So Dani, as some of our readers know, you were in Love Music Magazine last summer. What have you been doing since then?

Lots; I’ve recently got back from my first live shows in Russia. That was really fun although obviously the social and political climate in Russia at the moment is very tense. My favourite show out there was at BB Kings Club in Moscow, a really vibey venue with blues memorabilia all over the walls and an audience longing to lose themselves in the music, singing and clapping along. I’ve also been in the recording studio lots recording album number four. I’ve been lucky to work with some incredible musicians on in from Fergus Gerrand (Drums/Percussion for Madonna and Sting) to Janos Bajtala (Keys for Jimmy Ruffin) and Roger Inniss (Bass for Chaka Kahn). Having crossed over to the I-tunes country music chart top 40 with my last two single releases I’m really embracing all of my favourite genres on my new record from Gospel to Country to Blues and making sure it’s all about real songs with strong hooks and melodies and lyrics that people can relate to in their own way. We know you have an unplugged tour, of the UK, with Todd Sharpville (and Genghis) coming up in May. Can you tell us how this collaboration came about?

I’ve known of Todd Sharpville and his music for about a decade now but I didn’t get to meet him in person until a few years ago at a blues festival in Torquay. More recently we started chatting over Facebook and were enjoying talking music and sending each other our new and unreleased album recordings. I was blown away by Todd’s latest material which is really stripped back with hauntingly beautiful songs and vocal performances some of which is just him and piano. Todd must’ve liked my new material too because he asked me to come up to London to sit in with him at a gig and to do some songwriting and that is how this tour came about. Tell us more about the tour and where you will be visiting?

Well, the tour consists of Myself, Todd and Genghis (Todd’s gorgeous little dog who travels everywhere with him and who we have named the tour after). We’re going to play a mixture of our new material, backing eachother up as well as some duets; I love singing in harmony with Todd and our voices compliment eachother well; he adds the rough to my smooth. What I really love though about the acoustic tour is the intimacy of the shows and the way we strip the songs bare to deliver them which makes it all feel rather magical. We have already played two pre-tour shows up in Yorkshire which was great fun and our next show is up near Liverpool at the start of May. We will be all over the country throughout May and June. So Todd, can you tell us a bit more about how your side of this tour came about?

Well, Dani and I have been hanging out a lot socially of late, which inevitably has lead to a fair amount of jamming round my piano at home. We share a great deal in common when it comes down to our influences and our musical instincts. It didn't take long before we realised we sound really good together. Free & easy, spontaneous, soulful. I've always separated musicians into two camps, those who play to impress and those who play to express. Dani (like all my close musician friends) is very much the latter. It bears well with me because I've always come from the Peter Green school of blues guitar thinking. Audiences prefer to witness genuine vulnerability, genuine heart. It makes such a difference, giving them a real part of yourself & connecting with the crowd in a deeper, more intimate way. I'm looking forward to the tour, it'll be very special. We have heard Genghis is quite popular! Will he actually be on stage with you on the tour?

Indeed, it appears he's not only adored by me but also by all my fans too! He has his own passport so he travels around the world with me. He occupies his own seat in my tour bus and I pretty much only use the airlines that allow him to travel in the cabin with me (because he's under 6kg, a fair few airlines allow him to travel in a container under the seat in front of me). He likes to sit on stage with me at all my gigs... He also likes to pop out into the crowd to give the audience a personal hello. He has his own Facebook page now (as a public figure!) and seems to have already amassed more fans than many bands have these days: https://www.facebook.com/genghissharpville You have been called the Bruce Springsteen of the blues by the New York Times- how does it feel to receive such a compliment?

I did a couple of shows at the Bottom Line in New York ten years ago... Considering how they'd gladly canonise Springsteen over there if they could, it was an awe inspiring compliment to receive from such an intelligently written broadsheet. I like to deliver as personal a show as I can; give people a genuine emotional experience as opposed to simply performing at them as many artists these days do. I prefer to think of my audiences as being friends of mine in my living room at home who I'm hosting. It allows for more intimacy & more of an honest representation of who I am. I guess the NYT was referring to that element of my performance style.

Can you tell the readers a bit more about you? My name is Kemi Aneke I’m a 16 year old singer songwriter from East London currently studying music at the Brit School for Performing Arts. I've been doing music from as long as I can remember. The first time I performed I was seven years old and it was at my Primary schools Xfactor competition and I actually won! We love your track, 'Before You Go', can you tell us more about it? Yeah, it is produced by a Ossie, who is also my older brother and DJ. I originally heard the track at the end of last year, Ossie was going through beats that he had produced but wasn't going to use. When I first heard it, I loved the bass line, then he gave it to me. It has such a nice vibe to it.. the song is written by me and Black orange (brothers group). At the time I was listening to a lot of Erykah Badu and Jill Scott and they inspire my music. The honesty of there lyrics inspire me. It’s not about me personally but being the youngest of four I'm surrounded by relationships of all sorts and that helped my vision. What has been the best piece of advice that you have been given about the music industry? Hmmmm…. the best advice I've been given was to take my time and not leap to soon! If you had the opportunity to collaborate with anyone, who would it be any why? This is a tricky question. There are so many. like…. there’s Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Lianne La Havas, Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, Laura Mvula, Elle Varner and Kelela this is a hard question. But I had to choose on it have would have to be Jill Scott. Her voice is golden! What is coming up for you this year? Well in terms of music , I’m going to keep doing open mics and as many gigs as possible (I’m open for bookings). I'm trying to gain new and diverse experiences. This year all is about meeting like minded musicians, I also want to experiment with my writing and developing my style. If you had one superpower for the day, what would it be and why? Omgggggggg this such a hard question. I like the idea of being able to switch someone off when the’re talking too much! If there's a superpower that can do that for me, that’s the one I’ll have. Follow me on twitter and listen to my new track on my sound cloud page! Twitter - @kemianeke Soundcloud-Kemimusic Follow my Brother on Twitter too, he’s dope! @Ossieonline

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about the band? We are a Galway based band, our music in a fusion of rock, indie, blues and roots. The band members are Laura Thomas on guitars, mandolin, piano and vocals, Eoin Ó Conghaile on bass guitar, electric guitar and backing vocals and Damien Quinn on guitars and percussion. Since the release of our debut EP Scoop, we have cultivated a strong following at home in Galway and abroad with regular air-play on radio stations in the UK, France, Switzerland, America and Canada. The Notions toured Ireland, England and France in 2013. What has been the highlight of your career so far? Getting to tour abroad and bring our music to a wider audience. What would you say is the best piece of advice you have been given about the music industry so far? Always give your best performance whether it's five people or five thousand. What would you say inspires you as a band? Our music is laced with a wide variety of inspiration from across all our musical tastes. We are inspired by a desire to make music that expresses real sentiment, is meaningful for us to play and audiences to hear. What is coming up for the band this year? We will be touring the UK, France and Holland this summer and releasing Love Is from our new album which we are currently working on. I love the track 'Come Back to Me'. It's almost a Cranberries meets Chrissie Hynde, track. What inspired this recording? It's great that you think of those musical greats when you hear the track. I(Laura) came up with the main riff while messing around on the guitar, it seemed to suggest a sense of urgency so I thought about someone waiting impatiently for something that s/he wants desperately. It's about a person torn between desire and loss, a final cry for a lover to come back as doubt creeps in and the person reaches the end of his/her tether. If you had a superpower for the day, what would it be and why? I'd like to have the ability to time travel so I could go to all the greatest gigs in history and maybe a few in the future. http://www.thenotions.ie/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Notions-Galway-Ireland/111529485526070

Genre: Pop, Dub-Step, Dance, Alternative

Inspirations: Pop music, Ryan Tedder, Sia, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce,

Michael Jackson,

Drive: Its the only thing that makes me feel alive

Title: I title it “Thesis” because first off, I wanted a cool title and also because

all of the songs that are on Ep really grasp where I was in my life. The

definition of “THESIS” is a - statement or theory that is put forward as a

premise to be maintained or proved. And each song if you really listen to the

lyrics you'll hear stories, emotion, and this sort of cry out

Beginning: I started out in music at the age of 8 or 9, just singing and then I

wrote my first song at like 9 or 10.That was moment where music became

my DNA. I actually find it very ironic, looking back, even then my song were

just like they are now; “Great but with a somber undertone.” which is how I

would really describe my overall sound well, I would describe my music as

“Abstract pop music with an emotional undertone.

Highlights: My highlights are writing and releasing “Marks” and “Dark

Shadow”. And a big highlight, releasing “THESIS” which will be available on

Bandcamp.com, Soundcloud.com, reverbnation.com, and datpiff.com all

FOR FREE

Biggest Advice- “Build strong bonds and connections with others” - Robert

Technique

And its the best advice because you never know what someone can do for

you, or who they know that help you further you journey.

Collab.- If I could collaborate with anyone it would be Ryan Tedder and Sia

because they are iconic songwriters and amazing singers. They both, also,

are my inspiration for different reasons Ryan is a pop genius and Sia is

extremely vulnerable and emotional which is also what I am so I think we

would connect easily.

Coming Up- I’ve already started writing project two, my plan is to have that

out by the end of this year or early next year ,and this summer I’ll be doing

shows. I also hope to do more features.

Superpower- Telekinesis or mind control, because I fascinated with both of

those ideas of power.

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about you?

I'm a busy, hard working and hard partying, electronic music

producer/performer/promoter/label owner with a heart of gold. I

produce mainly techno, but also other genres, under various

monikers, from my studio in Berlin. Most weekends are spent

traipsing around the continent, making noise for party people to

soak up.

What has been the highlight of these performances so far?

I think the highlight of all of my gigs has been and probably always

will be my first major gig, which was probably also my third or fourth

gig altogether. It was in my home town of Waterford, to a packed

venue of about a thousand people, about 6 years ago. It's the only

one where my adrenaline levels were so high that I was shaking for

days afterwards. I'll never forget that one, it was crazy.. Since then,

it always feels more like a profession, and I'm always chasing that

nervous feeling, even though no matter how big or small the gig, it

never appears.

If you could have one superpower for a day, what would it be?

I'd love to be able to melt stuff with my eyes.

What have you got coming up this year?

My years keep getting busier and busier. I've already had three

releases in 2014, and I'm waiting on another dozen on both digital

and vinyl across multiple labels like Nachtstrom, Naked Lunch, Slap

Jaxx, Starkstrom, Gobsmacked etc. With gigs, my calendar is pretty

much always well stocked. May is going to be pretty crazy, with 6

international dates. After that however, I should be able to enjoy the

summer in a relatively relaxed manner.

If anyone out there was looking to become a DJ or Producer, what

advice could you offer them?

Be humble, but confident in your sound, and never give up.

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about you?

We are an original acoustic band performing our own unique blend of rock and folk. Formed in

2011 the band comprises of Neil Wardleworth on guitar, bass drum and vocals, and Laura

Wilcockson on violin and vocals.

I'm loving For Those Who Are Left. Can you tell us a bit more about the recording process

for this album?

For Those Who Are Left is our second studio album, following Timing is Everything which was

released in June 2012. The recording process was very quick since we all had other

commitments and because of this the result is that most of what you hear are first or second

takes. This lended to the record being a very live, stripped back and honest interpretation of the

songs. Despite these time restraints we still ended up with an album we are very proud to have

made.

What would you say inspires your music?

Neil's roots are steeped in classic/heavy rock, brought up on Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Moody

Blues and Black Sabbath. Laura on the other hand is a 90s kid and mostly enjoyed "bands" like

the Spice Girls and Whigfield while growing up! She was taught violin in a classical style though

and played orchestral music as a teenager. We both have a strong musical energy deep within us

which is boosted by the ideas and songs we come up with. So I guess we inspire each other!

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

We made our album using pledgemusic.com, which meant our fans helped us to pay for the

production by purchasing the album in advance on CD, vinyl or digital download. They also had

the option to pledge for a gig at their house and we really loved doing these because it was a

great way to say thank you for believing in us and helping us and it was a pleasure to play for

them. The pledge campaign hit its target far quicker than we could have imagined and we are

thankful to everyone who pledged. The names of all the pledgers can be found in the CD booklet.

What advice would you offer to other new musicians looking to get where you are in their

career?

Be true to yourself and sound like yourself, and learn to be happy with that..

What is coming up for you this year?

We have a very full gig diary for this year including a few festival and support slots we're really

excited about! See our gig page on www.steelthreadsmusic.co.uk for some of the important dates

for your diary!

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be and why?

We'd love to tour with Crowded House or Counting Crows since they're both similar to us in the

sense they are a bit rock, a bit acoustic, a bit indie, and a bit pop - they appeal to a non-specific

audience. It'd be a dream come true to work with the re-formed Fleetwood Mac on their tour as

they are a big influence to us.

If you had a superpower for the day what would you choose and why?

Laura: I would choose teleportation. We spend a lot of time driving around gigging all over the

country and we'd have so much more time if we had instant travel!

Neil: The power of "reanimation and merging". I would then take Neil Finn, Jimmy Page, Ian

Anderson, John Lennon, Michael Stipe, and Roger Waters and merge them all together to create

the best album ever!

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine

about you and your musical journey so far?

My journey has been pretty amazing...I met Ramzi, a

mutli talented artist who has produced all of my songs

which then led to putting my band together and

performing at pretty much every music venue in London

including the fantastic Troubadour, Kensington Roof

Gardens, Proud Camden and The Barfly to name a few.

I've supported artists who are making great moves in

music and have had great opportunities to perform

through an oragnisation called Success Express who

not only put on some great shows but also develop and

nurture talent.

I met the founder Lorraine Solomans at a Ramzi event

and we hit it off immediately, ever since she's just

believed in me and put me on the line up of some of her

biggest shows.

Through Ramzi I then went on to meet the wonderfully

talented vocal coach Joshua Alamu (The Voice coach)

and worked with him for quite a while just getting my

voice to a place where I always knew it could and will

be. And now I'm close to signing with a label preparing

for the release of my single.

I don't have a manager so have pretty much looked

after myself and my career from day 1 but I've been

really lucky with the people I've met and the genuine

belief that they have in me and my talent.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

The highlight would have to be being in LA and having

Terry Ellis (En Vogue) & Jamie Jones (All For One)

critique a performance of mine, and receive some pretty

amazing feedback. It's always nice to hear it from the

people who have lived and breathed the industry for

years and know what they're talking about.

I know you are recording an EP at the moment,

what else have you got coming up this year?

I have my single & video release later this year which

we're so looking forward to.

I'll be in NYC & Miami in April doing some TV and

Radio performances and then over to India for a

number of different projects. There are also a couple of

major things which I can't talk about right now but the

preparation for them has started so there are some very

busy months ahead but also very exciting.

What advice can you offer to other musicians

looking to get where you are in their career?

The advice I would give is work hard at your art and I

mean practise, practise, practise! Get

great at all aspects of it, so if you're a

singer, improve your song writing skills

along with constantly working on your

vocals, understand and know how to

harmonise, work on your performance

and delivery. The thing is for every

average artist, there is somebody

great waiting to take your place so you

really need to be on top of your game,

bring your A game every time.

Work hard, honestly and be humble.

There's a thin line between arrogance

and confidence.

Support other artists, don't see them

as threats because the way I feel is, if

I'm meant to do music and that's God's

plan for me, then it's going to happen

whatever so there's no point in making

enemies and treating everything as a

battle, but rather as an opportunity.

Have you got any plan to

collaborate with anyone else and if

you haven't, who would you choose

to collaborate with?

There are a few things in the pipeline

which I can't discuss at this stage but if

I could have a choice, I'd love to work

with the following:

Producer - Naughty Boy - I loved his

version of Daft Punks 'Get Lucky' tune

Writer and Vocalist - Sam Smith -

when he sings it just sends me to

another place

Mentoring Session - Jessie J - she

knows so much about the voice, how it

works and how to use it...I could learn

endlessly from her.

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about the

band?

We've been described as 'indie-electronicists' in reviews

...and I think that's a pretty fair assessment . We've not

been together too long so, we're still finding our feet as a

band. We try and focus on the electronics as a base but its

hard to put down our guitars completely. We try and keep

it very upbeat for live shows....but deep down we're

miserable bastards...but that's a nice combo, no?

What has been the highlight of life as a band so far?

I think getting signed to a label. It was nice to get some

recognition after all the hard work we'd put into the

project. We've also played some great venues but we are

definitely looking for greater 'highlights'. It would be nice

to get on a major festival.

What has been the best piece of advice that you have been

given about the music industry?

Not to listen to anything anyone says ever.

If you had the opportunity to collaborate with anyone, who

would it be any why?

It'd be nice to have someone remix our music, perhaps

someone like Four tet...or maybe play with someone like

'Battles' ...They don't have many tracks with vocals so

maybe Nick singing with them would be pretty cool.

What is coming up for Go Native?

We're fairly 'new on the scene' really. It would be nice to

play a couple of decent festivals or support a good band

on tour. We hope the EP will go well and open up a few

more opportunities for us. We'd like to put an album out

soon. Other than that ...gigs, write, gigs, write, gigs, shit,

eat, write

I love your music, it has a very strong vocal and catchy tracks.

Can you tell me what inspires you as a band?

Our inspiration is being able to quit working our shitty

jobs and do something we love for a living.

If you had one superpower for the day, what would it be and

why?

Power augmentation would be pretty cool ....we could

weaken the powers of some of the pricks running the

world!

Hi L'amore, can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about you?

I am a nineteen year old student studying a Bristol University and I am originally from

Yorkshire. I got into producing music from a year nine class in 'dance ejay' playing with super

tacky drum and bass loops and chipmunk voices and from there decided I could take it more

seriously and then here I am a good few years later with an EP out soon on Nightcap records

releasing tracks that I am proud of! I am a lover of music from across the board and all kinds

of genres, it all started with drum n bass, which is big down here and was really refreshing to

hear after going out in Huddersfield and hearing the standard chart tunes of the moment. I

garner influences from anything from trance to the strangest of techno and indie rock music

really.

I have listened to your mix of Swedish House Mafia's 'Leave the World Behind'. It's a

great mix and I think a portrait of what's to come from you. Can you tell us what

inspired this track?

Thanks I really appreciate it! The inspiration came from prepping a set for a night I was

playing in Bristol. In the day I thought it would be great to be able to play one of my own

tracks that fit the style of the night, but I hadn't produced any in that style really so thought Id

give it a go. I remembered I had the acapella of that one and I think it just came on in shuffle

on iTunes and I thought "yeah that could be cool" - catchy uplifting vocal and piano, track

people will probably already know etc. I made a cool bass for it then managed to finish it in

about three or four hours (which is really quick actually) but when you get inspired like that

getting the track down isn't the hard part, its making everything flow and blend together in a

solid mix, but that just came from years of practice to do it so quickly. Tried it out that

evening and it was a huge success!

Can you tell us the most useful piece of advice that you have been given about the

music industry?

People always say that it is a fickle business and honestly I am only just starting to scratch

the surface, but if you are making stuff people like and you foster good relationships with the

people that can get you the gigs and promote your work, then I would like to think everything

flows smoothly. I think the best piece of advice was actually from Dan Pearce (Eats

Everything) at a seminar he gave in Stokes Croft not that long ago. He was talking about the

scene in general but the points he made that stood out the most were that you shouldn't

expect people to go and buy your tracks, they can just get it for free off some file sharing

site; that you should never try sell a track without sample clearance and that you should

always stick with what you want to do rather than follow the crowd.

What would be your dream music collaboration?

This is a tough one. Id love to get in the studio with someone like Eats Everything or Maceo

Plex - their production as well as the moods they create in their tracks are just amazing, but

at the same time I'd love to hit the studio with Jack Steadman (Bombay Bicycle Club's

frontman). It isn't well known he produces his own style of electronic music and some of it is

really inspiring and forward thinking.

If you had one superpower for a day, what would it be and why?

Probably something like teleportation so I could go to all the gigs around the world that I

wanted to without having to pay any travel fares, there's so many artists I would love to see

but just don't get the chance to.

What is coming up for you in the next year?

My Aeon EP will be coming out for free on Nightcap Records very soon, be sure to check

that out some really nice tunes on that. Aside from that though plenty of other music,

experimenting with different genres but all with a similar vibe, hopefully playing gigs around

the country, some quite high profile promotion and just generally pushing forward and getting

as many people involved with the music as I can.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

The highlight for me has been playing out, I just love it. Bunker in Bristol played a deep

house set with a mate to a packed crowd and it really went off people were loving it, even my

SHM remix that I played! Equally though the other highlight would be when I played at

Motion in Bristol, 29th best club in the world, got to play a more techy set and I was just

blown away to be playing at a venue where I have seen some of my favourite artists play.

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about you? Joey Class (Vocals/Bass):The Senton Bombs are a rock band from Blackpool in the UK. We started out as teenagers in 2004 playing a hybrid of punk and metal music. Ten years down the line we're very much a hard rock band with trace elements remaining of punk and newer influences thrown in. What would you say inspires your music? Everything; The music we listen to, films, TV shows, music, local/global affairs, conspiracies, philosophies, random thoughts. We embrace all forms of inspiration in our music. What has been the highlight of your career so far? We have had the fortune of playing some fantastic gigs and sharing the stage with some amazing bands. The personal highlight has to be the release party for our album Chapter Zero, in our home town with fans, friends and family in attendance. It was a special night. What advice would you offer to other new musicians looking to get where you are in their career? Whatever you are doing just make sure you enjoy it. Make the music you want to make and don't compromise to fit scenes, genres or the zeitgeist. We just keep rolling, popping up on more radars and seeing where this journey takes us, most importantly - we enjoy it. What is coming up for you this year? More gigs, more records. We're off to Denmark for some dates in April. We have some great gigs lined up including some festivals in May and June. STP Records will be releasing our brand new EP on July 18th in tandem with a 10-date UK Tour. If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be and why? Off the top of my head I think a "Steve Tyler (Aerosmith) guest vocal spot" would elevate our songs and profile somewhat. Yeah, somebody let Steve know we're interested. If you had a superpower for the day what would you choose and why? Time travel. I think we need conclusive, primary source, empirical evidence on how the pyramids were built, as well as the other countless unfathomable ancient structures on earth. Then back to the beginning of the universe so I can return and set the record straight. www.facebook.com/thesentonbombs www.youtube.com/sentonbombs www.twitter.com/thesentonbombs www.reverbnation.com/thesentonbombs

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about the band?

We're a three piece experimental pop band from Royal Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire. We're all Aquarius and

enjoy Nick Caves facial expressions. After eighteen months of work we've just released our brand new EP

'Moondog' which we are currently promoting.

What has been the highlight of life as a band so far?

We've played so many shows since forming in 2011 that it's difficult to pick just one, I'd definitely say it's

something we've done live though. Both the 'Bottled Blonde' and 'Moondog' EP launch nights at Riffs Bar,

Swindon have been special for us and we also played to a packed out 100 Club a few years ago which was

a great experience.

What has been the best piece of advice that you have been given about the music industry?

We learnt pretty quickly that we shouldn't be too trusting. Like most bands, we've been given the run around

by dodgy promoters and lead blindly into rubbish situations. As time has gone on we've surrounded

ourselves with some very honest and trustworthy people so we're very lucky in that respect.

If you had the opportunity to collaborate with anyone, who would it be any why?

Amy Winehouse because we'd get it all our own way.

What is coming up for Nudybronque?

We're just about to finish our tour to promote 'Moondog',

it's gone really well so far, each gig has been a huge

success. We have a few videos in the pipeline, a busy

festival season, maybe another short tour to be

squeezed in somewhere and then we'll be knuckling

down again to write a follow up EP.

I love your music videos, especially your latest one

'Peachy Keen' (there is a message about hotdogs in

there somewhere! Take a look). Where did the

inspiration come from for it?

I'm not sure where the idea came from to be honest.

We're all huge fans of 'Carry On...' films, I suppose we

were unintentionally inspired by that, ITV3 and the idea

of making an arse out of our friends... Though we

haven't heard from any of them since.

If you had one superpower for the day, what would

it be and why?

Nudybronque as an entity has had a recurring dream.

Each night she clambers up to the roof of the shed,

spreads her wings and takes flight. Soaring high above

the Londis, Post Office... All these amazing local

landmarks... The village hall, market square... Perhaps

even taking a birds eye view of the Sainsbury's petrol

station, before making a nest in the tree above the

cemetary. It's a dream that Nudybronque (as an entity)

will hopefully one day fulfill, both metaphorically and

actually. Physically... In the world.

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about the band?

We've been going for a year now. Were a rock and Roll band from Liverpool.

We’ve played about 30 gigs so far . Recorded 2 EPs - And were very proud of

them both!

What has been the highlight of life as a band so far?

Well we've done loads of good gigs , but I think our highlight is the new EP

we've just recorded.

What has been the best piece of advice that you have been given about the

music industry?

You've got to work hard. have faith in you're music and expect a few knocks on

the way.

If you had the opportunity to collaborate with anyone, who would it be any why?

Jack White.

What is coming up for The Vibes?

We've just recorded 7 tracks for our new EP. it sounds great and were looking

forward to getting it out there.

I love the track, 'Find Another Man'. Can you tell me about the inspiration

behind it?

Thanks! Its a blues/country song inspired by early Elvis Presley - . its about

getting rid of someone you don't want anymore! Our guitarist Mike plays great

on it.

If you had one superpower for the day, what would it be and why?

Hmm - Flying's a good one - well have that!

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about you? I'm a 19 year old singer-songwriter/artist and I produce my music at the moment. My music is Guitar based, so I tend to call it Folk/Pop as it seems to make sense. I've always played the guitar, I started learning around the age of nine and then went on to study music at The Brit School which I graduated from last year. Soon after I had started learning guitar, I got really into Rap (Eminem especially) and was writing lyrics and messing with samples to create backing tracks. Then when I was about fourteen I decided to give singing a go. The first song I attempted was I'm Yours by Jason Mraz and I remember it being difficult to sustain notes or even sing a phrase without loosing my breath. I've had bad asthma all my life, but have found that singing has really helped strengthen my lungs. I have heard your latest track, Animals and seen the video. Can you tell us a bit more about the thought process behind both the song and the video? Animals is about the cruel world we live in and how heartless we can be sometimes. We supposedly have a conscience and should know right from wrong in how to treat one another. We're all the same at the end of the day. That was my basic thinking and how the lyrics came about. The dancers in the video represent the animal within us but at the end coming together in harmony. What has been the highlight of your career so far? This is difficult question as I've loved so many experiences. One lovely moment was sitting in Caffe Nero with my Grandma when suddenly my song You Cannot Say, comes on in the store. She was very proud! What has been the best piece of advice you have been given about the music industry? Keep hustling. If you had a superpower for a day, what would it be and why? Nice question! Freezing time. I sometimes feel I don't have enough time in the day to write and create as much as I want to. What is coming up this year for you? More gigging, more writing and more hustling! Caffe Nero are taking another track for their store playlist around the UK and abroad, which is awesome. I've always wanted to play at the Marylebone Summer Fayre and have been offered a slot this year. I'm in the very early stages of getting a band together for my music. This feels like a big step forward as I'm performing solo at the moment and a lot of my new tracks are slightly electronic. Who would be your dream collaboration? James Blake. Here's a few links to my music – http://www.coreyfoxfardell.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/coreyfoxfardellmusic https://soundcloud.com/corey-foxfardell https://www.youtube.com/coreyfoxfardellmusic

What would you say inspires your music?

That's a tough question! We draw inspiration from all sorts of things. Life experience serves for a lot of the lyrical content.

Musically, it's a whole mixed bag of everything from 40s style jazz to stadium type rockers, but when you put all of it

through the Rosetta Fire filter there is broadly an overall sound characterised by tight harmonies, strong melodies and

strong songwriting. The focus is very much on the song and what is best for that rather than individual members.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

One of our first gigs was at Warwick Folk Festival in the Market Square on a cold rainy day, just the two of us (Ant - vox,

Jim - guitar/vox). People were just milling about and as the set went on more and more people came out of the pubs and

into the rain to hear us. Looking back it was a really strange event. We got interviewed live on the radio after that by BBC

Coventry and Warwickshire.

What advice would you offer to other new musicians looking to get where you are in their career?

You have to start of with the end goal in mind and someone driving that along with some effective management of how to

get there, otherwise you tread water. If you're in it just to play to your mates you can do that when you pop around their

house for a beer!

We've always had faith in the songs and how we sound as a band, but you've got to have someone driving the

development side of things publicity wise, business wise, pushing to the right venues rather than taking the wrong kind of

gigs. Saying no can sometimes do you favours. It's tough to find someone who is good at that side of things. You have to

trust in their abilities, energy and personality and vice versa.

What is coming up for you this year?

2014 has the potential to be a really exciting year. We've got some good management behind us, we're getting gigs at

some good venues on the bill with some really good acts, and a deal struck with a studio for doing an album. We're at the

start of sorting out the funding for that last part. We did a single a couple of years ago with George Shilling, who has

worked with the likes of Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Bernard Butler.....many more..... the results were fantastic so

we want to do the album with him.

Gig wise we're going to be out a lot more to build up more of a fan base. That is very hard in an age where people have so

many distractions!

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be and why?

Ant: Jeff Lynne. The songwriting is fantastic, the vocal arrangements so detailed, the quality of the playing. It's all there.

We could learn a lot from him!

Jim: I find collaboration quite hard unless there's a chemistry in the room between the people involved, so that's kinda

tough to answer, but I'd certainly like to sit in with Bernard Butler while he's producing to see how he does things. Anyone

that has heard me play electric guitar will spot a definite influence there.

If you had a superpower for the day what would you choose and why?

Ant: The ability to never get tired.

Jim: Flight. You could look at all the poor sods stuck in traffic and feel very smug.

Franko Fraize, a rapper from Thetford has burst into 2014 with his brand new single Treasures. Growing up listening to Rap and Grime, Franko Fraize begun to write bars and practice his lyrics taking inspiration from some of his favourite artists such as UK rapper Skinnyman and Nas from America. Franko has managed to create a unique sound that separates him from any of his peers many people have drawn comparisons with Mike Skinner due to his delivery and cockney twang. In his career to date, Franko has been fortunate enough to work with various well-known producers and artists including Mike Skinner himself for whom he was the supporting act on his D.O.T tour. Due to his unique sound, some people do find it hard to categorise Franko’s music, which can make it hard for him to be playlisted on various radio stations. The easiest way to describe his sound would be to call it a cross between Rap and Indie, but even that does not give you a true reflection of his sound. Despite this, various well known and respected DJ’s have played Franko Fraize’s tracks including DJ Cameo on 1xtra and BBC Radio 1 DJ’s such as Fearne Cotton and Greg James not to mention his Hand Me Downs track being picked up by Soccer AM who played this during one of their features. The new single Treasures is a quirky and easily relatable track about relationships, focusing on the ‘not so rosey’ aspects, there are definitely lines in this song that most of us will be able to relate to. Check out the video on youtube and look out for the mixtape/EP, which will hopefully be released sometime this spring. Growing up in a Muslim household to Eritrean parents in Denmark, it is fair to say that Negash Ali has a very cultured background. Negash started rapping at a very young age and soon found himself in the presence of like-minded musicians and unlimited access to studio time, which took its toll on his school attendance, as he would spend most of his time in the studio writing and recording new songs. A lot of his lyrics were influenced by the books that he would read and his experiences as he has covered a fair amount of air miles. At the tender age of 13 he signed an artist development deal and by 22 had recorded and released 4 albums in Denmark. During a trip to Paris, Negash decided it was time for a change and as he was a fan of the UK music scene including artists such as Tinie Tempah and Wretch 32. Negash decided to up sticks moving from Denmark to London in the summer of 2013 and hasn’t looked back as he enjoys the energy of London life. Negash already had a lot of connections in London so was not alone, but knew he would now need to introduce himself to a whole new audience so began to work on his new project. Since arriving in London, Negash has created his own record label ’10 Thousand Music’ and on February 17th released his EP ‘African Dream’ available on iTunes and other well known online music outlets including Soundcloud. This is a 4 track project consistting of songs touching on the different sides of Negash’s character and experiences. The lead track ‘Fire In The Sky’ which has a video on youtube, is a very inspirational track and focuses on his drive, ambition and sense of destiny. The video for African Dream drops in April and lightly touches on his journey so far. Negash is a very charismatic individual and this comes across in his music, his distinctive accent makes him easy to recognise and stand out from many of the other rappers on the circuit. Negash takes inspiration from many different artists including J. Cole, Drake, Sam Smith, James Blake and Kendrick Lamar. He has also taken part in a number of events and event appeared as a supporting act for The Dream at Koko in Camden. Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine about you? Hello readers, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Adam J, I am DJ / producer born and raised in West London, been DJin since the age of 13, and started producing in 2010. Since 2010 I have released 2 singles, 'We Came To Party' featuring Master Shortie & Allen Ritter, & my 2nd single 'Love Is All We Need' featuring Amelle Berrabah & The Nightcrashers. We know you recently recorded a remix of Beyoncé's Drunk in Love on to Soundcloud. Can you tell us what else you like to mix and do you stick to any particular genre? The genre of music I produce is EDM, my sound is clubbing music, the aim is for you to hear my tracks, and immediately stop what your doing and dance hahaha. Since the Beyoncé remix, I have produced an official remix of UK artist Bashy's new single 'Bring The Lights Down' its available now to buy on itunes, and you can also hear it on my Soundcloud. I will always be releasing future singles, and other remixes, which will all be uploaded to my Soundcloud page. What has been the best tip you've ever had from someone in the music industry? Since I started DJin, I have come across many characters, artists, producers, promoters, club owners and many up and comers, and its not like someone sat me down and fed me the do's and don'ts of the industry, but what I have learnt on my journey is persistence pays off, and I am a strong believer in never giving up, I have set goals and I am determined to make them reality. I don't focus on other people, I don't let what others have achieved distract me, I focus on myself, I concentrate on building myself, my brand, my name and my fan base. I practise my DJ skills weekly and I am always online watching tutorials on producing. Nothing is impossible even the word itself says 'IM POSSIBLE'. Stay focused and never give up. Do you dj in venues? If so where can we see you? Yeah I DJ in venues all over the world, I am a bit of a fidget I cant sit still, and plus playing at different venues / countries you have to adapt to the different crowds, and for me that's more fun, as it kind of gets boring playing the same old crap to the same people week in week out hahaha. In 2009 I moved to Dubai and spent 4 years there DJin in clubs, so at the moment I am always back and forth between London and Dubai, but I always announce where I am playing on twitter @DJAdamJ1 so to keep up to date with me ..... FOLLOW ME !!! If there was any advice you could offer someone looking to become a DJ, what would it be? The DJ game has changed a lot, before I used to go to the

clubs with 3 record bags, and if the track you wanted to hear wasn't in my bag, then sorry you would get to hear it that night. Where as now, everyone uses laptops, and DJ programs, so you can literally connect to the Wi-Fi in the club and download a song there and then. If I could advise any up and comer I would say know your music, broaden your horizons, download all genres, listen to the full track, study them, know when they drop in and out, your talent as a DJ will get you the bookings, if you go to the club not knowing the song you have in your crates, you will struggle when it comes to mixing it in and out. Also try to be unique everyone can DJ, everyone can play 2 songs, but what makes you special, what makes you stand out from the crowd, practice and make sure your mixing is tight. What has been the highlight of your career so far? The highlight of my career has to be being part of a team that won 2 TimeOut Night Life Awards in Dubai. In 2009 I worked for an events company called No.1 Events and my resident booking 'No.1 Fridays' won 'Best Urban night' 2 years in a row in 2009 / 2010. Just being recognised was an achievement itself, but actually winning was an amazing feeling, to know that the night we put on was voted the best in Dubai, amazing. Last year when I was in Dubai I went to the awards ceremony with the team and 'No.1 Fridays' won again, so I think I'm some kind of lucky charm for No.1 Events hahahaha. 3 awards in 4 years not bad. If you had to pick anyone to collaborate with, who would it be and why? That's a tough one, right now I am really feeling Drake and Miguel, Drake lyrically for me has been 1 of the best for the past 4/5 years, and as for Miguel since that dude came out his music and his voice has been seducing women left right and centre, maybe stick em both on the track, I'm sure I could arrange something for them. Adam J ft. Drake & Miguel ......... it could be a future no.1 ;) www.adamjworld.com www.facebook.com/djadamj1 www.twitter.com/djadamj1 www.soundcloud.com/djadamj1

Can you tell the readers of Love Music Magazine a bit more about you? I am Omri Nobel, a 32 year old,singer/songwriter, composer and producer, from Israel! My late Grandma described me best "Omri has the guitar in his soul" I've been making music since ever! I found my musical identity in the blues, country rock tunes. I'm very influenced by the American old school sound and I'm trying to bring this genre to the Israeli music scene. Can you tell us a bit more about your musical inspirations? My musical inspirations come from childhood bands like Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam, Tom Patty, Nick cave and many others. These days I like listening to new bands, wondering the "You tube", searching for new inspiration. Blackberry Smoke is one of the most coolest bands I have ever heard and they are an inspiration to me – because they combine groove, Energy and emotion in to a southern rock sound What has been the highlight of your career so far? Releasing my first single from my soon to come debut album, and receiving great feedback locally and worldwide. All the process around it and each and every step of the way is very exciting as much as writing a new tune. If you had one piece of advice that you could share with anyone looking to start a musical career, what would it be? As the song says: "Don't stop believing", I believe that anything in life is measured by 3 parameters: Talent, Motivation and Persistence. And if you don't achieve a goal you must check which ingredient of the three was missing. Usually the difficult part to achieve is the persistence, so that's why I never stop and always move forward and keep pushing. What is coming up for you this year? This year is the release of my debut album, I've been waiting for it 32 years LOL and a local tour with my band is planned for the coming year. If you had one superpower for the day, what would it be and why? The ultimate superpower is Mind Control, the amazing possibility to Control what the person in front of you is thinking, and then you can navigate the course of events to your preferred result. That way, I would make everybody like my music http://youtu.be/8L9KwjBxwKc http://youtu.be/kJN7aqF68HQ http://youtu.be/CkJvoFo7rtc

We have heard all about you and your

modeling work for MIA and Versus for

Versace. Can you tell us a bit about how this

felt to be given such a fantastic opportunity?

I still don't think it's sunk in, it's all a bit mad really

I've been singing along to paper planes for years,

haha! I just know I'm blessed with the best people

around me that lead to these great opportunities

and having the right people around you is

everything!

Fashion meets music quite a lot in today's

world. In your experience, what would you say

epitomises this?

I'd say it flows both ways, music artists wear

fashion and then during a fashion show, they play

the music artist. It's been like that from the

beginning, so they end up being hand in hand and

Its the perfect exchange, vibe follows vibe.

You do a few things in the creative industries.

If you had to pick one thing to do out of all of

them, where would your heart lie?

At this point I couldn't say because that is why I

have my hands on a few different things, because

I like them all but just for different reasons, I've

always loved music and art so for me its just

about fulfilling my passion which IS where my

heart lies.

So 'Bodytalk' with Larry Tee of Super Electric

Party Machine (out on 19th May), again,

another great experience to have. ---What is

the best thing about working with such a great

music innovator?

The best thing with Larry is his energy and

attitude, it's so positive, light hearted and fun. All

qualities you need to get the most out of life so it's

an absolute pleasure to have met him let alone

work with him! I feel very lucky and feel that Larry

and I share the same attitude of 'going with the

flow' and enjoying the ride of life so naturally it

really works.

Is there more to come from you, musically?

Absolutely, I have a big love for music, all

types just depends on my mood, but definitely

watch this space for up and coming

collaborations that are coming up! This year's

going to be exciting for a lot of people around

me right now so I know the energy's sure to

create a productive buzz!!

If you had a superpower for a day, what

would it be and why?

I've thought about this quite a lot and at one

point i thought it would be having the power to

turn invisible, so I could be somewhere with

other people not knowing. But then I realised

life would be a lot more stressful if you knew

all the stuff you didn't really need to know. We

always want to know the answer to everything

but there's definitely a reason we don't! SO it

would be being able to fly-that would be the

most thrilling, you can imagine the view.

Do you have any words of advice for

anyone looking to get in to the fashion and

music industries?

I guess, just to stay true to yourself. Then no

matter where life takes you, you can be

reassured that you did what you felt was right

for you at the time, so everything is a lesson

instead of a regret. Life should be fun and you

shouldn't let fear hold you back so just go for it

whatever you want to do, whatever you dream

of, it's up to you to make it reality.

Thanks so much for being in Love Music Magazine. You are a well known dance act. Your music has been remixed so many times. Who has been the best act you have worked with and why? It's so so hard to pick that kind of question considering we've been able to work with so many 10/10 artists and musicians over the last few years. Motez, Kilter, Danny T, Lancelot, Frames, Hayden James, Polographia are just a few who we've either played with or hit up for remixes. All quality musicians/friends/bros/artists/lords. If you had to put a number one sample of all time, what would it be and why? That whacky organ sample in DJ Shadow - Organ Donor. It's just such an iconic sample found in the depths of some experimental noise piece converted into an instrumental hip hop classic. Nice. Where has been the best venue to play and why? To be honest, my favourite ever venue was this crazy natural amphitheater we played in over new years at Falls Festival in Australia. From the stage setup you could just see these masses of people swarming down the hill with the sun setting through the trees. Ridiculous setting + excellent vibe = fav gig. As far as more traditional venues go - the Enmore in Sydney is probably my fav. What has been the highlight of your career so far? We've had a few pretty crazy milestones over the last few months. I'd say having the album go gold in Australia was pretty mindblowing. We're still pinching ourselves about things like that.

If you could offer any advice to aspiring musicians, what would it be? Do it for love. Don't sacrifice your credibility or taste as an artist for what you think people want to hear. Trust in your own taste and trust that it will develop. What is coming up for Rufus this year? A lot. Touring US/Canada in March, UK/Europe in April, Australia in May and June, and then capping it all off with the move to Berlin in the second half of the year to hole ourselves away and begin writing the next record. Busy times. Who has inspired you in your career? So many artists. Trentemøller, James Murphy, Booka Shade, Royksöpp, The Chemical Brothers, Thom Yorke+Radiohead, Foals, Cut Copy. If you could have a super power for a day, what would it be and why? To become Bill Murray. Any plans to come to the UK soon? Yes! We're actually heading over at the start of April. Playing a few dates with Cut Copy in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. Then playing our own shows in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London. Pretty keen get back over there considering the sweet response we got last time we were there. c u soon ;)

What is the best piece of advice you have ever had

about the music industry?

I think that one piece is- "Do not have a lot of

expectation and you will not be disappointed”

If you had a superpower for the day, what would it

be and why?

If I had a superpower for a one day, I would like to

every citizen of mother earth, and in the same time,

sing the song "Take me to the future".

You have just released the video for 'Take me to the

Future'. Can you tell us a bit more about the song

and the inspiration for it?

Take me to the future is universal song for all people

of this material world. All of us wish to make

something different and we know that we are ready

for that. Because of that we call them to follow the

signs and one of sign's is this unusual song.

Hi, I'm Kevin and this is my new

column for Love Music Magazine "The

Spread". In this column I will be

offering my pick of music artists. I

am also on the radio. You can find me

on:

“ Snowball 37

This Rock band is from New Jersey

and Spearheaded by vocalist and

songwriter David Fagan I must admit

when I first looked at their

Soundcloud and Reverbnation pages I

was interested in the wide ranging

number of artists stated as

influences. Much like their

influences the rock includes a

number of different styles in their

latest offering.

At first listen it is quite obvious

that David Fagan really is the

driving force behind this band with

a general upbeat feel good rock

with a hint of the past about it.

At the same time they have a fresh

and current sound that really is

pleasing to the ear. The sort of

Rock music you can play at full

blast whilst driving down the

highway with the wind in your hair.

I must admit that the vocals of

David Fagan do seemingly take

center stage in all of the songs;

also that their records have a very

crisp and clear vocal that really

does make the tracks stand out

Even though there are echoes of

American punk traditions these

tracks have more of a rock element

to them. . In particular I do get

images of driving a car with the

wind in my hair with these records

and there is a summery feel to the

rock music produced by this band

with a fun element in the records.

There is also some great guitar

riffs in these records that really

do hook you in and I get the

impression this band could deliver

very consistent albums overall.

Marc Platt

This artist has recently written a book

available from all good online stockists; so

originally I was very Interested to hear what

his music sounds like. I will admit that

since then I have played his music on more

than one occasion to much success. I must

admit the one word that springs to this

artist really is the word "Versatile" and no

two songs ever seem to be the same. He does

seem to be able to adapt to most genres and

there seems to be a rather smooth feel to his

records. Almost seemingly switching from pop

to rock or any other genre you care to

mention almost effortlessly and if I am to be

completely honest there only a special number

of artists that can do this.

Although this artist has done some amazing

covers that must be heard at some point. I

must admit that a George Harrison cover

really is particularly good and although it

is very different from the original in terms

of composition and style there really is a

really nice relaxing feel with some amazing

acoustic guitar. In fact in many of his

records it really his technical ability with

an acoustic guitar that really stands out.

However this isn't Marc Platt's only strong

point as he has many.

Marc despite the aforementioned covers really

comes into his own when he has written his

own material. His unique retro style of style

of music no matter the genre sounds amazing

however Marc still finds a way to make the

bright and light sounds of music past and

allow the listener to see those sounds in a

fresh modern and contemporary way. It is

rather obvious that even though they have

their own musical sensibilities you can tell

that Marc wears his influences on his sleeve.

Almost to the point where you could imagine a

younger version of Marc listening to those

influences through his own music.

The thing that impresses me most about this

artist in particular is his vocals and

although it is suited to rock it does have a

rather unique soothing and mellow quality

that really does have a laid back summery

quality that really does appeal to me and

more importantly the listeners of The Spread

as well.

Pockets

This is a fantastic band from Australia

which to be honest I wasn't sure what to

expect when I pressed the play button

however on first impressions this rock

band has an aura of funk about it. With

catchy beats however the music is rather

simplistic; saying this it is the

simplicity that makes these records sound

great. However paradoxically there is

some intricate elements in the background

that really makes the band have a rather

unique sound.

I must admit listening to their tracks I

do get an urge to tap my feet and bob

along to the music, however iN its very

nature the Music is pure indie rock at

its very heart. The key to this seems to

generally the fantastic almost pinpoint

perfect drumming and the riffs of the

guitars do seem to complement each other

quite well. There is almost a fun element

to the records and in one of the records

almost an introduction by the band that

gives them a rather personalized feel and

that they wish to connect to their fans

and listeners.

I guess the introduction to the first

record on the EP did throw me somewhat

however with the unique vocals this was a

pleasant surprise. There is almost a pick

up and play quality to the records that

really does want to make you listen to

them again and again.

The lyrics within themselves are quite

catchy and are very well thought out, it

gives the tracks their rather easy-going

nature in some cases shows their

versatility especially in their more up-

tempo records one or two of The records

in particular could be excused for being

a strange cross between Olly Murs / Artic

Monkeys-esque mash-up However this really

does seem to work out there; and is a

genuinely pleasant experience. Please go

check these guys out!

Sarah Mason

Sarah Mason produces pop and dance music with a whole

host of different influences with a slight retro

flavour. The first impression of the first track He

Dont Care has a rather 90's feel to it in places. The

one thing to note is that the artist is lyrically the

artist is extremely catchy but the dance tracks in

particular are of UK Chart standard but the beats,

tempo and effects are just right and are Sarah Mason's

strongest suit. There are some fantastic vocal tricks

on the track I want your love. In fact it wouldn't look

out of place in all the best nightclubs and there is

also that little hint of naughtiness throughout the

track with some very suggestive moans towards the end

of the track.

Sarah does seem to flit between retro pop and dance

quite effortlessly, the best thing about the track Baby

I'm Missing You is that although there are a lot of

vocal effects on the records there is still enough of

her natural voice to appreciate her vocal range and

natural talent, of which she is pitch perfect

throughout the records. There is also a sense of fun

about the record that sets it apart from other dance

tracks in a very good way.

Many of the tracks written and sung by Sarah do seem to

be very focused on relationships and matters of the

heart. Even within the dance tracks of which in

themselves do seem to have a modern contempory twist on

the dance sounds of the dance of the 1990's there is

also faint echoes of the Pet Shop Boys in some of the

tracks in particular with strong emphasis on

synthesisers in certain tracks. There is something

remarkably catchy about her records lyrically in her

dance tracks that really do make them a joy to listen

to.

Although Sarah Mason is Not just all about dance and

pop, Sarah also really excells in good traditional love

songs and ballads and this is where her vocals really

shine without dance effects but naked and natural

although it is within these songs in particular where

her pitch is pinpoint perfect and there is some real

emotion in those songs. It is through these particular

tracks where you realise that vocally Sarah does have a

rather natural talent. Even with some of the covers her

vocal experimentation sometimes gives very exceptional

and unique experiences the best one to mention was her

take on Adele really is quite stand-out in particular.

The admirable thing about this artist is that she is

never afraid to try new things even venturing once into

the world of musicals and the Phantom Of The Opera is

also worth exploring.

In the world of Dance in particular this is one artist

you really should look out for because this artist

really does have a bright future ahead of them.

THIS MONTH IN MUSIC

APRIL ALBUM RELEASES By Chiru K

April 1st, 1986 – ‘The Way It Is’, the debut album by Bruce Hornsby and the Range was released on this day which achieved a multi-platinum status with 4 hit tracks (including the title track) and helped the group to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

April 5th, 1968 – ‘Live at the Boston Garden : April 5, 1968’, a concert film by James Brown was released in an effort to quell the potential riots in the city following the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. The recording circulated as a bootleg until it was officially released as a DVD in 2008.

April 11th, 1983 – Dave Mustaine, the future founder of Megadeth was officially kicked out of ‘Metallica’ due to his alcoholism, drug abuse, overly aggressive behaviour and personality clashes with founding members, Hetfield and Ulrich. He later forms Megadeth and becomes one of the most successful metal musicians of his generation.

April 18th, 1988 – Legendary songwriters ‘Holland/Dozier/Holland’ were included in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. They’re also the recipients of ‘Johnny Mercer’ Award, 2009 (artists who’re already included in the Hall of fame and have a number of outstanding works).

April 24th, 2007 – As far the funny side of music and politics goes, the Imperial Hotel in Vienna, Austria denied the ultra luxurious suite to President George W. Bush because Mick Jagger, in town with The Rolling Stones on tour, had already booked the place up. I guess those Austrians have some music-respectful means of judging priority. At that point Bush had been the president for just over six years but Mick had been on top of the heap for well, over 40!
