LOCOMOTIVE DC PLUG INSTALLATION
Enclosed you will find your requested DC 21-Pin Circuit Board Plug for installation in your InterMountain locomotive. Follow the shell removal instructions provided for your locomotive. The ES44AC/DC shown here. Installation of this DC Plug will modify your locomotive to be powered by DC only. This should allow your locomotive to run complimentary with non-decoder equipped locomotives when run in a DC environment. NOTE: Once installed the locomotive will NOT operate in a DCC environment.

SHELL REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS
ES44AC units:
1. The handrail is attached to the cab and deck that will be removed by this process.Loosen the handrails from their attached positions as indicated by the arrows in theimage, this needs to be completed for both sides. Also remove the handrailsfrom the nose of the locomotive as indicated.
2. To remove the shell, firmly grip the fuel tank area and the center area of the body. Gentlyrock the shell side to side to release the holding tabs and liftstraight up. Watch that the handrails do not get caught on the body deck or cab while being lifted off.

3. NOT REQUIRED FOR DC PLUGINSTALLATION: Once you have thebody off you will have full access to thecircuit board, speaker (sound units only),trucks, and light circuits. If you need toremove the skirt deck, remove the four (4)screws holding in the light boards (asindicated by the arrows). The light boardswill then release allowing skirt to be liftedoff.
4. Locate the decoder indicated by the arrows and unplug it.
5. After the decoder is removed install the 21-Pin DC Circuit Board plug into the socket.
6. Test your locomotive with a DC power supply to validate operation.7. To reinstall the body shell just reverse the previous instructions.
