Bulletin Lochinvar Public School
A unique school achieving success.
END OF 2011 The end of the school year is almost here. The last week of
school is always a busy and exciting one for students, parents
and teachers. We have a number of important events planned
for this week and details are included in this bulletin or have
already been sent home.
To our year 6 students, I wish you all a fond farewell. We say goodbye to you
knowing that we have given you a positive view of yourselves, a quality
primary education and the ability to make new friends easily and the courage
to meet new challenges with confidence. Good luck in your new schools, be
proud of your time at Lochinvar primary school and take every opportunity
offered in the future no matter how small.
As this is the last Bulletin for 2011, I take this opportunity to thank everyone
for their continued co-operation and support for the school and I wish you all a
Merry Christmas and a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday season.
YEAR 6 FAREWELL
(MONDAY) Monday night was a big night for our year 6
students and their families. A large number of
family and friends enjoyed a special night with
our senior students to wish them well in their
future at high school.
The Farewell was held at the Maitland City
Bowling Club.
I would like to give a special thank you to the
Year 6 parents who spent time to help organize and
decorate the room for this special night, it looked
fantastic.
Year 6 students will be given an informal “exit”
from the school on Friday afternoon at 2:50.
Parents are welcome to come along and help
“send them off” in this special way.
Bring lots of tissues!!!

C IRCUS FUN SCHOOL PARTY DAY
(THURSDAY) All students may come out of uniform on Thursday for our party day.
We have a number of fun and exciting activities planned, so please
make sure that students have enclosed footwear and appropriate play
clothes (please no singlet tops). Our day will commence at 9:30 with a
juggling show, presented by Corey Tomlins and then we have a
variety of activities, both indoor and outdoor, for students to move through up till recess.
Lunch time will be 12:00 on Thursday with a short fruit break earlier. The P&C have offered to
provide a sausage sizzle for lunch that day for all the students at school.
We are asking if any parents have a spare hour that day to assist with the
BBQ we would appreciate your help. All teachers are busy with student
activities, so we need the help of anyone who can spare the time. Please let
Pat know if you are able to help out.
Students can bring along party type snack food to share at lunch and recess
as students will join their teacher and class for a picnic style lunch
outdoors. (weather permitting). Please make sure the party food does not
need heating as this will be very difficult to manage.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT AND CAROLS N IGHT
(W EDNESDAY) Wednesday evening will be our annual Concert evening. Students will
perform as a school and individual classes have also prepared an item or
two for your enjoyment. In between our class items will be the chance to
sing along with students to our favourite Christmas carols. Bring along
your fold up chair, Santa hat and singing voices
to enjoy our Concert and carols night. Drinks will be available at the canteen as
will the last of our glow sticks (50c).
Our monster raffle will be drawn at the conclusion of the concert. Don’t forget
to send in your raffle tickets before then. Prize numbers have increased with
additional items so there will be 18 prizes to be won. You cannot win if you are
not in it, so buy your tickets and return the stubs and money to school.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL (FRIDAY) This is always a relaxed day for students and a sad one for year 6. If we haven’t already taken home
books and equipment, then it will be sent home on Friday. If you are planning on your child being
absent these days, please let us know so that we can send home his or her school books earlier in the
week.
Please note the dates on the side of the bulletin for the commencement of the 2012 school year and
any other important dates early in the school year.
INDUSTRIAL ACTION The NSW Teachers Federation has called for industrial action in the form of a 2 hour stop work
meeting on Thursday, 15th December 2011. Lochinvar Public School will be open. This day is our
Circus fun day and we will be proceeding with the fun day as planed.
