The current campaign runs through the Fourth of July, and the winner is announced at the annual festivi- ties in Lutz. Two chambers of commerce can be bet-ter than one.

In the next weeks, Central PascoChamber of Commerce and the PascoHernando Hispanic Chamber of Commercewill unite into a single organization.

“We are so excited to join forces, makingour chambers and our communitiesstronger and more diverse,” Charlene Ierna, president of the Central Pasco Chamber ofCommerce wrote in a letter sent to cham-ber members in May.

The two chambers have hosted joint so-cial mixers recently, and the PascoHernando Hispanic Chamber ofCommerce is creating a Hispanic businessgroup, known as Hispanic BusinessLeaders.

“Leaders from both organizationsworked hard to determine what would bebest for our members,” John Jay also said inthe letter to chamber members. Jay is pastpresident of Pasco Hernando HispanicChamber of Commerce.

A team of board members from both or-ganizations is finalizing the transition thatlikely will be completed by June 26. Onthat date, Central Pasco will celebrate its40th anniversary at its Annual Awards andInstallation Banquet.

“We will literally become one,” saidMary Lynn Gorsline, the incoming presi-dent for Central Pasco. “We’re prettyexcited about it. There’s a huge Hispanicpopulation in this area.”

There is more strength and efficiency injoining the two organizations, she said.

“There is a lot of duplicate work,”Gorsline said.

Summer is often known as “trauma sea-son” among public health and medicalprofessionals, so The Shriners Hospitals forChildren and NASCAR Driver David Raganhave joined forces to help reduce the risksof childhood injuries.

Summer is a time when serious injuriesand deaths dramatically increase among chil-dren, according to a news release from TheShriners Hospitals for Children.

Statistics show that 40 percent of all in-jury-related emergency room visits and 42percent of all injury-related deaths amongchildren happen between May and August, the release states.

“I know a fun-filled summer day can turninto tragedy within seconds when an acci-dent occurs,” Ragan said, in the release.“Shriners Hospitals and I want to providefamilies with simple ways to reduce the riskof childhood injuries so kids can enjoy a safesummer.”

As experts in the treatment of pediatricorthopaedic conditions, spinal cord injuriesand burns, Shriners Hospitals for Childrenprovides critical, surgical and rehabilitativecare to children, regardless of the families’ability to pay. Shriners Hospitals for Children– Tampa urges parents and caregivers to re-mind kids of these simple precautions tokeep them injury-free this summer:

• Swing sitting down.• Slide feet first, one child at a time.• Do not push or shove others on the

playground.

• Always swim with an adult or a friend.• Wear a life jacket when near the water.• Never play on or around lawn mowers.• Do not play around fire pits, campfires

or grills.“Sustaining a serious injury can be a life-

altering event for a child,” said Dale Stauss, chairman of the Board of Directors forShriners Hospitals for Children. “We see pa-tients every day with injuries caused byaccidents and we are committed to raisingawareness about how to stay safe this sum-mer.

The Florida Department of Health alsoencourages safety at home during the sum-mer.

It is asking Floridians to make theirhomes safer by taking steps to prevent thefive leading causes of home injury: falls; poi-sonings; fires and burns;choking/suffocation; and drowning.

These tips will help make your home safefor people of all ages:

• Install smoke alarms and be sure theyhave working batteries. The alarms should beinstalled in each bedroom, outside eachsleeping area and on every level of thehome. They also should be tested monthly toensure the batteries are good.

• Be sure that fire extinguishers are avail-able on every level of the home and thateach household member knows how to usethem;

• Cover all unused outlets with safetyplugs.

• Check outlets you are using, to be surethey are not being overloaded.

Cellphones with the “smarts” ofcutting edge social media technolo-gy are the newest tools to bringresidents and public servants to-gether.

See a pothole? Want an illegaldumping site cleaned up? Justwant to reserve a pavilion at acounty park?

The county has an app for allthat, and more.

On June 9, Pasco County offi-cially launched MyPasco, a mobileapp that’s available free for users ofAndroid, Apple, Blackberry andWindows products.

One feature allows county offi-cials to do surveys to find outresidents’ views on specific issues.

“It’s a great way for the commu-nity and government to find outwhat’s on the minds of our citi-zens,” said Pasco Countyspokesman Doug Tobin. “This reallyis a way of doing more with less.”

Pasco County commissionersgot a hands-on demonstration attheir regular meeting on June 9 inDade City. Todd Bayley, the county’schief information officer, showed off theapp’s features during the demonstration.

Once the program is downloaded, resi-dents can link to the county’s website, aswell as to a menu of interactive links to re-port problems, ask questions, or find outwhat’s going on around the county.

For example, alerting the county to apothole is a quick and easy task, county offi-cials said. The mobile app relies on GPS topinpoint the location and then allows thephone’s user to upload a photo along withcontact information.

Reports also can be made to depart-ments such as code enforcement and

animal services.Want to adopt a pet? You can start the

process via your phone. You can send general inquiries, too.“Residents can also see how many peo-

ple are making requests,” Bayley said.As the mobile app evolves, new func-

tions will be added, including the ability topay utility bills by phone.

Pasco County Commissioner JackMariano likes the new app.

“What a phenomenal program to bringforward…probably saving a few phone callsto us about fixing a pothole.

“So fantastic,” he said.

Pasco County Schools students faredbetter on some state end-of-course teststhan students across the state.

Pasco students scored levels 3 – 5 onstate end-of-course exams in biology, civics, geometry, U.S. history and eighth-gradeFCAT Science 2.0, exceeding the perform-ance of students across Florida.

“I’m pleased that we’ve made gains insome of the areas in which we’ve beenconcentrating, and that the dis-trict overall is outperformingthe state average in several ofthe test subjects,”Superintendent Kurt Browningsaid in a news release fromPasco County Schools.

Several district schoolsdemonstrated significant im-provement on FCAT Science2.0 in 2015 compared to 2014.

The following schools re-ported increases of at least 10percentage points for studentsscoring at Achievement Level3, which indicates proficiency,or higher:

• Grade 5: Moon Lake, Pine View, R.B.Cox, Seven Springs, West Zephyrhills,Countryside Montessori and Florida VirtualAcademy

• Grade 8: Academy at the Farm andCountryside Montessori

These schools showed overall improve-ment on the FCAT Science 2.0 exam:

• Grade 5: Chasco, Cody River, R.B.Cox, Double Branch, Fox Hollow, GulfTrace, Lake Myrtle, Long Leaf, Marlowe,Moon Lake, New River, Odessa, PascoeSchool, Pine View, Richey, San Antonio,Sand Pine, Seven Springs, Trinity Oaks, WestZephyrhills, Countryside Montessori andDayspring, Florida Virtual Academy

• Grade 8: Centennial, Chasco, Crews

Lake, Gulf, Hudson, John Long, Pasco,Rushe, River Ridge, Stewart, Academy at theFarm, Athenian and CountrysideMontessori

Two schools showed improvement onBiology end-of-course exams:

• Fivay High School improved bynine percentage points

• Mitchell High improved by two per-centage points

These schools improved their scores onthe U.S. History end-of-course exams:

• Anclote: From 52 per-cent proficient to 56 percentproficient

• Fivay: From 78 percentproficient to 81 percent profi-cient

• River Ridge: From 73percent proficient to 78 per-cent proficient

• Wesley Chapel: From67 percent proficient to 70percent proficient

• Wiregrass: From 82 per-cent proficient to 83 percentproficient

• Zephyrhills: From 62percent proficient to 72 percent proficient

The district is not making comparisonsof scores on the civics end-of-course examsbecause the standard setting for that examoccurred after scores were reported lastyear.

While the district showed gains in sev-eral areas, its fifth-grade science scoresdipped to two percentage points belowthe state average.

The district will be posting a full reporton the district’s Accountability, Researchand Measurement web page,PascoSchools.org/research.

In other news, the school district re-cently reported that its graduating class of2015 earned more than $20 million inscholarship offers.

Creating the music of angels

By B.C. [email protected]

It’s a Wednesday afternoon and membersof the Saint Anthony Choristers pay rapt at-tention as Sandra Lau, their director, runsthrough a practice.

They sing portions of several hymns asthey prepare for a special Mass, celebratingthe sacrament of confirmation, at SaintAnthony of Padua Church in San Antonio.

Lau is exacting, but kind. She coaxes the singers to think about

the meaning of the text and to convey thatthrough their dynamics.

“This basically is a song of rejoicing,” shereminds them during one hymn. “It doesn’talways have to be loud, but it needs to havethat sense of energy. That excitement.

“Let’s try again,” she said.During other songs, she urges them to ar-

ticulate the words they’re singing and to bemindful of not only the notes, but of theirtiming and duration.

Although this rehearsal is to prepare forconfirmation, the choral group also ispreparing to present a public concert of sa-cred music planned for 3 p.m., at thechurch, on June 28.

The choir sings in other venues, too, such as Orlando and Washington D.C.

In December, some of them will make apilgrimage to Vatican City.

They’ll join choirs from all over theworld to offer their voices in song at theNew Year’s Day Mass celebrated by PopeFrancis in St. Peter’s Basilica.

The Mass will conclude the 40thInternational Congress of Pueri Cantores.

Pueri Cantores, which means “littlesingers” in Latin, founded in France in 1907.

The organization is dedicated to the con-viction that singing can be an instrument inworshipping God.

Saint Anthony Choristers is part of thelargest delegation of American singers everto participate in a Pueri Cantores Congress, with almost 2,000 pilgrims expected to trav-el from the United States to Rome.

Other activities during the week includethe “Mass of the Nations,” where theAmerican choirs will celebrate a Mass inEnglish in the Basilica of St. John Lateran, various “Concerts of Hope” at major church-es in Rome, featuring an international mixof children’s choirs from among PueriCantores’ 37 federations around the world, and a private audience with the Holy Father,at which the “little singers” will singChristmas carols from their home countries.

While the upcoming trip to Rome is ex-citing, many choir members said they enjoythe weekly rehearsals, as well as singing at

the 10:30 a.m. Mass the first Sunday of themonth during the school year and for spe-cial occasions such as confirmation, firstCommunion, Christmas Eve and Easter.

Lau has been the organist and choir di-rector at St. Anthony of Padua since 1987,and has had children’s choirs almost the en-tire time.

The Saint Anthony Choristers became af-filiated with Pueri Cantores in 2007,expanding the choir’s opportunities to par-ticipate in regional festivals andinternational choral gatherings.

Many of the singers in the choir have be-longed for several years.

“I really like the experience,” said 13-year-old Holly Phelps. “We have a great director, and it helps train your voice, and you get tosing for lots of events.”

Sixteen-year-old Rose Phelps has beenwith the choir for nine years. “I love singingfor church,” she said.

Eighteen-year-old Shanon Teicher saidthe experience has helped her becomemore outgoing.

“I joined the choir being super shy,” shesaid. It was her way of getting more in-volved with the church, but she said, “It’s somuch more than that.”

Emily Balling, 15, has been in the groupfor more than five years.

“I really love it,” Balling said. She’s enjoyed singing at music festivals

and is excited about the upcoming trip toRome.

“It just sounds so amazing when youhave all of those voices together,” she said.

Tierra Carson, 16, who is thinking aboutmajoring in organ or piano, said the choralsinging is all about working together to cre-ate a unified effect.

Fifteen-year-old Alexis Rosario said she’shad a passion for music for as long as she

can remember. She’s been playing piano since age 6, and

also plays harp and violin.“I’ve had a great passion for music ever

since I was born. She loves being in the choir because of

“all of these harmonies and praising God atthe same time.”

She’s excited about the pilgrimage.“To be able to go to Rome, that’s huge,”

Rosario said. This is the second time the church has

sent members of its youth choir to Rome;the other time was five years ago, Lau said.

And, two years ago, members of thegroup took part in the InternationalCongress in Washington D.C.

Lau, who herself fell in love with music

when she was attending Saint AnthonyCatholic School, is confident that the upcom-ing experience will leave a lasting impression.

“It is life-changing. It is fantastic,” Lausaid.

There will be thousands of childrensinging together.

“They may be sitting next to somebodyfrom France on this side, Portugal on thisside, Germany — it’s just an amazing experi-ence for them.”

Lau hopes the experience will be trans-formative, too.

“What we’re hoping is that this will helpthem to fall more deeply in love with theCatholic Church and realize they are a smallpart of something huge and beautiful,” Lausaid.

She uses these three As to describePHSC’s mission: “It’s accountability, accessi-bility and affordability. Those three As trulymake an equation for success,” Johnson said.

“Those are the three As that I’ve alwaystried to tie our mission to, so that we don’tlose our way,” she said.

The college is focused on providing edu-cational opportunities.

“Students, students, students – are at theheart of what we do,” Johnson said.

While she has played a visible role insteering the college through change andgrowth, she is quick to point out that thereare many people behind the scenes whohave played a vital role in the college’s dailyoperations, and its long-term success.

As Johnson prepares to leave her post, she’s delighted that the administration build-ing at Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranchwill bear her name.

“I was shocked that that would be a rec-ommendation by the board, and that itwould be so warmly engaged and approvedby the board. I’m obviously humbled andhonored to have my name on one of thebuildings at Porter,” she said.

She recalled meeting Don Porter on herfirst day as college president.

At that very first lunch, Porter toldJohnson about his vision for higher educa-tional opportunities for students living inthe community. The family’s later contribu-tion of 60 acres for the campus played aninstrumental role in making that visioncome true,

“Don Porter has to be smiling from upabove because this was his vision. This wasTom’s vision, God rest his soul, as well, andcertainly Bill and J.D.”

The campus could not have happenedwithout the Porter family, Johnson said.

“We couldn’t have afforded to buy thatland,” she said, and she thinks it is fitting thatthe campus bears the family’s name.

“To know that that gift, for perpetuity, will forever change lives of students is apretty strong legacy that we’re delighted tohave associated with the Porter family,”Johnson said.

Now, the campus serves not only stu-dents living in Pasco and Hernandocounties, but also students fromHillsborough and Pinellas counties.

“We certainly have picked up tremen-dous enrollment from our sister counties,”Johnson said, noting that the campus is con-venient and offers attractive programs.

As PHSC looks to the future, it will beunder the direction of Tim Beard, who be-comes the college’s fourth president, effective July 1.

Johnson plans to move to Gainesville tojoin her husband, who has already moved to

their retirement home. She plans to sit out a year because of the

state retirement system requirements, butafter that, she’s interested in working part-time training potential collegeadministrators through the Institute ofHigher Education at the University ofFlorida.

“I don’t see myself being idle,” Johnsonsaid.

As she reflects upon her life as an educa-tor, she said she’s grateful for both itschallenges and opportunities.

She said she couldn’t have asked for abetter career.

A decade of progressDuring Katherine M. Johnson’s 10-yeartenure, Pasco-Hernando State College has:• Increased its graduation rate by 43 per-

cent• Increased its foundation’s assets by 50

percent• Added the Spring Hill and Porter at

Wiregrass Ranch campuses• Transitioned to a state college offering

cer, friends said. She’d undergone more than70 rounds of chemotherapy and multiplesurgeries.

The disease began in her colon but hadspread all over her body, including her liver, lungs, spine and brain, said Stephanie Hardy,a family friend for the past four years.

Hauser had been to Seattle for treatmentbut had returned to Wesley Chapel to attendNoah’s eighth-grade graduation and Tatum’sdance recitals.

She made it to the graduation, but wasn’table to go to the recitals. She was able towatch one — that was livestreamed — fromher bed, Richard Hauser said.

The family had thought that potentialtreatment in Seattle offered Hauser her besthope and she had planned to return there, but she died at home, under the care of hos-pice.

Her battle was personal, but she wasn’talone.

Her fight inspired family, friends, col-leagues and strangers to step forward toshow their support.

The family also is being helped by aGoFundMe account, established by PamelaMaurer Fay on May 23, which attracted hun-dreds of donations and sentiments ofsupport.

“You are strong and you are loved. Findstrength in the amount of people who wishto help your beautiful family. You are in ourprayers,” Rick and Susan Coder wrote, whenmaking their donation.

After learning of Laura’s death, PascoCounty Schools tweeted out a message:“Rest in peace, Laura Hauser. A great educa-tor, mom, wife and friend to many. You willbe missed.”

Hauser worked at Wesley ChapelElementary School before her illness causedher to leave the job.

While she was working there in 2012,she received the award for School-RelatedPersonnel of the Year for Pasco CountySchools. The distinction goes to a nonin-structional employee who makesoutstanding contributions.

At the time of the award, Hauser’s titlewas media and technology assistant, butboth her colleagues and her boss said herinfluence was far broader.

She was the campus photographer. She

handled lunch duty. She shelved books andchecked them out. She had a photographyclub for kids, put together the school’s year-book and helped teachers with technicalissues.

Principal John Abernathy, described herthis way: “Laura is hands-down the most reli-able, the most efficient, the mostdependable, the most sincere person that Ican say that I’ve run across in a really longtime.

“In terms of the lives that I would saythat Laura has touched – I couldn’t even puta number to it. She’s a very passionate per-son herself, and I think she brings thatpassion to everything she does. It’s who sheis.”

Even more impressive was Hauser’s un-bridled enthusiasm, despite chemotherapytreatments for her cancer, colleagues said.

Colleagues and friends from the elemen-tary school have continued to show theirsupport for the family. Recently, IrisBarcelona and Christopher Gorman coordi-nated WCES Makes a Splash Water Day forMrs. Hauser.

Rudy Dorough and Kristi Traver Doroughdonated the water slide for the event.

Donations were accepted that day tobenefit the Hausers.

Friends from the Contempo School ofDance in Lutz also have been in the family’scorner.

They raised money by selling refresh-ments and T-shirts, said Hardy, whosedaughter has danced with Tatum Hauser atthe studio.

The dance moms also got together andmade dinner for the family for threemonths, said Richard Hauser, Laura’s hus-band who is a firefighter and paramedic forHillsborough Fire Rescue, and works threepart-time jobs.

“Strangers would come up and say, ‘Oh,here’s a lasagna.’ I heard about your wife.”

The support has been both tangible andintangible.

“One day, everybody she knew woreblue. Hundreds of people,” Richard Hausersaid.

The cancer caused enormous pain andsorrow for Laura and her family, but theyalso have experienced the incredible kind-ness of others, Richard Hauser said.

He said cancer did not define his wife. Itgalvanized her determination and demon-strated her strength.

When Land O’ Lakes resident KassPilczuk came to the New Tampa FamilyYMCA 11 years ago, she was a swim coach.

Now she’s the adaptive coordinator, cre-ating and maintaining programs for adultsand youth with developmental or physicaldisabilities.

It’s grown a lot over the years, especiallyconsidering where the program was whenshe first arrived.

“There was nothing,” Pilczukrecalled. “There was a group coming overthat would use the pool once in a while, butthe Y itself had nothing at all.”

Today, the YMCA’s adaptive programsserve more than 40 people.

The facility has adaptive programs inswimming, art, basketball and volleyball. Italso has a group that participates in areawalks and runs (they call them “rolls” if theparticipant is in a wheelchair).

The main program is close to Pilczuk’sheart: Swimming. With both beginner andadvanced classes, the swimming programhas given people of all ages new confidencein the water.

On May 3, the YMCA hosted its FourthAnnual Adaptive Swim Meet at its pool,16221 Compton Drive. The meet includedswimmers from an Orlando special-needsprogram and from the Hillsborough CountyParks, Recreation and Conservation depart-ment.

Pilczuk would like to get more YMCA fa-cilities involved in future events.

The swimming classes give the partici-pants a lot more than lessons on good form, according to Pilczuk.

“It’s something they can succeed at. Theymay not have the best technique, but theycan have fun, and they can feel good aboutthemselves,” she said.

Pilczuk speaks from experience, and notjust as the YMCA’s adaptive coordinator, oras a swim coach. Her daughter, Kathy, is de-velopmentally delayed and has beenswimming for decades. She participated in

the adaptive meet, including making flipturns when she swam freestyle.

Even though she’s one of the more ad-vanced swimmers, Kathy enjoys being apart of the program.

“You have fun and do all the differentstrokes,” she said.

Some members become very skilled atthose strokes. A couple of swimmers wenton to swim for both the YMCA’s swim team

and their high school’s team, Pilczuk said. That kind of acceptance is important, espe-cially to individuals who don’t assimilate asoften as they’d like in school.

Most of the adaptive program swimmersdon’t get that far, but they still reach mile-stones in the pool.

Many had never been swimming before, and Pilczuk recalls one participant who hadnever owned a bathing suit before joining. But they learn new skills, improve overtime, socialize and support each other.

The adaptive activities have helped hun-dreds of participants over the years, butincreasing the size of the program is a con-stant challenge. Some families might havetransportation issues, and the fact that par-ticipants must be facility members mightdiscourage some from joining.

That’s disappointing to Pilczuk, becausethe YMCA offers scholarships for those withfinancial hardships, and it has a reputationfor not turning people away due to inabilityto pay, she said.

The adaptive program is free with aYMCA membership.

While swimming will always be impor-tant to Pilczuk (her son, Bill, was a five-timenational champion and took gold at the1998 World Championships), she also wantsto keep building the adaptive program outof the water.

A drama program would be a great addi-tion, she said, but would depend on findingthe right teacher.

They’ve added a wellness program foradults, including participating in cardio andyoga classes, which is a separate activity afew days each month and is notincluded with YMCA membership.

Pilczuk continues to work toward build-ing a stronger, more diverse program.

The most rewarding part of her job, shesaid, is “seeing the look on their faces whenthey accomplish something. They’re just soproud of themselves and happy.”

For more information about the adaptiveprograms at New Tampa Family YMCA, callPilczuk at (813) 866-9622, or email [email protected].

It used to be the finest hotel in Tampa. Now it’s a museum, and a place dad can visit for freeon his special day.

By Michael [email protected]

Mother’s Day is such a specialevent, we almost forgetabout that other day the fol-lowing month. But Father’s

Day is just as important, and a great holidayfor people who like to do things on thecheap. After all, who was better at pinchingpennies when you were growing up thandear old dad?

So, if you can celebrate Father’s Day andsave some money at the same, you’ll earnhis admiration and respect. You’ll be a chipoff the old block. And we’ve found a fewbargains this weekend you both mightenjoy.

First things first: if you read last month’sMother’s Day article (and you really missedout if you didn’t), you read about a bunch ofgreat places to take mom at a big discount.Lowry Park Zoo, the Museum of Science &Industry, and the Florida Aquarium all hadspecials where mom got in free with a paidadmission. And the deal was good forSaturday and Sunday, so you could spreadthings across the weekend.

Well, good news: The same deal appliesfor Father’s Day, too. Pay for an admission, and dad get gets in free this weekend. So

On The Cheap Fun for Father’s Day

Does dad like dinosaurs? If so,Dinosaur World, 5145 Harvey Tew Roadin Plant City, might be the perfect Father’sDay destination.

Think of Dinosaur World as Jurassic Parkwithout all the mayhem and chaos of livedinosaurs attacking the patrons. Instead, there are around 20 acres filled with hun-dreds of life-size dinosaur models in agarden setting. They’re very detailed, andmany of them tower over you, giving visi-tors an idea of what it would be like tocome face to face with a Brontosaurus,Velociraptor or Tyrannosaurus Rex.

If that isn’t cool enough, they have mo-tion-activated animatronic dinosaurs inside

(like a Stegosaurus and Pterodactyl), aswell as a museum with real dino fossils. There’s even a Florida Fossil section with adisplay of fossils native to our state.

It’s all definitely entertaining, but edu-cation is a big deal at Dinosaur World. With interactive shows and paleontolo-gists on hand to answer questions, there’sa lot see and learn. And if you go onFather’s Day, dad gets in absolutely free, when accompanying someone with apaid admission ($16.95 for adults, $11.95for children ages 3 to12).

For more information aboutDinosaur World, call (813) 717-9865 orvisit DinosaurWorld.com.

whether he likes safari animals, marine lifeor science and technology, you have dadcovered. And you save a lot of money, too. Allof those tickets cost more than $20 per per-son. So if you visit all three, you’ll savearound $70 and get a weekend full of funmemories.

That could be a full column right there, but we already covered those places lastmonth. So how about a couple more wedidn’t mention earlier that also have specialsrunning for Father’s Day?

All you have to do is pick what dadwould like most, get ready for a fun week-end and receive endless praise for being sowise with your money.

Happy Father’s Day.

At Dinosaur World, you and dad will come face to face with some prehistoric parents.

For the Jurassic dad

Suppose dad likes history, but doesn’twant to go back to the Mesozoic era. Howabout the Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W.Kennedy Blvd., in Tampa? The national his-toric landmark was a state-of-the-art hotelin the late 1800s, and while most of it isnow the campus of the University ofTampa, a section has been preserved andrestored as a museum.

Each room is a piece of elegant histo-ry, with Moorish Revival (I think thatmeans really fancy) architecture, andsome original furnishings. And the self-

guided audio tour gives you informationand cultural perspective to what you’reseeing.

If you want to experience the heightof luxury around 125 years ago (it is stillpretty luxurious), this is a great place tobring dad on Father’s Day. He gets in free, when accompanying someone with apaid admission ($10 for adults, $5 for chil-dren ages 4 to 12).

For more information about theHenry B. Plant Museum, call (813) 254-1891 or visit PlantMuseum.com.
