Expanded (Locked) Auxiliary Tubes: Thesetubessupportthecoilwithfinsandrefrigerantcarryingtubes.Theydonotcarryrefrigerantandaretightlyfittedonendsupportsandcentersupports.

Free Floating Circuited Coil Tubes: Thesetubescarryrefrigerantandnevertouchandsheetmetal(endsupportsandcentersupports).

AllcondensersusetheFloatingTube™CoilDesigntoeliminaterefrigerantleaksatthetubesheets.Additionaltubesareaddedtothecondensercoil.Thesetubesareexpandedintothealuminumfinsandcondensertubesheets.Theseanchortubessupporttheweightofthecoil,butarenotapartoftherefrigerantcircuit.

Thetubesintherefrigerantcircuitareexpandedintothefins,but“float”throughoversizedholesinthetubesheets.Tubesheetleaksarevirtuallyeliminated,sincethetubeswhichcarryrefrigerantnevercomeincontactwiththetubesheet.

AllLDV,LDDunitsincludealimitedFive-Year Warranty

Beacon II™ Smart Controller isanoptional systemmonitoring and programming controldevice. It allows for adjustments tobemadeat thepushofabutton froma conveniently mounted location.BeaconII™SmartControlleralsoallowsyou to monitor and make changes tothe refrigeration system via modemconnectionfromanywhereintheworld.OneSmartControllercanprogramandcontroluptofourcondensingunitswithuptofourevaporatorsoneachsystem.That’smorecontrolinyourhands!

The patented Beacon II™ Smart Defrost system,availablewithSmartControllersisuniquelydesignedtopredictfrost accumulation and initiates defrosts only when they areneeded.Italsoinitiatesdefroststoreacttooperationanomalies,like product deliveries and product pull-down. Typical electricdefrostsystemshave4defrostsperday.UsingtheSmartDefrostsystemcanreducethenumberofdefroststo0,1,or2perday.That’s a 75% reduction on average. This greatly reduces theamountofenergyusedand in turnreducesoperatingcosts.

Beacon II™ Smart II Software makesiteasytoadjustandmonitoroneormorerefrigerationsystemsaswellascaptureminutebyminutesystemconditions.ThisWindows-basedsoftwareallowsyou toconnect to theBeacon II™SmartController fromanywhereintheworldtomonitorthesystems,makeadjustmentsandlogminutebyminutesystemconditions.Thisdataloggingcapabilityiscriticalinthefoodserviceindustry.

The Need For Head Pressure Control

Refrigerationcondensingunitsmustefficientlyperformatvaryingambientconditions.Aproperlysizedunitwilladequatelyperformateventhehighestsummerambienttemperatures.However,insituationswherethesystemmustoperatethemajorityofthetimeatlessthandesigntemperature,ameansofprovidingadequateheadpressureforrefrigerantflowisdesirable.TheLDV&LDDunitshaveanadjustableResourceIImethodofheadpressurecontrol.

Resource IIisLarkin’smostenergyefficientlowambientheadpressurecontrol.Thissystemprovidesyearroundcontrolofrefrigerantheadpressurewithouttheuseofspecialrefrigerantexpansionvalves.

Resource IIcombinesthebenefitsofrefrigerantsubcoolingandreduceddischargedpressureduringmildambientconditions.Astheambienttemperaturefalls,thereceiverpressureisallowedtofalltoaminimumof75°Fsaturatedcondensingpressure.Thereduceddischargepressureatthecompressorincreasesthecompressorcapacityandlowerstheinputwattsfromthecompressormotor.ResourceIIalsousesthereducedambienttemperaturetosubcooltheliquidrefrigerantinthecondenser.Thissubcooledliquidalsoincreasessystemcapacity.Asageneralrule,everyonedegreeofsubcoolingresultsina0.50%increaseinsystemcapacity.Togethertheseresultingreaterefficiency,greatercapacity,andreducedruntime.

Operation

Astheambienttemperaturefalls,thesystemcondensingpressureisalsoreduced.Thispressureismaintainedbyaregulator(ORI-6-65/225)atthecondenserdrain.Atapproximately75°Fsaturatedcondensingpressuretheregulatorrestrictstheflowofliquidrefrigerantfromthecondensercausingthecondensertoflood.Thiscondenserfloodingallowstheliquidrefrigerantinthecondensertobecomesubcooledbytheambientairflowingthroughthecondenser.Astheregulatorcontinuestofloodthecondenser,apressuredifferentialwillbeestablishedbetweenthereceiverandthecompressordischarge.Atapredescribeddifferential,asecondvalve(ORD-4)willopenandallowdischargegasfromthecompressortobypassthecondenserandflowintothetopofthereceiver.Thisgasisusedtopressurizethereceiver.

Boththeinletandoutlettubesofthereceiverhavediptubeswhichareimmersedinliquidrefrigerant.Theliquidinthereceiveractsasaninsulatorfromthevaporareaofthereceiver.ThisuniquedesignminimizesthecontactofthehotgasusedtopressurizethereceiverthroughtheORD-4valve.Thisallowsbypassvaportopressurizethereceiverwhilereheatofthesubcooledliquidisminimized.

Subcooledliquidisfurtherenhancedbytheroutingofliquidfromthereceiverliquidlineoutlettothecondenserbeforeleavingthecondensingunit.

SingleVerticalAirDischargeCondensingUnitTheLDVseriesutilizesthebaseaircooledcondenserdesignintheRC6/RC8seriesofcondensers.Byborrowingthedesignofthethoroughlytested,FloatingTube™coildesigncondensersagreatdealofdesignintegrityisimmediatelyincorporatedintothisseriesofunits.Theproductisdesignednotonlytogiveoutstandingoperationalperformancewithtoday'sHFCandHCFCrefrigerants,butitisalsodesignedtobeeasilytransportedandriggedintoposition.Andmostimportantly,theLDVisdesignedutilizinginputfromservicecontractors,theresultbeingaproductwhichcanbeinstalledandmaintainedwithoutmanyofthehasslesinvolvedinolderproductdesigns.

Thedesignutilizesmanyfeatureswhichareincorporatedtoprovideareliableproduct.

• Allcommonserviceablecontrols(pressurecontrols/time clocksetc.)arelocatedinaseparateelectrical compartmentfromthemainelectricalbox.Thisallowsease ofservicewithoutdisconnectingpowertotheunit• Agenerousamountofclearancehasbeendesignedunder thecondensersectionoftheunit.Coilcleaningand componentservicearemadeeasy• 3/8inchcondensercoils(except3501&4001)provide efficientperformancewithminimalpressuredropand refrigerantcharge• TheLDVseriesofunitsisconfiguredsuchthataminimal numberofstandardcomponentsarepre-configuredintothe basedesign.Thisallowsforcustomizationofaparticular unittosuittheneedsoftheapplication• LDVmodelsarealsoavailablewithoversizedcondensers.
