Ranks poorly in indicators measuring the sophistication of
logistics as well as externalization of logistics activities
Greece does not compare well with its neighbours or its
competitors in logistics performance.
Greece tends to perform less well than Turkey, Romania or even
countries from the Southern rim of the Mediterranean
Greece performs relatively less well than countries with similar
per-capita income
Greece is on par with Eastern European logistics systems

Objective is to help Greek companies to benefit from a system
that allows to form professionals with the skills needed
To meet best quality standards for manufacturers and distributors
willing to use Greece as European/Mediterranean logistics hub
A specific need expressed by businesses was to identify the most
urgently needed professions in logistics.
A recent survey (SEV) identified tasks that are predominantly
middle-management.
Need to survey existing stakeholders in Greece in more detail

….If you have the ambition to become part of our world class
operation and develop a career in Supply Chain you will need
to have achieved at least a 2:1 or equivalent in mechanical,
chemical or manufacturing engineering, Supply Chain or
Operations Management and as of 2012, a minimum 300
UCAS points or equivalent and speak fluent English. A degree
in chemistry or post qualification in supply chain or logistics
will also be considered. You must also have strong
interpersonal skills to work with colleagues across functions,
cultures and at different levels within the business.
Comfortable working in a team, you will need strong project
management and analytical skills and be comfortable working
on multiple projects with new groups that could be based in
different locations. A second European language would be
desirable but not essential…..
