Team GrandCon has worked hard to bring our inaugural year to fruition. We are thrilled to be enjoying it with all of you!

GrandCon is West Michigan’s first ever hybrid convention of both comic books and gaming. Our vision is fueled by our belief that the community needed a local event to celebrate our fandom. Your attendance is a testimony to that.

From the formation of our idea, up through today, it has been an amazing journey. We were not sure how or if the community would embrace us, and the truth is we were overwhelmed with enthusiasm, love, and support from every corner of Grand Rapids.

Team GrandCon would like to thank some key contributors:

Thank you to Steve VanWagoner of Celebration! Cinema, who saw our vision, and jumped at the chance to become our presenting sponsor. Their reach into the community and generosity elevated our visibility to a level we dared not hope for.

Thank you to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation, who were willing to attach their name and reputation to our event. We are proud to have them as our charitable partner, and to support their work in saving children’s lives.

Thank you to Scott & Suzie Rosema. When we first met with Scott & Suzie, they were very excited about a convention coming to Grand Rapids. They went through a career’s worth of professional contacts to reach out to much of the artistic talent at the show.

Thank you to our families, who are not always the comic and gaming fans that we ourselves are. Your support and sacrifice has not gone unnoticed, and we hope we have made you proud.

Finally, thank YOU, the person reading this right now. We hope we have provided an experience that not only can grow and change from year to year, but that you will want to be a part of over and over again.

So whatcha waiting for?!? Time to hit the convention!

Best, Team GrandCon
