To guide Tourism Malaysia and the industry players in formulating marketing strategy based on the information and current data through researches and surveys. To ensure the compiling, processing and analyzing of information and data will be beneficial to the development of tourism industry in Malaysia. To analyze and evaluate the promotional programs that have been carried out by Tourism Malaysia.

To acquire information pertaining to the expenditure pattern, traveling behaviour and demographic profiles of foreign tourists into the country.

Data compilation on number of tourist and excursionist arrival, arrivals by mode of transport, by port of entry, etc.
HOTEL SURVEY
Hotel Occupancy Survey
To obtain information such as length of stay, average room rate and number of hotel guest according to country of resident.
Hotel Facilities Survey
To obtain the latest information related to the number of hotels and room supply and also updated information on the facilities provided by the hotels around Malaysia.
TOURISM RESEARCH DATA
To identify local and international issues that will have an impact, positive or negative, towards tourist arrivals to Malaysia
1. Daily News Alert and weekly news bulletin Any news that have impact on tourist arrivals to the country and tourism
growth. 2. Monthly Arrival Justification Analysis on how the internal and external environmental factors contribute to
the growth and decline of tourist arrivals from key market areas. 3. Market Brief Consist of background/information of the selected countries. The
demographic profile, traveling pattern for inbound and outbound, accessibility, economic performance, etc.
