We have a great meeting planned for you...Maple Grove Boot Camp! We have several staff members who have dedicated their time to come and present some great topics at our meeting. We can’t wait to see you there! Here is a sneak peek of the topics: Enrich/High Ability, Person Online, IXL Math, RTI overview, Fitness Awareness, Helping Your Child Master Math Facts, What Does Your Child Learn During a Guidance Lesson, Positive Behavior Supports, Discovery Ed, Health Services, Twitter 101, and Growing Writers. Maple Grove PTO Silent Auction will begin September 24 and run through October 1 @ 7:00 pm. This year, the items will be listed and all bidding will take place online! More information about the website and process will be sent out closer to the event. Baskets will still be available during conferences for viewing at the school. Items can be picked up at auction close on October 1, sent home with your student, or on a scheduled pick up night at the school. If your family or business would like to donate a basket to the event, contact [email protected] prior to September 19 or bring your basket to the PTO meeting on September 11. Sir Read-A-Lot’s Castle Maple Grove’s Fall Book Fair will be September 24-October 1 Your child will attend the fair during his/her class library time. Store hours are 9am-3pm. Checks payable to Maple Grove PTO. We also accept credit cards from parents, staff and volunteers. Please join us during parent/teacher conferences for our two Open House events on Wednesday, September 24 and Wednesday, October 1, from 4-7:30pm. Also enter to win a chance for an awesome prize! The book fair will be in the pod located outside entrance 4. As always, we are offering you the opportunity to give the gift of reading through the Classroom/Teacher Wish List program. Happy Reading!! Important drop-off/pick-up information: Beginning Monday, there will be a few changes regarding the staff parking lot (the lot between the bus lot and the horseshoe area) that we wanted to make you aware of. This school year, with our increase in students and staff, we are having increased safety concerns with this lot during drop-off and pick-up times. Primarily, we have buses that unload in that area that cannot safely navigate the lot because of cars parked illegally that are dropping off their children, and children who are walking/ running from cars to the sidewalk. This lot is reserved during drop-off and pick-up for families who have a child with physical needs that would make drop-off in the regular car rider line difficult. Unless your family has been issued a yellow car rider tag, you should ONLY be using the regular car rider line. We will be enforcing these new guide- lines beginning Monday, and we appreciate your willingness to keep our kids safe by following the guidelines. It would also help us tremendously with parking challenges if parents who are parking and walking their child in (or picking their child up) are only doing so when absolutely necessary. Even though the car rider line looks long, it only takes ten minutes for the entire line to clear out. As always, the easiest way to ensure your child is here safely and on time is to utilize the school bus. Thank you!
