "No medical or departmental actions during this reporting period"

• "No accidents during this reporting period"

• "Accidents noted on this document shall not be considered determinative of fault or negligence on the part of the individual"

LexisNexis may send messages regarding the following:

• Driver History MVR

• Duplicate Order Check MVR

• MVR Activity Files

• Restricted information

Examples of LexisNexis messages:

Note: This message appears if the driver has restricted personal identification information from being released on his or her MVR.

• Error messages:

If your order encounters an error during processing, an error message will appear on your report indicating the type of problem encountered. In such cases, you will not receive MVR results. If the message begins with "APP ERROR:" or "COMM ERROR:", it indicates that a communications problem occurred before your order could be processed by the MVR application. You should try sending your order again at a later time. If you receive any other error messages, please contact LexisNexis Customer Support at 1-800-456-6432 or via e-mail.
