The first member of the new ModulT family is the new trailer brake
Haldex DBT22LT. Weighing in at a mere 31 kg – including the brake
pads – it is the lightest 22.5” trailer brake on the market, a whole
5 kg lighter than ModulX. DBT22LT is just the beginning. It will soon be
followed by 19” and 22.5” versions for buses and trucks.
There’s more. DBT22LT meets the toughest demands on low weight,
combined with outstanding performance. Consider this:
a brake weighing 31 kg delivers all the way up to 20 kNm of brake
torque.
This relationship between weight and brake torque enables an
exceptionally broad field of applications. And the low weight makes our
brake particularly attractive for torque-demanding applications.

Our experience from the successful ModulX family has generated the totally unique design of the new Haldex Air Disc Brake ModulT. Thanks to this design, ModulT achieves twin-tappet performance with a single-tappet mechanism. The new, super-efficient single-tappet mechanism also assures excellent pressure distribution. The result – in addition to superior braking capability – is the same even, perfect load distribution on the brake pads as with ModulX.
Smart design for maximum cost efficiencyThe experience gained from ModulX
also appears in the stainless sliding pins and the lubrication-free bearings. And the smart design of the Haldex Air Disc Brake ModulT entails fewer components. The new brake has just two sliding pins (instead of four) and a completely closed caliper.
All this results in a highly cost-efficient solution – with a long service life – that meets very high demands on quality and performance.
Another innovative design aspect is the boltless snap-on brake pad retainer fitment, simplifying brake pad replacement. The entire construction requires just two
bolts. Service and maintenance is quick and easy. Which means shorter vehicle standstills with the Haldex Air Disc Brake ModulT.
Low weight, superior performance and a single-tappet mechanism with the same good performance as our well-known twin-tappet model. These are the most important features of the Haldex Air Disc Brake ModulT. Features that make our brakes a truly cost-efficient solution with a very broad field of applications.
The relationship between weight and brake torque gives the ModulT a very broad field of applications, making the DBT22LT suitable both for semi-trailers and drawbar trailers.
