Days Tranining Program
In the memory of (late) Raja Muhammad Ibrahim CIIT Lahore
Library has arranged a 2 days training program entitled “learn
and lead” on July 27-28, 2016. Dr. On first day, Muhammad
Ramzan, Director Libraries LUMS Lahore talked about the time
management and briefed the audience about how they can
manage your time more effective. Muhammad Irfan, Software
Engineer, CIIT Lahore have great experience to design and
develop different library websites. He shared his experience
with the participants and with the help of template, audience
develop their library website as per guidance by the trainer. Ms.
Tooba Ahmad has currently completed her graduation from
University of Oregon, USA. She was also working as language
instructor and conducted many training on Communication
and Presentation skills at University of Oregon. Her presentation
on "Effective communications and presentation skills" was very
much appreciated by the audience. The session was very
interactive and fruitful.
Ms. Nasree Sultana is renowned library professional and share
d some tools and techniques with the audience. Muhammad
Rafiq Awan helped the participants to get better
understanding about Impact Factor and H-index. Hina Batool
is an eminent academician and researchers delivered a
presentation entitled "Effective Use of Web 2.0 for Library
Marketing and Services". Session was interactive and audience
took keen interest in the session particular question/answer
session. Mansoor Sheraz, Software Engineer, CIIT Lahore
introduced the libguides and its importance in librarianship. He
guided the audience that how the people develop libguides
for their libraries.
Round 40 participants include CIIT library professional’s and
library staff of CIIT Lahore participated the training program.
The contents of the presentation and the way the presenters
his presented were remarkable and all the participants gave
positive response and appreciated the both presentation and
presenter as well. In the concluding session, the shield was
presented to all presenters and certification to all participants.

Library Staff Tour in Islamabad / Murree
After hectic schedule includes stock-taking,
verification of security tags of all library books and LIS
training, the library staff decided to enjoy in shape of
tour. Library staff plan the tour, got approval from
Director and executed on July 29, 2016.
Travel from Lahore to Islamabad was great and staff
enjoyed very much. Next morning, the staff visited CIIT
Islamabad Library and Mr. Muhammad Asif briefed us
about their resources and services followed by tea.
The hospitality of CIIT Islamabad colleagues was great
and we really enjoyed the stay and visit to the library.
Thanks all particular Abdur Rehman sb, Muhammad
Asif sb, Arslan sb and Shahzad sb.
Staff also visited National Library of Pakistan. Mr. Riaz,
Assistant Director briefed us about the library, followed
by visit of National Library of Pakistan. Thanks to Syed
Ghyour Hussain, Director National Library of Pakistan
for arranging us briefing and visit.
Than all the library staff visited Raja Ibrahim's home for
fateha Khani. We were all sad because we lost our
great mentor and guide. May Allah rest his soul in
heaven with peace (aamin).
Library staff also visited Faisal Mosque and Monument
and then proceed towards Murree.
Accommodated in guest house and then take dinner
followed by walk at mall road.
Next day, the staff visited Nathia Gali, Donga Gali and
also walked on water pipe line track. At Ayubia, the
staff also enjoyed with the chair lift. Back in the Sunday
night with lot of beautiful memories and enjoyment.

Development of resource sharing model
All Library Inchages of CIIT shared opportunities for
sharing their resources and services with other
libraries of CIIT. In the session entitled
“Development of resource sharing model:
Challenges and opportunities”, the participants
shared their views about sharing their resources
with others. Abdul Rahim, Senior Librarian CIIT
Islamabad conducted the session and take
decision to uplift the library resources and services.
Dinner @ Memories Restaurant
A courteous dinner for all CIIT colleagues, who
participated in the 2-days training workshop was
arranged by the library staff of CIIT Lahore. The
dinner was held at Memories Restaurant Johar
Town Lahore on July 27, 2016. Thanks for all our
colleagues for joining the dinner and we really had
so much fun with all of our colleagues. The food
was fabulous and yummy. That was a great
evening with joy and networking.
Birthday Celebration
CIIT Lahore Library staff along with Incharge Sir
Tariq Najmi has celebrated the birthday of Mr. Zaib
Hassan. Everyone wished them a wonderful
birthday. We wish you’re every day to be filled with
lots of love, laughter, happiness and the warmth of
sunshine. Ameen.
