Invitation to sponsorThe Local Government Association of South Australia (LGA) is the peak body for local government in South Australia and is a not for profit association. The LGA provides leadership and services to councils, and represents the sector to State and Federal governments and other key stakeholders. Membership of the LGA is voluntary, but all 68 of South Australia’s councils are members.
The Association also provides competitive procurement and indemnity (insurance) services to councils through two separate commercial entities, LGA Procurement and LGASA Mutual.
The LGA is governed by a Board of Directors and supported by a secretariat based in Local Government House in Adelaide. The LGA is federated with interstate bodies through the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA), which represents local government’s national interests.
The mission of the LGA is to provide leadership to councils for the benefit of the South Australian community. To achieve this mission the Association has four key areas of activity:• Achieving greater influence for local government in matters affecting councils
and communities.• Working with member councils to build capacity and increase sustainability.• Facilitating continuous improvement in councils and the LGA.• Embed best practice governance and operations to enable the LGA to provide
value to members.
The 2021 LGA Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) is one of two major events held by the LGA where council delegates come together to network, learn, share in innovations and best practice, and participate in decision-making and policy setting meetings for the LGA. To deliver these important annual events, we count on the support of our sponsors and partners.
We invite you, to support this year’s LGA Conference and AGM which includes a formal dinner and is held over two days, Thursday 28 and Friday 29 October, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Event summary
This year’s theme is ‘Beyond the Horizon’ Do we plan for a future that we can see or a future that we want.
Annual General Meeting and Conference
The LGA Annual General Meeting (AGM) traditionally held in October each year, hosts delegates from all 68 councils across South Australia who make attendance a priority.
Key decision makers charged with how and where almost $2 billion will be spent in South Australia in the coming year, will be concentrated in one location.
Conference speakers will actively inspire delegates and demonstrate how to keep at the forefront of innovative practices, providing insights and knowledge which delegates can take back to their councils.
Why participate?InvitationWe’re excited to offer you the opportunity to get in front of the sector’s decision makers and attend this important annual event. As a sponsor we invite you to showcase your goods and or services, and take advantage of the opportunity to meet and build relationships with potential customers from local government across the state, face-to-face.
NetworkingThis two day event provides important informal networking opportunities for local government delegates and includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch and a networking dinner on day one, and morning tea and a formal lunch on day two. Understand the local government environment and strengthen your brand with industry investors, by being present at this event.
PromotionBranding opportunities differ for each level of sponsorship and can be viewed on pages 4 and 5. The audience will be engaged through a down loadable interactive program ‘app’ that is provided free of charge at the event. This app provides unique opportunities for sponsors to engage with audience members and can be used to communicate up to date information via regular alerts.
COVID-19Due to the changing nature of the COVID-19 health response, the LGA will continue to actively monitor health directives and recommendations, and will seek information from official sources to ensure the 2021 LGA Conference and AGM event is delivered in a safe and responsible manner for delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and presenters.
