Rectangular, stop chamfered and splayed end lintels.

140mm lintels: maximum length in 1 no. piece to 1642mm. 100 wide - 28kg/m. 125 wide - 35kg/m.

215mm lintels: maximum length in 1 no. piece to 2850mm (Except stop-chamfered, which is 2750mm). 100 wide - 42kg/m. 125 wide - 54kg/m.

Lintels are supplied 100mm on bed to suit brick or Bradstone walling finishes or 125mm on bed to suit render finish.

Rectangular and stop-chamfered lintels

Lintels which are reinforced for structural (loadbearing) purposes have a maximum uniformly distributed loading capacity of 3kN per metre run.

Bearing requirements for 140mm high lintels:

• up to and including 1642mm: 150mm at each end

Bearing requirements for 215mm high lintels:

• up to and including 2100mm: 150mm at each end

• over 2100mm: 215mm at each end

Splayed end lintels

Lintels are reinforced for handling purposes only and must be supported by other structural steel lintels designed and supplied by others.

Key aggregates and recycled content

Components comprising naturally occurring locally sourced aggregates (to BS EN 12620:2002 except grading and silt contents for fine aggregates), Ordinary Portland Cement (to BS EN 197: Part 1:1996), Colouring pigments (to BS EN 12878:1999) and appropriate admixtures.

Generic green guide rating

There is currently no generic rating in the BRE green guide for cast stone walling.

Installation standard

CIS 37, recommends that for repetitive manual handling of masonry units, the unit weight should typically be no greater than 20kg. Bradstone Structural Solutions produce all 100mm solid units below 20kg. Quoin blocks weigh approximately 23kg and should be restricted to a maximum laying rate of 15 units/hour.

Maintenance and cleaning

Aggregate Industries can supply on request advice on general maintenance. Aggregate Industries also offer an anti-graffiti coating service which will protect solid, absorbent and painted surfaces against graffiti attack and other contamination.
