MANAGING YOUR RELATIONSHIP

WITH YOUR EX-PARTNER

It is a very tough job to manage your relationship

between your ex-partner after your divorce or

separation. This presentation consists of few tips

which can make this task easier.

REDEFINE YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Although your relationship has ended, but your

relationship with the children has not ended.

Handle the situation with a business like

attitude. Don’t address personal and old issues to

avoid conflict.

Sometimes it is helpful if you think how would

you feel if the situation was reversed.

ADDRESS THE ISSUES

Find an appropriate way to address the issues.

It is always good to express the problems rather

than keeping them inside.

Moving on is beneficial for both of you. If you are

having difficulties, seek expert help.

TALK TO OTHER PARENT IN A

RESPECTFUL MANNER

Even though you had a bad relation, respect the

other parent as the parent of your children.

Don’t address old issues and avoid blaming each

other for the divorce or separation.

DO NOT ARGUE IN FRONT OF YOUR

CHILDREN

Arguing in front of your children hurt them

psychologically. It is also not good for their self

confidence.

It is best to talk about your separation or divorce

when your children are not around.

You can arrange time for phone conversations or

decide a meeting point.
