2 How to use this Manual
This manual is divided into four sections enabling quick finding of the desired information:
This manual is designed for ease of reading especially from computer screens. We have used sans
serif fonts and also made font size a bit larger.
Colour coding will help you navigate between the four sections, so you won’t need to jump to Table
of contents in case you get lost.
We have used device operating systems icons to help you find the right OS with ease.
Additionally we have included some useful Tips to facilitate easy and problem-free content
transfer between connected devices.
Navigation within the document is really simple. On each page there is a navigation box with four
links leading to the beginning of the main sections.

28 Troubleshooting
If devices are not visible in PiceaSwitch or the content is not detected as expected, try the
following steps:
Enable the right modes (USB debugging, Media Transfer mode...) first and then reconnect the
cables
Check if the device is visible in Windows Explorer. If not, reconnect it and try again.
Restart PiceaSwitch
Turn off passcode/screen lock on device
Connect the cable to another USB port (USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.0)
Restart connected device(s)
Install possible missing drivers from Menu: Tools > Manage drivers…
If device does not have a USB port, or Contacts are not available using the USB connection, it
is possible to read them over the Bluetooth connection
If the previous steps didn’t help, check also the following issues:
Check that internet connection is working
Check that none of the following software is running:
o Nokia PC Suite,
o Nokia Suite (Uncheck ’Start automatically at start up’ in Settings), or
o Samsung Kies
o iTunes
Check that the power is switched on in both connected devices
Some devices have no internal no memory, so a memory card should be inserted (e.g. some
Android 2.x devices)
Some devices don’t support USB 3.0, so those devices should be connected to a USB 2.0
port in case they are not detected
Try connecting the device to a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port
Also check if an update for the USB 3.0 driver is available for the PC
If calendar icon is not visible in the target Android device, open the Calendar on the device.
If that does not solve the issue, create a Google account and try again.
MMS (multimedia) messages can be written currently to Android devices. When copying
transferring MMS messages to other platforms a failure with code ‘unsupported content’ is
displayed.
