»Nova umetnost« je slovenski prevod francoske besede art nouveau, s katero po svetu največkrat označujejo umetnost, ki se je razvijala po vsej Evropi približno pred sto leti. Pri nas uporabljamo za to umetnost tudi besedo secesija.

Mojstri »nove umetnosti« so oblikovali prav vsak delček stavbe, od same hiše do pohištva, včasih pa celo tapete, ploščice in preproge.

Benvenuto WELCOME PozdravljeniL’Art Nouveau Network è équipe di molte persone che lavorano in 13 città europee, tutti noi condividiamo una passione: l’Art Nouveau. Alcuni di noi sono curatori o direttori di musei, altri sono architetti che restaurano edifi ci, o storici dell’arte che studiano gli artisti e il loro lavoro. In breve, noi tutti vogliamo conoscere meglio gli edifi ci, gli arredi e gli oggetti costruiti circa 100 anni fa. Attraverso l’Art Nouveau Network, studiamo l’Art Nouveau di tutte le città partner. Insieme, scriviamo libri, organizziamo conferenze e allestiamo mostre. Abbiamo anche deciso di realizzare questo libro delle attività in modo che possiate divertirvi scoprendo sia l’Art Nouveau della vostra città sia quella delle altre città partner.

La Commissione Europea comprende 15 paesi Europei che hanno deciso di lavorare insieme in molti modi diversi, su argomenti come la politica, l’economia, l’industria, la scienza, lo sport, l’educazione e la cultura. La Commissione Europea favorisce l’Art Nouveau Network dando parte del denaro necessario per lavorare, per scambiarsi le idee, per pubblicare libri, per allestire mostre e per mostrare l’Art Nouveau a bambini ed adulti.

The Réseau Art Nouveau Network is a large team of people working in 13 European cities. We all share one passion: Art Nouveau. Some of us are curators or directors of museums, others are architects who restore buildings, or art historians who study the artists and their work. In short, we all want to know more about buildings, furniture and objects that were made about 100 years ago. Through the Réseau Art Nouveau Network we study the Art Nouveau of all the partner cities. Together we write books, organise conferences and create exhibitions. We also decided to make this activity book so that you could have fun discovering the Art Nouveau of your own city as well as the other partner cities’.

The European Union brings together 15 European countries that have decided to work together in lots of different ways, in subjects such as politics, economics, industry, science, sport, education and culture. The European Union and the European Commission encourage the Reseau Art Nouveau Network by giving us some of the money needed to work, exchange ideas, publish books, mount exhibitions and show Art Nouveau to children and adults.

Mrežo Art Nouveau (Art Nouveau Network) sestavlja obsežna skupina ljudi, ki delajo v 13 evropskih mestih. Vse povezuje skupna strast: »nova umetnost«. Nekateri med nami so kustosti ali ravnatelji muzejev, drugi arhitekti, ki obnavljajo hiše, ali umetnostni zgodovinarji, ki preučujejo življenje umetnikov in njihovo delo. Skratka, vsi bi radi več vedeli o stavbah, pohištvu in drugih predmetih, ki so bili narejeni pred približno sto leti. Preučujemo »novo umetnost« v vseh mestih, ki so včlanjena v mrežo. Skupaj pišemo knjige, organiziramo srečanja in pripravljamo razstave. GLI ARTIGIANI DI AVIGNONE

Quando gli edifi ci diventano vecchi e quando non sono ben conservati, possono essere in parte danneggiati o addirittura cadere. Noi pensiamo che sia spiacevole che gli edifi ci vecchi e belli non siano ben conservati. Ad Avignone, in Francia, ci sono artigiani molto abili nel riparare o nel restaurare gli edifi ci e tutte le vecchie cose che si trovano all’interno. Restaurare signifi ca che essi riparano il vecchio edifi cio danneggiato nello stesso modo in cui esso fu costruito la prima volta. Gli artigiani di Avignone usano gli stessi disegni e gli stessi materiali dell’originale, vecchio edifi cio.

I nomi degli artigiani di Avignone sono Chris e Judy. A loro piacciono molto gli edifi ci e le cose che hanno 100 anni. Questo stile, e come le cose apparivano, era chiamato il Nuovo Stile o Art Nouveau in francese. A Chris e Judy piacerebbe molto che voi viaggiaste con loro attraverso l’Europa. In ogni città voi potete aiutarli a riparare edifi ci diversi, vecchi edifi ci e altri oggetti. Talvolta potete anche creare qualcosa di completamente nuovo.

THE CRAFTSMEN IN AVIGNON – TO CARE AND REPAIRWhen buildings are getting old, and when people do not take care of them, some parts can become damaged or even fall down. We think that it is sad if old, beautiful buildings are not looked after. But there are some craftsmen who are very good at repairing or restoring buildings and all the old things inside them. To renovate a building means that you change the old building, but when you restore, it means that you repair the damage on an old building, keeping all valuable details in their original shape. In this book you will meet two craftsmen from Avignon in France, who use the same designs and the same materials as the original, old buildings once had.

The craftsmen from Avignon are called Chris and Judy. They very much like buildings and things that are 100 years old. This style, how things looked, was called the New Style or Art Nouveau in French. Chris and Jude would like you to travel with them all over Europe. In each city you can help them to repair different, old buildings and other objects. Sometimes you can even create something totally new.

AVIGNONSKA MOJSTRA – ZA VZDRŽEVANJE IN POPRAVILAČe nihče ne skrbi za hiše, ki se starajo, potem na njih nastajajo poškodbe in nazadnje se lahko celo podrejo. Mislimo, da je zelo žalostno, če se nihče ne briga za čudovite stare hiše. Obstajajo pa mojstri, ki znajo zelo dobro popravljati in restavrirati hiše in vse stare stvari v njih. Prenavljati hišo pomeni, da staro hišo spreminjate, če pa jo restavrirate, pomeni da popravljate poškodbe na stari hiši in da ohranite vse vredne detajle v prvotni obliki. V tem vodniku boste spoznali mojstra iz francoskega mesta Avignon, ki uporabljata pri delu iste oblike in iste gradbene materiale, kot jih je stara stavba nekoč imela.

Mojstroma iz Avignona je ime Chris in Judy. Zaljubljena sta v sto let stare hiše in predmete. Chris in Judy vas bosta vzela s seboj križem kražem po Evropi in v vsakem mestu jima boste lahko pomagali pri popravljanju starih hiš in drugih predmetov, tu in tam pa boste lahko ustvarili tudi kaj čisto novega.

This Pharmacy is in the city of Helsinki in Finland. Cabinet makers, joiners and carpenters all helped to create the interior of the pharmacy, but unfortunately it was destroyed. Judy who is working on restoring the interior cannot fi nd the details. Can you help her to fi nd the four details in the interior? If you want you can also colour it in. In this Pharmacy the craftsman who made the shelf was a cabinet maker. The shelf is standing in a room made by a different craftsman, the joiner. The room is made of wood and it needed another craftsman to cut down the trees from the forest - the logger.

Na Dunaju v Avstriji je dokončana samo polovica zapornice. Pomagajte jo Chrisu zgraditi tako, da bosta obe polovici videti enako. Gre namreč za simetrično hišo, to je táko, ki je na obeh straneh enaka – tako kot vaš obraz. Če bi bila asimetrična, potem bi bila vsaka stran drugačna.
