The Celebration of the Lord’s Supper G od tells us in 1 Corinthians to examine ourselves before communing. We encourage those communing to ask themselves: Do I believe that I am a sinner? Do I believe that Jesus Christ is our only Savior from sin, death and Satan? Do I believe that Christ is present in this Sacrament, even if I do not understand how, with His very Body and Blood, given and shed for my sins, as the Word of God declares? Do I have a desire to live the kind of life God asks me to live, but recognize that I cannot do that apart from the power of the Holy Spirit, who works in this meal to embolden and strengthen my faith? If this is your confession, you are welcome to commune here. Hold your hand out to receive the host (wafer). Children not instructed or those of a different confession may come forward with their arms crossed to receive a blessing. Non-alcoholic wine is in the middle of the tray. Easter Sunday celebrates Christ’s resurrection from the dead, following crucifixion. It marks the end of Holy Week and the end of Lent as well as the beginning of the Easter season of the liturgical year. The resurrection represents the triumph of good over evil, sin, death, and the physical body. Jesus died to pay the penalty of death that we deserve for our sin. Jesus was buried, and rose with a glorified body, gaining victory over death and the grave. When we put our faith in Him by believing through faith alone in Christ alone, we have

the promise of one day having a body like our Lord’s and reigning with Him in heaven.
