LITERACY:
In line with the recent passing of school
holidays, we are beginning a draft to our own personal
RECOUNT. You may like to chat with your child
about some events that took place during their
holiday to refresh their memory in order to add detail in
their work.
NUMERACY:
Our first Maths topic for this term is “Chance”. This
week we have looked at identifying everyday events
that involve chance while learning about the specific
language related to the topic such as:
‘probability’, ‘impossible’, ‘certain’ and more!
TOPIC: “Celebrations Around
the World”
We have now begun our Term 4 Topic—
Celebrations Around the World! This
week we have focused on exploring what a celebration
is and how different people celebrate.
The Grade 4 celebration focus is: DIWALI— A Hindu festival from India. Students made their own
Rangoli designs to add to our school corridor display.
WANTED! WANTED! WANTED!
Do you have old video recorders, DVD
players, old drills or any small electronic
item that is no longer needed?
WHY…? Our Grade 5/6 Technology Elective
will be pulling these items apart to discover
the inside workings.
Please no computer screens or TV screens.
If you do have any item we could use please bring it to Daniel at the school office.
Many thanks
Basil Kehayas
TECHNOLOGY ELECTIVE
In Term 1 and 4 students are required to wear a slouch or bucket hat
with a minimum brim of 5 cm. The hat must be navy but it does not
need to be a school hat.
If students do not have a hat by Monday we will be required to make
contact with you regarding the matter. Unfortunately students who do
not have a hat in Week 2 will need to stay in the courtyard at recess
and at lunch play will need to go to their buddy grade (Grade 1’s).
Please help us to make sure your child is staying sun-smart
throughout our sunnier months and do not miss out on the
great weather ahead!
