Lets talk about your summary- a summary should include 4 areas what you do, why you love what you do, the value you provide to your organization, and a little more about yourself, personally. This is a huge opportunity to showcase your companys talent brand and why you love working where you do.

This is where you can really tell the story of what it is like to work at your company. Use your own work experience to engage candidates in why you love to work there and why they will too.

Now, you can make your summary even more powerful by adding rich media. Ive seen great summaries that include employee testimonials, tours of the office, etc. Use this space to help start influencing your candidates toward your organization by showcasing your company brand

TALENT SOLUTIONS

Demonstrate your expertise and build awareness of you & your organization by sharing and commenting on content on LinkedIn.

Make it a goal to share or comment on at least one piece of information daily. Two things to do each day to find content youd like to share:

On your LinkedIn homepage (once youve signed in), your news feed will include the latest from the groups, companies and Influencers you follow. Scan through and see what snags your interest!

Keep an eye out for the inShare button on your daily reads. When you find an you want to share, you can share it right from the article itself via the InShare Link and let your network know you found it valuable. You can choose to share it on your Profile, within specific groups youre a part of, or in a private message to individuals. Add in a comment on your thoughts or main takeaways then hit Share.

It's back to the Golden Rule: If you engage with several of your connections every day, those same connections will start to listen to what you have to say. And if they like the content you're sharing, they will be more likely to share, comment or like your stuff too! Mix it up and choose different connections to remark on each time, and you'll have a large -- yet engaged -- network in no time.

All simple and important opportunities to position yourself as a thought leader and information source.

Turn on/off your activity broadcasts

Don't want your contacts to know that you're updating your LinkedIn profile, it's a good idea to turn off your activity broadcasts. Unselect the checkbox in this option to hide when you make changes to your profile.

See who can see your activity feed

You can also change who can view your activity feed. Options include:

Everyone whether they are connected to you or not

Your Network 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree connections

Your Connections only those connected to you

Only You - nobody will be able to view your updates.

Select what others see when youve viewed their profile The "Who's Viewed Your Profile" feature helps you understand who's been looking at your profile in the last 90 days, how many times you have shown up in search results, and other insights. The two options to choose from are:

Display name, headline, location and industry. If you select this option you receive the profile statistics for free, however other users will see when youve visited their profile.

Display as an anonymous LinkedIn Member. If you select this option you will NOT receive the profile statistics for free and users will not see when youve visited their profile. You can get the profile statistics if you purchase a premium account.

Select who can see your connections

The default on this LinkedIn setting it that your first-degree connections can see all of your connections. This means that if you connect with a recruiter, they will be able to go through your contacts.

Change this setting to Only You to only show your connections the people you have in common (i.e. they must already know the person to see that you have connected with them).
