Importance of Professional Skills

In the present examination system,

memorization occupies a dominant place. The

recall of factual knowledge, though essential to

any examination, is only one of several major

abilities to be demonstrated by the graduates.

The new assessment process must test higher

level skills viz. ability to apply knowledge, solve

complex engineering problems, analyze,

synthesize and design. Further, professional

skills like the ability to communicate, work in

teams, lifelong learning have become important

elements for employability of the graduates.

It is important that the examinations must give

appropriate weightage to the assessment of

these higher level skills and professional

competencies which requires new techniques for

the development of rubrics.

Event:-ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON “SWAYAM-NPTEL AWARENESS”

About the Event- A One day workshop was organized on 08th November, 2019 at NIT Patna with the technical support from IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras under TEQIP III on “SWAYAM-NPTEL AWARENESS”. The participants on behalf of MACET, PATNA were as follows.

A Welcome note was given by Dr. Vivekanand Singh (Coordinator, SWAYAM- NPETEL AWARENESS WORKSHOP) NIT, PATNA. Prof. S. K. Verma (Dean, Academic) NIT, Patna introduced all the resource persons. He showed his keen interest for the successful conduct of the workshop. He also interacted with all the participants of different colleges who were present in the Auditorium.

Afterward, the resource person Prof. Prathap Haridoss (Coordinator, NPTEL) IIT Madras took the lead and started the session through his power point presentation. He was highly energetic and knowledgeable person who was just outstanding during his interaction with the participants. In his presentation, he shared various key information related to the digital platform of learning like “MOOC” (Massive open online courses), “SWAYAM” (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) and “NPTEL” (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) . He emphasized more on ‘NPTEL’ which is a national coordinator of ‘SWAYAM’ Portal. He discussed in detail the importance of various online courses, enrolment process and benefit of registration for the proctored exam.

Later on Ms. Bharthi Bala (Head coordinator, NPTEL) took her session in which she discussed various other attributes of NPTEL Viz. Local chapters, Credit transfer scheme and CSR (Corporate social responsibilities) etc.

MR. MD NADEEM ENAM (ASST. PROF, DEPT. OF ECE, MACET, PATNA) asked several questions to Ms. Bharthi regarding the FDP (Faculty development Programme) Approved Courses available on NPTEL portal. He also discussed the evaluation scheme for the assessment of marks in a particular course. Overall the workshop was extremely good and informative.

ACTIVITY 02 ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEET OF MACET, NEORA, PATNA (16TH NOVEMBER, 2019)

Event: -ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEET AT MACET, NEORA, PATNA

About the Event-Azad Alumni Association (AAN) has organized its

first ever Alumni meet at MACET campus on 16thNovember. To grace

this occasion the chief guest was our respected president Dr. Ahmad

Abdul Hai along with vice president Mr. S.S. Mashhadi, Secretary Mr.

Ehsan Ahmed, Director of the college Prof.(Dr.)Asim Kumar, Dean of

academic affairs Prof.(Dr.) Md. Masood Ahmed, Finishing school

Coordinator Mr. Amir Junaid Ahmad, HODs of different departments,

faculty members and students.

The program was organized by Mr.Mumtaz Ahmed (Patron -AAN) an

alumni of the institute along with Mr. Kamran who is the president

of AAN. Mr. Vikash Gupta (vice president, AAN) Md. Faisal Jamal

(Treasurer, AAN) and Mr. Anil Kumar (IT head of AAN) were also

present on this occasion. In this gathering, students across the world

of previous batches participated and interacted with each other

after so many long years. They shared their success stories,

professional experiences and motivated their juniors for selection of

better career options and grabbing the opportunities in the market.

They have also committed to help and guide wherever the students

need. Some Alumni also presented their views with the help of PPTs

and one to one interaction to make students feel comfortable and

communicative. They also pledged to facilitate the college in budding

up and make this India’s most excellent private Engineering College.

CELEBRATION OF MAULANA AZAD DAY AT MACET, PATNA

(17TH November, 2019)

Event: - CELEBRATION OF MAULANA AZAD DAY AT MACET, PATNA

About the Event-Maulana Azad College of Engineering & Technology,

Neora, Patna has celebrated 131st birth anniversary of Maulana Abul

Kalam Azad, (the first Education Minister of India) who was very

renowned scholar of Islam and Science on 17th November, 2019 at

MACET campus. Maulana was born on 11th November 1888 and this

date is marked as National Education day in India.

On this occasion, the chief guest Mr. Haroon Rashid, (Hon’ble

Chairman of Bihar Legislative Council) was invited. Mr. Rashid

highlighted some very important aspect of life of Maulana Abul

Kalam Azad which was phenomenal and inspirational to all of us. He

suggested all the students to take the lessons from Maulana’s life.

Prof. (Dr). Asim Kumar (Director, MACET) had started the program

with his opening speech. Afterward, Dr. Ahmad Abdul Hai (President,

MACET) highlighted the major works of Maulana in context of nation

building and propagating the significance of education for all citizens

of India. Mr. S.S. Mashhadi (vice president, MACET) had also

contributed with his precious words on Abul Kalam Azad and

encouraged the students to follow his path in order to get success.

The program was a huge success in the presence of Mr. Ehsan

Ahmed(Secretary, MACET),Prof.(Dr.)Asim Kumar(Director, MACET)

,Prof.(Dr.) Masood Ahmad(Dean, Academic), Mr. Amir Junaid Ahmad

(Coordinator, Finishing school, MACET), all departmental heads,

faculty members of the MACET family and the students.

The program was ended with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Prof

(Dr) Md. Masood Ahmad.

Event: ONE DAY WORKSHOP ORGANIZED BY AKU START UP CELL

About the Event: - One day workshop "Inside Story: Bihar Startups in Action" was organized by Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) START UP on 29th November, 2019 at Hotel Patliputra Continental, Patna. Forty students from several affiliated colleges of AKU participated in the event. Twenty eight students from MACET, Patna also participated in the event.

The program started with a welcome speech by Mr. Aamir Junaid Ahmad, Startup Co-coordinator, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna followed by students sharing their ideas through PPTs.

Two delegates also from Bihar Start-ups Club, Mr. Vivek P. (Founder-Webx99) and Kriti (Business Strategist - Railrestro) addressed the gathering. They presented Short Case Studies on some tech startups that they created as RailRestro, SevaMart, Rail Mitra, My Online prep etc. Ms. Fatma S. from Startup Studio, Patna also shared her experiences working with different National and International startups. The objective of this workshop was to motivate the students on startup business & ideas and providing those guidelines of utilizing Government facilities in this regard.

Event:- ONE DAY WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS ON START UP AT HOTEL

PATLIPURTA CONTINENTIAL ,PATNA.

About the Event-One day Startup Program was held for Third and Final year students of different colleges affiliated under Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU). The program was started by Mr. Aamir Junaid Ahmad (Startup Co-coordinator, A.K.U) followed by Miss Fatma S.(founder of startup studio, Patna) and Mr. Vivek P. (founder of WEBX99).

The whole program was divided into two sessions. In the first session all new Entrepreneurs gave the brief idea about start up and its strategies for better understanding of industrial structural changes in the market and the implementation of different ideas regarding the same.

Whereas the second session was an interactive session between the Students and Entrepreneur. Students were very excited with their queries and very satisfied with the answers given by the guests.

Dr. Motiur Rahman Ansari ,Assistant Professor, Department of

Physics, has presented a paper titled “THE INTERACTION OF ENERGY

WITH MATTER IN THE LIGHT OF QUANTUM MECHANICS (STUDY ON

QUANTUM MECHANICAL TREATMENT OF RADIENT ENERGY)” in

International Conference on Recent Innovation in Engineering

Science & Management (RIESM’19) held on 23rd November-2019 at

Osmania University campus, Hyderabad.

Mr. Aamir Junaid Ahmad Assistant Professor, Department of

Computer Science Engineering has participated in 5th International

Conference( 09th- 10th November-2019) on Nanoelectronics, Circuits

& Communication Systems(NCCS-2019) and presented a paper titled

“Searching Social Networking sites using Natural language

processing Technique Query classification” organized by IETE & ISVE

at Advanced Regional Telecom Training Centre BSNL, Ranchi.

Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Abuturab has participated in the online course

“Basics of Quantum Mechanics (August 15 to November 18, 2019)

under Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), IIT Kanpur and

successfully completed.

Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Abuturab has presented a research paper

titled “Multiple color-image fusion and watermarking based on

discrete wavelet transform and Yang-Gu mixture amplitude-phase

retrieval algorithm in Fresnel transform domain” at 6th IEEE (UP

Section) International Conference on Electrical ,Electronics and

Computer Engineering 2019 (8th to 10th November, 2019) at Aligarh

Muslim University (India). The paper will be published in IEEE

Conference Proceedings and will be included in the IEEE Xplore

Digital Library.

Dr. Tajuddin Ali Ahmad, Assistant Professor in Electronics & Communication

department has successfully completed the BASIC ELECTRONICS CIRCUITS course

and has been awarded the NPTEL Online Certification Elite (funded by Ministry of

HRD Gov Of India).

department has successfully completed the CDMA/MIMO/OFDM WIRELESS

COMMUNICATIONS course and has been awarded the NPTEL online certification

Elite (funded by Ministry of HRD Gov Of India).

Mr. Md. Naushad Akhtar, Assistant Professor in Electronics & Communication

department has successfully completed the BASIC ELECTRONICS CIRCUITS course

and has been awarded the NPTEL online certification (funded by Ministry of HRD

Gov Of India).

Mr. Md. Inayat Ali, Assistant Professor in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

department has successfully completed the ACCREDITION AND OUTCOME BASED

LEARNING course and has been awarded the NPTEL Online Certification Elite

(funded by Ministry of HRD Gov Of India).
