Parent Helper Thank You Morning Tea Wednesday 13 December We extend a warm invitaon to all parent helpers to a thank you morning tea during recess, from 10.40am-11.10am, in the SALC on Wednesday 13 December. Your contribuons to this wonderful school are greatly appreciated and we wish to show our thanks. Please let your class teacher or the office know if you will be aending. Thank You Parent Club All staff would like to extend their thanks to Parent Club for the beauful morning tea provided on Wednesday. Your thanks and best wishes for Christmas were very much appreciated. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Liz Laws for her dedicaon and support as President of Parent Club for the last two years. At the Parent Club AGM on Wednesday all posions were filled for 2018. President: Lisa Grant Vice President: Lyndl Harrop Secretary: Tara Bertovic Treasurer: Nadine McFadries 2018 Annual Implementaon Plan Our 2018 AIP is complete and has been endorsed by our SEIL Sarah Burns and School Council. Details regarding the goals, targets and key improvement strategies of our 2018 AIP will be expanded on in the new year. Prep–Year 4 Swimming Carnival Last Friday our swimming program concluded with a swimming carnival which was a huge success. I am proud to say we had many reports from parents and teachers about students demonstrang outstanding sportsmanship, resilience and support for each other. A huge thanks to Lucy Farmer, Joe Lilburne, Sam Robinson and all staff and parent volunteers for their hard work and support throughout the two week program. Student Led Conferences Our Student Led Conferences are well under way. Students have enjoyed showcasing their learning achievements with their parents and celebrang the growth they have made throughout the year. Semester Two Reports A reminder to all families that Semester Two reports were open to parents via Compass at 4.00pm on Friday 1 December. Leadership Speeches Last Friday Year 5 students showcased their leadership and public speaking skills as they presented their 2018 School Captain speeches. The speeches were outstanding and it was an absolute pleasure to listen to each of the candidates. I would like to congratulate the Year 5 teaching team for the support they provided their students in the preparaon of the leadership speeches. Outdoor Learning Space You will have noced the progress of the new outdoor learning space and we are very close to finishing what will be a great addion to our school. We are all looking forward to our carols night where the students will showcase their singing talents on the deck for the first me. Stationery Lists Stationery Lists were sent home with students on 20 November. If you need a new stationery list you can find them on our website at http://www.beaups.vic.edu.au/page/75/Forms. Orders are to be made online by 11 December 2017. Ordering instructions can be found on each of the order forms. Late orders will incur a $14.95 surcharge fee. If you prefer you may source the items yourself, please let the office staff know if you are following this option. Packs will be delivered to your child’s classroom for the start of Term 1. In Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 classes all stationery resources are shared so nothing needs to be taken home and named. In Years 3 to 6 the teacher will send certain items home with your students in the first week of term that require naming. Library Thank you to everyone who have returned their books to the library. Beaumaris Primary School offers Private Instrumental Music lessons during school hours. Lessons are conducted by local music school Poco Music. Instrumental lessons are offered in Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, Bass, Drum kit, Strings and Singing. Lessons are taught by fully qualified teachers in a fun environment. At Poco Music we believe every child deserves the right to start out life with a quality music education. Music lessons run most days of the week. All lessons are private 30 min classes catering to the students’ individual needs. Lessons are taught in a fun environment focusing on learning how to read music notation, working through method books and learning fun contemporary songs that engage students. We also prepare students for AMEB and ANZCA music exam grading. Once Students are competent with playing a few chords and notes Rock Bands will commence and rehearse weekly at lunchtimes and afterschool.
