• Homestation* > radius of 20 km from CERN

• New place of residence > 20 km in a straight line from the previous place of residence

• Within 2 years of contract termination

Benefits

• Cost of the journey = travel expenses (cheapest form of public transport)Travel from CERN to the home station or to the new place of residence provided that the latter cost does not exceed the cost of the journey to the home station

• Luggage expenses (max. 30 kg by CARGO air freight)

• Travel and luggage expenses for the family members provided that they take up residence with the member of personnel

Beneficiaries Conditions

• Be entitled to payment of travel expenses

• Remove within two years of contract termination

• Minimum 12 months contract duration

• Not resign during the 1st year of contract

Benefits

• Payment of one only removal expenses either to his home station or to his new place of residence (provided that the latter cost does not exceed the cost of the removal to the home station)

• Payment of removal expenses for household and personal effects within the limits indicated in Administrative Circular No. 30

• Payment of the cost of storing furniture for a maximum period of 12 months

Procedure

• Submit to the Installation service 3 removal quotations 6 weeks before the scheduled date of the removal at the latest

• Arrange, after Installation service agreement, all the practical details of the removal with the company (such as the date, the time, and the locations of the loading and unloading points).

• The removal firm must submit the invoice directly to the Installation service. Any disputes resulting from damage or associated insurance matters must be settled by the member of the personnel with the removal and/or insurance company directly.

• Be entitled to payment of removal expenses

• not have been dismissed for disciplinary reasons or for reasons of unsatisfactory service

• nor have tendered their resignation, except where the Director-General deems their resignation to be in the interest of the Organization (notably in the case of participation in the progressive retirement programme or the part-time work programme as a pre-retirement measure)

Procedure

• Submit the payment request before the time limit to the HR-Reinstallation service (Form sent with the departure formalities).

• Furnish proof that the reinstallation has taken place within 2 years of contract termination, to which end the following documents must be attached to the claim:

proof of the former place of residence*: departure certificate (if issued) or any other documentary evidence that the Organization deems appropriate, and

proof of the new place of residence: arrival certificate** or certificate of tax domicile or income tax statement or certificate of residence** or any other document that the Organization deems appropriate.

• To qualify for the amount applicable to staff in receipt of the family allowance, the same documentary evidence must be furnished for at least one of the persons whom the Organization deems to be a dependent of the staff member concerned.
