Enclosed is a copy of the analytical data, Data Qualification Code sheet, and the field sheets for the dust, sediment and drinking water samples taken from your property at the time of the investigation of the Reliance Battery site. The samples were collected during December 1989 by Ecology and Environment, a contractor for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

4 /The dust samples contained lead at a level of 68 milligrams

per kilogram (mg/kg) and cadmium at a concentration of 1.4 mg/kg. These levels are below levels of concern according to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR).

No lead was detected in your drinking water.

The sediment samples collected from your property indicated levels of 290, 420, and 250 mg/kg for lead which is below the level of human health concern. The results for cadmium were 1.9, 2.2, and 1.2 mg/kg which were also below a level of human health

concern.

This information is forwarded to you in accordance with the provisions of Section 3007(a) of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA), and Section 104(e)(4)(B) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) as amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986.
