Being an old film guy.. this is true through the ages. The notion of "clicks" is something that seems tobe lost among the noobs though. If you move one click in aperature one way or another you cancompensate the exposure by moving the shutter speed one click the opposite way. So, if you want atighter aperture you can compensate by slowing down the shutter speed by one click.
