UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN- LA CROSSE MARCH 2014 1 The Delta Alpha Chapter Big Little Reveal One of the most memorable events of the semester happened this month for the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta – Big Little Reveal. All of the excitement and thrill is built up to all the New Members, and when the day finally arrives they can’t contain their excitement. The New Members get so excited for this time and it also allows the Initiated members to reflect on when they received their big. New Member Megan Buchheit comments on the experience of getting her big: “That moment you receive a big is super exciting. I was able to gain a special bond with someone and her sorority family. The entire week before you get gifts from your big which builds up your anticipation for that moment when you find out who your big is. Receiving a big and the week leading up to reveal has been one of the highlights of my new member period.”

Big Little Reveal

One of the most memorable events of the semester happened this month for the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta – Big Little Reveal. All of the excitement and thrill is built up to all the New Members, and when the day finally arrives they can’t contain their excitement. The New Members get so excited for this time and it also allows the Initiated members to reflect on when they received their big. The National Guard was gracious enough to donate their time into teaching the women of the Delta Alpha Chapter about Self Defense. The ladies learned how to protect themselves and how to stay safe.

Chapter Retreat

Self Defense Training Sisterhood

Sisters had an AmaXing day at Chapter Retreat with bowling, cake decorating, piñata smashing, and candle passing. The sisters were able to really get to know each other on a deeper level and spend some quality time with each other.

Alpha Xi Delta’s annual AmaXing Challenge is right around the corner and we would love to have you. This fun 5K Walk/Run is the highlight of this chapter’s semester, spending all year preparing

for this big event. Bring the whole family or some friends on April 12th to help support Autism Speaks and sign up to join the cause by emailing Erin Wysocki at [email protected]. Can’t

be there but still want to help? We are also willing to take cash or check donations (to Autism Speaks). You can do this by sending your money to the following address:

The new members took an adventure to the High Roller Skating rink and had a great time skating the night away. They also really enjoyed getting to know some of the other members of the Greek Community.

Fall Grades Are In…

For Fall Semester we would like to congratulate the following women for making the Dean’s List: Paige Baxter, Ashley Konkel, Jamie Leslie, Marisa Lucke, Jamie Mathison, Devin Minor, Jessica Proost, Jenna Horton, and Erin Weston.

International Badge Day

This year, to celebrate International Badge Day the Panhellenic Council put on a program to help us remember the meaning and importance of our badge. A presentation was given by Abigail Gnewikow,

Panhellenic Director of Activities, who gave us the history of how International Badge came to be. Sorority women from the La Crosse campus came to the event to celebrate the sorority that they represent and to have a dialogue as to what their badge means to them.
