Background: White Paper and Health Bill

• Abolition of PCTs and SHAs;

• Establishment of NHS Commissioning Board, and GP Commissioning consortia;

• Transfer of responsibility for public health to local government;

• Establishment of Health & Wellbeing Boards;

• Greater emphasis on ‘choice’ under Any Qualified Provider.

• Health, Wellbeing Boards and our involvement;• Clinical networks and senates – strengthen our

involvement;
