Tuesday, Mar. 6 at 6:00 p.m. view the film Generation Zapped,a documentary about the health risks of wireless technology and what you can do to reduce your exposure and protect your family. The screening will be followed by Q&A with Diane Testa. The Cookbook Club meets Tuesday, Mar. 27 at 6:00 p.m. reading and cooking from Taste of Persia by Naomi Duguid. Books will be available to check out at the Front Desk after Mar. 1. Please let us know what you're bringing by Mar. 20 so we do not duplicate recipes. The choice for May is Cooking with Italian Grandmothers by Jessica Theroux. Monday, Apr. 2 at 6:00 p.m. Mike Alimo explains how to plan now to be Tax Free in Retirement. Saturday, Apr. 14 at 10:00 a.m. come to the library for our annual Local Author Fair . Authors will present briefly about their books, followed by a "Meet and Greet" where you can ask questions or purchase titles. Light refreshments will be served. Saturday, Apr. 21 at 10:00 a.m. Celebrate Shakespeare's birthday (Apr. 23) with this dramatic performance by Stephen Collins, bringing the Bard's words to life! Scott Fitzgerald at the Wilbraham Public Library on Saturday, Mar. 24 at 12:00 p.m. This original play sheds light on the mythical life of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, often known as the muse and infamous flapper wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, author of "The Great Gatsby." The play takes place in 1940 when Zelda is living with her mother in Montgomery, Alabama. Her husband Scott has recently died and her Southern belle and flapper days are long since behind her. On the verge of a new year, Zelda will come face to face with her past and her possible future. Rita Parisi has been entertaining audiences for over 20 years in the New England area. She is a proud member of the largest acting union in the country: SAG/AFTRA (formerly the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists). This performance is brought to you by the Friends of the Library. Wilbraham and Hampden are joining together for a community read of The Finest Hours by Michael Tougias. Pick up a copy of the book at either library beginning in April, and join in book discussions and other events at both libraries. Here are a couple of programs hosted by the Wilbraham Public Library: Wednesday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m. a movie matinée features The Finest Hours (MPAA rating PG13). Author Michael Tougias visits on Saturday, May 19 at 12:00 p.m. to share the incredible true story of a Coast Guard rescue operation during the 1952 nor'easter.
