President’s Notes HAPPY NEW YEAR….
I hope that you’ve had a great Christmas and will have a great 2020.
As for the club, we had a terrific Christmas party with special thanks to Ronnie/Rene for the room and location
again this year; Kevin/Karen for manning the pay booth; Sprague for a great game of HORSE; Linda Ricks for
helping with HORSE and to Jimmy and Dave for their help gathering gifts, organizing and some photos. Jimmy
also drove all of the Christmas for Kids gifts to CPS.
There was a change in secretary with Art Woolever (with Debbie’s help) stepping up and allowing Gordon to
bow out after a one year term. Thanks to Gordon.
Otherwise, you’ve got the same officers for the coming year.
The club will be at the same location for the Christmas party next year and it will be on December 12th.
The club presented Wayland Baptist with two scholarships of $1,200 each in the names of Peggy Sue and
Charlie Ricks.
I appreciate all of the attendees for bringing door prizes and gifts for the CPS kids.
As for the New Year, PLEASE pay your 2020 dues ASAP so Kevin doesn’t have to deal with registration
through spring. Dues have INCREASED for 2020.
Also, we should have Pollard, NAPA, AIM Bank, and Mighty Wash back for the New Year but still need some
new advertisers.
We decreased the size of our scholarships this year due to the loss of Dallas Mustang and a few other losses. In
order to maintain and hopefully increase our scholarship amounts we need advertisers, the car show is not a
money maker for the club. It’s a fun and great event, but we usually lose money on it and sometimes break
even.
Also, if you’re buying auto parts, shop NAPA and/or Pollard. These are our sponsors and they provide door
prizes in addition to their annual sponsorship.

Meeting Minutes for December
Lubbock Mustang Club
Christmas Party Business Meeting
John opened the meeting with an introduction of our club sponsors and each member introduced themselves.
After the delicious meal, Dennis gave a salute to the members who passed away this past year: Jimmy
O’Connell, James Wofford, Peggy Sue and Lillie Clark.
Two $1200 checks in the name of Charlie Ricks and Peggy Sue were presented to Joe Marnell, Wayland Baptist
University’s representative to be used as scholarships for students who attend there.
Kevin reported that we have approximately $6500 in the club account at this time.
A motion was made and seconded that we have our 2020 Christmas party at Hillcrest Country Club on
December 12th. The motion passed.
The current slate of officers were elected to serve in 2020 except Art/Debra Woolover who were elected to be
secretary in the place of Gordon Jones, the one year secretary. A plea was given by the outgoing secretary for
members to consider being an officer next year for one year, and maybe an incentive needs to be given to
encourage participation. A well run party of HORSE was directed by Sprague and everyone went home with
something to add to their “stuff” collection.
The next regular meeting is January 2nd at Red Zone Café and the next car show will be June 13, 2020.
It is easy to say that a good time was had by all at the 2019 Mustang Club Christmas Party.

The LUBBOCK MUSTANG CLUB is a social organization dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of the Mustang automobile and the fun and fellowship that goes hand in hand with these cars. Membership dues are $20.00 for new members and $30.00 per year thereafter, due on January 1st.
