Newsletter Thursday 3rd February 2011
Welcome to this week’s newsletter.
Thankfully Spring is here after a long, cold winter.
We are finally back open after all the building & renovations.
We have a lovely fresh, new look centre. Pop in for a look, a chat and a
cuppa.
TrainingWriting Classes at LINC starts Saturday 19th February 11-1pm
We spend a large part of every day listening to stories, telling stories, reading
stories and watching stories...but how many of these stories truly capture your
experience of life?
Wouldn't you love if more of the stories you encountered told a tale similar to
yours...about falling in love with a woman, coming out to your family and friends,
leaving a heterosexual marriage to follow your heart, raising children with
another woman, transitioning from one gender to another?Maybe it's time you told your story.
For twelve weeks, author Nicola Depuis (Mna na hEireann, Mercier Press, 2009)
will be facilitating a Saturday morning class during which the art of storytelling
will be explored. Participants will be guided from their initial ideas to the full
realisation of their ideas in story form. Classes will be informal and interactive so
that everyone should feel welcome.
In 2011, LINC hope to publish a book of Coming Out stories. These writing
classes are the perfect place to start for anyone who feels she has a story to tell.
LINC Gallery Space
The new and improved LINC now has beautiful bare walls. We would like to offer
space to community artists to display their work on the white wall behind Tina’s
desk. We propose offering a six week exhibition slot. If you would like to put your

This is a social group for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, or
Questioning) women in Cork and the surrounding areas, who share common
interests and want to get to know more women.
This is not a dating site .... Any LGBTQ woman over 18 can sign up, see what
social or group events are being organised or make suggestions for events to be
organised!
Please bear with us while I get used to the technology involved here.
