Nobles,

It is March already! The First Lady and I have had a great February. Gateway, YOMO, Air Patrol and Arab Patrol had their Presentation together. What a great time that was! Some of the Units should think about that for next year. Being able to combine some of the Presentations with more people makes for an even greater and more entertaining evening. The Super Bowl Party was a great membership event. Even though one of two evils had to win, the commercials were fun to watch. We had prospects there so hopefully they will be joining us at the next ceremonial in May. We had our last bus trip to Little Dixie Shrine in Mexico, MO. Their Installation also included Capital Shrine, (Jefferson City, MO), and Tiger Shrine, (Columbia, MO). We were able to see the improvements Little Dixie has made to their Club. It included a Silent Messenger carved out of a big piece of oak. It was a fabulous piece and understand, it was carved with a chainsaw. What talent, and it looked great!

We have the Potentate’s Ball behind us as well. It was Saturday, February 23rd. A great time was had by all, ARRR! It was a fun event and First Lady Diane and I would like to thank each and every person who helped pull it all togeth-er and make it the success that it was.

Now, Moolah is in full Circus mode. It all kicks off on Saturday, March 9th with our Circus Parade followed by the Circus Kickoff festivities. The Parade will be in Downtown St. Charles. The Circus Kick Off will follow the Parade back at Moolah. Bring your family and friends for a fun day of games, face painting, food, clowns and more! There is still time to sell Circus tickets. The ads for the Circus book are in but you can still sell ads for the big screen, ban-ners and ribbon board. Remember that this event is Moolah’s largest fund raiser and we can use any and all the help you can provide and is very much appreciated.

We are taking petitions for new members. The first Ceremonial is May 4th. Don’t wait until the last minute to get them in. After they get through Blue Lodge get them read and voted on at the Stated Meeting. They can still be in-volved, they just can’t attend a Stated Meeting.

Summer is around the corner! I am sure everyone is looking for some warmer weather and some sunshine after the long dreary winter. I have been receiving permits for numerous activities from the Units and Clubs. Be sure to get your permits in to the office. Also, if we know about the events, it’s an opportunity for more people to attend. Speak-ing of summer, our trip this year is to Maui, Hawaii on June 5th–13th and there is still room if you are interested. We are so looking forward to this trip!

The First Lady and I have had a great start and look forward to seeing and being with all of you at the coming events.

Fraternally,

Ill. Sir Don Taylor

These we do not forget “Es Selamu Aleikum”

Charles E. Lazier, Jr.

I don’t know where you are today. You may be far away from God. Maybe you haven’t been to church in years, or maybe you’ve just been distant for a month or two. Maybe you’ve had one of those weeks where you thought, “I really don’t feel God’s presence in my life.” And yet we all long to be close to God.

How do you get back to him?

This is the pathway back to spiritual transformation—the three things you need to do to get back to God.

1.Get fed up with your life.

Nothing is going to happen in your life until you get dissatisfied with the way you are, until you can say, “I don’t like this. I’m tired of being stressed out all the time. I’m tired of being frustrated all the time. I’m tired of being overworked all the time. I’m tired of feeling distant from God.”

Why does God let you get to this point? Because he loves you just the way you are, but he loves you too much to let you stay that way. He will not let you waste your life.

God tells us in Jeremiah 29:13, “When you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed” (The Message).

2. Own up to your sin.

Isaiah 59:2 says, “The trouble is that your sins have cut you off from God. Because of sin he has turned his face away from you” (TLB).

Have you ever prayed and felt like God was a million miles away or like there was this wall between you and God?

Where does that come from? Your sins have separated you from God. But if you feel far from God, guess who moved? God has always been there. He loves you unconditionally, and he’s waiting for you to own up to your sin so you can have a right relationship with him again.

3.Give up control.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “We all show the Lord’s glory, and we are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings ever greater glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

True transformation happens when your heart moves from self-centeredness to God-centeredness. Are you there yet?

That transformation doesn’t happen overnight. God is going to work on you your entire life. But to start the process, you have to make a decision to repent and, “in view of God’s mercy, to offer your [body] as a living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1).

God desires to be close to you and he promises that when we seriously seek him, we will not be disappointed.

We need to sell as many tickets as possible so everyone can enjoy our circus.

Coupons, yard Signs and bumper stickers are outside the Moolah Office if you need them.

We are in need of all volunteers to help at the Circus. Please come out and be part of this exciting time. There are many opportunities. Let me know if you want to help.

Many thanks to the Musclemen who donated their time on Wednesday, January 2 to paint the Amer-ican Muscle Unit room at the Shrine. The room looks great with the brand new paint, large screen TV, lights, and ceiling fans.

We will be working closely with the Swing Dance Unit again this year to transport, store, stock and repair novelties at the Circus which runs from Thursday, March 21 through Sunday, March 24.

The American Muscle Unit will work with the Smokin' Nobles to conduct our Annual Memorial Day BBQ event at Jefferson Barracks on Satur-day, May 18, 2019. This popular event feeds all our veterans and the hospital staff at Jefferson Barracks. The planned menu includes BBQ pork steaks, chicken breasts, cole slaw, potato salad, drinks, and individually wrapped desserts.

If you have a muscle car you would like to show or parade, join us. If you do not have a mus-cle car but would like to drive one of the Unit's Mystical Flying Carpets, join us! The American Muscle Unit meets at 6:30 pm the first Wednes-day of every month. Our Unit room is on the same level as the office, in the SouthWest corner of the Shrine.

March is a month of frustration – It is so near Spring, and yet the weather is so changeable and unpredictable.

CIRCUS! CIRCUS! CIRCUS! Yes, it is time for the Moolah Circus held from March 21st to March 24th. This is an exciting and busy time. The Circus promises to be better than ever with Billy Martin as Ringmaster. It will have elephants, white tigers and amazing specialty acts at the Family Arena to entertain us and many others.

Everyone is working hard to make sure the Circus is successful. The Circus Committee, led by Russell Georgen, Circus Chairman and Ron Reynolds, Circus Director, has been meeting for several months to ensure it all goes smoothly. It takes many hands working and cooperating to bring everything together.

As Ambassadors, we are involved in many Circus activities and support the Circus in differ-ent ways. We display Circus signs and bumper stickers and sell tickets and advertisements. Before and during the Circus, many of us work within our Units/Clubs doing various jobs such as working in novelty booths, helping with the animal rides on the Circus floor, and many other necessary jobs. It takes ALL of us to make the Circus a success.

GOOD NEWS: Our electronic marquee sign is operational. The public can be more easily informed about our events and activities and the fun we have at Moolah. What a great advertising tool. Hopefully it will create interest in what we do and result in an increase in our membership.

Our monthly luncheon will be on March 8th in the Oasis. You can make a reservation by sending an email to [email protected] or calling Wally at 314-498-6915. We hope you come and enjoy a good meal, fine company and the latest about Moolah.

Congratulations to all Ambassadors who have a birth-day this month. Come to the luncheon to celebrate.

There are several Ambassadors in sickness and distress. You can boost their spirits by calling or sending a card. LAST OF THE TRUMAN TRIVIA: 1) President Truman wanted to attend West Point, but his poor vision prevented him from doing so.2) He was a talented piano player and at one time considered a career in music.3) He was voted one of the top ten best dressed Congressmen when he was a Senator.Once an Ambassador, Always an Ambassador!

Happy St. Patrick's Day !!

The election was held and the new officer’s for 2019 are as follows: Jeff Stygar as President, Rob Walters as 1st vice president, Bob Sudholt as 2nd vice president, Chris Grau as Secretary, Rich Prine as Treasurer

The new officers would like to thank you for putting your trust in us to lead the unit in the coming year. Our goal is to keep you well informed of what’s going on and all we ask from you is your partic-ipation. We are a great group and we should be proud of what we do for the patients each year.

The Shrine Patients Christmas Party was once again wonderful. We would like to thank every-one for their help to make it a success, not just our membership and the Nobles from other units, but also to their wives and children and especial-ly the people from outside the Shrine that gave us so much help, “Applaus to you all”.

We have been having good attendance at the meetings but it would be great to see some of the guys that haven’t been for a while. You should come and meet the great new members that have joined the unit.

It was also nice to see more members at the Stated Meetings. They now are starting at 7 PM. Come out and see what’s going on in your Shrine. You can also get your picture taken as we present a $1,000.00 check for the transportation fund each meeting.

“MOTOWN” is prognosticated to be a great success. It is with hopes that we will surpass what we had last year. As always, thanks for all the help to pull it off.

Circus Parade and Kick-off is Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Charles. Circus Kick-off immediately follows at our Moolah Temple. The CIRCUS will be March 21-24. Please sign up to man the novelty booth. We need to fill a lot of time slots. You can also have fun walking in grand entrance parade before each show. As always we will have a good time in the tent between the shows. The Air Patrol will once again have an area in the Moolah Tent outside the St. Charles Arena. We welcome our AirPatrol members to bring their family and friends to join us under the tent for the prognosticated usual GREAT Time !!!! Tailwinds,

The Circus is coming!!! The Circus is coming...to the St. Charles Family Arena! March 21st thru and including March 24th. Better sharpen your hawking skills so the crowds know where to purchase the latest novelties in this 77th Moolah Shrine Circus.

We’ll be welcoming the coming of The Circus as we cruise the route along with other Moolah units in The Circus Kickoff and Parade on March 9th. Look, listen, or even climb aboard the Chanter float as bubbles magically spew forth from our float as we bellow Shrine songs. We start Rollin about 9:00 AM. Be there!

vocal chords. Save some voice for the singing of Our National Anthem.

To adjust mentally for the onslaught of the kinder crowd, be certain to leave your tempers outside the arena. They will surely be tested for the children must handle and try the move-ments of every toy and trinket we sell. The sword that lights up is of special interest to the would-be swashbuckler. “On guard”, they shout as they assume their idea of a dueling stance! Leading up to the splendiferous spectacle of high flyers and high wire performers defying the limits of earths’ gravitational pull, we gasp! Then, more circus distractions below divert our attention to the center ring, as the elephants dance while in another ring the lions and tigers loudly growl their discontent! It becomes a problem of where to look!

Enjoy the spectacular sights at the circus, sell many novelties and sing better than you did when last you sang.

Not much else doing in the Chanter camp except that we hope to be asked to sing our National Anthem at the March 20th Stated Meeting. Our Ladies are welcome to attend.

In the meantime, take your significant other to the circus!

God bless you and yours.

The Smokin' Nobles have had a very busy and successful 2018 BBQing for Hospital Awareness Week, the Fall Ceremonial, and the Hospital Patient Christmas Party. The Unit has many BBQs planned for this year, including the March 21 – 24 Moolah Shrine Circus, working with St. Louis Lodge #1 to conduct BBQs to pay down the Lunch Program deficit for the Pattonville School District, and feeding all our veterans and the hospital staff at Jefferson Barracks pork steaks, chicken breasts, cole slaw, potato salad, drinks, and indi-vidually wrapped desserts on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 18, 2019.

The Unit is looking for fund-raising opportunities such as car shows at which to BBQ. If you know of any such events, please let us know. We are also pursuing a marketing opportunity with O'Fal-lon Brewing which may necessitate a meeting at their brewery for taste-testing! What could be better than BBQ and beer? How about the fact that the Smokin' Nobles Unit still has no annual dues for members!

If you like to BBQ, join us. If you like to eat BBQ, join us! We train new members to prepare the grill and the meat, how to cook the meat, how to keep the meat moist, all leading to better tasting BBQ. The Smokin' Nobles Unit meets the first Wednesday of every month at 7 pm in our newly painted Unit Room around the corner from the Shrine Office in the Southwest wing. We hope to have you join us there. Come check out our big screen TV and giant beer cooler!

The Shrine Circus is here – Yes we have Ele-phants!!! Mark the dates! March 21-24th at the St Charles Family Arena – You should be selling ads and tickets now.

Tim McCraw is our ticket Chairman this year. Sell Sell Sell !!!

We are also setting up the “Jail” for the Circus Kick-off on March 9th.

Please volunteer to be a Sherriff, we plan on arresting everybody!!!!

Circus Parade is March 9th – St. Charles river front. We would like a large turnout. The best foot patrol marching for the kids. If you haven’t marched in a while, please dust off your boots and join us.

We plan on marching in the Downtown St. Patrick Parade. We are waiting for confirmation. Last year we wore Moolah green sweatshirts and were well received by the St. Louis crowd. Mark the date. It will be Saturday March 16th.

Well, in the last Camels’ Tales, I congratulated everyone on a great job at the Trivia nite. These articles have to be sent in a month ahead of time. So if you get out the February issue and read what I wrote then I won't have to say it all again. But Thanks for helping out to everyone.

I have to apologize to Gametime (Paul Gog-gins) and his wife Kathy for not thanking them for an awsome 2018 in the last Camels’ Tales. They both worked really hard for the unit. Your leadership was greatly appreciated and was not overlooked. I seem to do this late every year.

If you worked the RV show you would know that it was a lot of fun meeting all the people and getting

GuidesI would like to take the time to thank all the guides that worked the backstopper event. We had a good turnout and everyone worked really hard January 19th. We all were on our feet hustling for about 9 full hours managing the fundraiser but had a lot of laughs and fun. It was a good event for us a unit monetarily and looking forward to next years event.

The guides/directors staff presentation was well attended and I hope everyone had a great time. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank my wife Sandy and the Chief Aide’s wife Cheri Viner for the wonderful center pieces and decorating. Thanks goes out to all of you who helped set up and make the evening a hit.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all the fellows at our Thursday bingo for the last few weeks. You guys are the best and work hard each and every week. Our unit is fortunate to have such dedicated men. If anyone has time to help, we can always use an extra hand. Wayne will find somewhere to utilize your skills.

We can use more van drivers so if available con-tact Art Goerke. He can give you all necessary details and info.

The Moolah Drum and Bugle Corps extends its congratulations to the 2019 Potentate of Moolah Temple, Illustrious Sir Don Taylor and the Divan who were elected at the December Shrine Meeting. We wish the Potentate and Divan the very best and know that with this fine slate of offi-cers, Moolah Temple will have another successful year of fun, fellowship and service for Shrinedom. Potentate Don has selected Chuck Stratton to serve as his Outer Guard for the year. The Drum Corps is fortunate to have two Past Potentates, Steve Pieper from 1997 and Jim Brandenburg from 2011, who are still active with the Temple and the Drum Corps. Illustrious Sir Don has reappointed David Glenn as Drum Major to guide the Drum Corps for 2019. John Hewitt remains as Chief Aide Emeritus and Don Baur, Richard Watts and Jim Hubeli continue as Aides Emeritus. Bob Atwell continues as President of the Seniors Group. Clowns con’t.them ready for the circus. We have the Home show coming soon so if you couldn't make it last time get your name on the list for this one.

Skit practice is going well and we should be ready for some great performances by our Unit. We will still meet on Mondays at 6:30 so please come out and see how you can help.

As the circus approachs I always like to read the following prayer which will be displayed on the wall in the locker room. This makes me feel really good about what we do as clowns.

As I stumble through this life, help me to create more laughter than tears, dispense more happiness than gloom, spread more cheer than despair.Never let me become so indifferent, that I will fail to see the wonders in the eyes of a child, or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.Never let me forget that my total effort is to cheer people, make them happy, and forget momentarily, all the unpleasantness in their lives. And in my final moment, may I hear You whisper:"When you made My people smile, you made Me smile."Since I couldn't make it to the 50 year anniver-sary dinner I missed seeing the video by Scooter (Dennis Burkholder). I had it sent to me and I think it was Awesome!! Great Job Buddy!

In case you didn't know Tom Brady has an uncle who is one of our members. In fact he was even in his clown outfit during the Super Bowl in the family booth next to Tom's wife Geisel. Yes its our own Merlin (Tom Dolan) who was right behind her during the game along with Tom's kids. Please ask to see one of the rings Brady gave him from one of the wins at the big game.

A doctor examining a woman who had been rushed to the emergency room, took the husband aside, and said, "I don't like the looks of your wife at all." "Me neither Doc," said the husband. "But she's a great cook and really good with the kids."

The Hospital Reception Committee finished 2018 with a hugely successful Racquet Ruckus racquetball tournament on Saturday, December 1. Bob Berry presented a check from the Racquetball Ruckus for $50,512 to the St. Louis Shriners Hos-pital. He and the rest of the Hospital Reception Committee presented a facsimilie of the check at the December Stated Meeting.

The presentation of 2019 officers will take place at noon on February 9 and will include our Ladies and the Divan. Ernie DeClue will chair the lunch which will follow a Valentine's Day theme. Attire for the event will be coat and tie, and because we expect the Potentate to attend, fez.

Andy Maine is researching options for new casu-al Committee shirts. Once the style, fabric, and design for embroidery are chosen and approved, all members will have a matching outfit for less formal events. The former Hospital Committee uniform consisted of a navy blazer and gray pants (with a very ugly striped tie). The Reception Committee uniform is a red blazer and black pants. We hope to have all members of the new Hospital Reception Committee match. There are several extra red jackets in the Unit Room for members to use and new red jackets can also be ordered if necessary.

A Hospital tour for the Nobles created at the Fall Ceremonial is still being planned. Any Noble who would like to join them for a tour of the new Hospital should stay tuned for the next issue of the Camels' Tales for the exact date and time.

March social menu will be corned beef and cabbage provided by the unit and sides/dessert brought in by the ladies. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this time around.

Fraternally, President Rick Uebinger

Hospital Reception Committee con’t. A pancake breakfast is scheduled for Friday, Feb-ruary 8th. Members under the guidance of Head Chef Bob Berry will be preparing Valentine's Day pancakes for our patients, their families, and Hospital Staff.

This Committee took over responsibility for the acquisition, storage, and distribution of toys to our Hospital patients when we moved from the old Hospital on Lindbergh to our current Hospital at 4400 Clayton Blvd. The toys are given out by volunteers from this Committee to all patients at-tending the medical clinics, POPs patients visiting for their orthotics and prosthetics, patients getting physical rehab. therapy, Research Center patients, and all their siblings. This can add up to hundreds of toys every week. A huge “Thank You” to all those who have donated to the Toy Chest Fund. Receiving a toy at the end of a Shriners Hospital visit is a big part of a patient's positive experience, and we could not make this happen every day without your help. If you would like to make a do-nation, please contact either Bill Bradford at (314) 974-3084 or Jim Gesell at (636) 352-5146.

Hospital Reception Committee responsibilities also include collecting the password at Stated Meetings, running the Shrine Gift Shop, collect-ing tickets and donations at Shrine meals, and other duties requested by the Potentate. Our certified members conduct BBQs at the Hospital for patients, their families, and staff and also provide tours of the Hospital. We help staff the reception desk at the Hospital during clinic hours in the morning, afternoon, or both, and addi-tional volunteers are always needed. If you are available, please contact President Bill Bradford at (314) 974-3084.

If you like to interact with and support your fellow Nobles and our Shriner Kids and their families, then we would love to have you join us. Because of the responsibilities of the Committee members at Stated Meetings, we now meet the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm. The new Hospital Reception Committee meets in the room east of the Shrine Office. We look forward to seeing you then!

On March 29 Charlie Mann Band fills the Oasis playing 50`s thru 90`s classics.

Many thanks go to our President Stan and his Lady Gretchen on the successful presentation with our brother unit Gateway 500 on Feb 2nd. President Stan even had vests and ties in our unit colors for our officers.

March is starting out to be a very busy month for guys in the “Little Yellow Cars”. On March 2nd we will be participating in the Mardi Gras as usual, in downtown ST Louis. On March 4th we’ll be at an elementary School in Warrenton. The 9th of March finds us in the Circus Parade in downtown St Charles.

We will be downtown St. Louis on the 16th of March for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. YOMO will have their cars for any of the Grand Entrance parades at the circus along with work-ing floor operations.

Ever wonder where YOMO will be “zinging the little yellow cars”? Our head of the Speakers Bureau, Rob Hynes has put together a website www.MoolahYomo.com. You can go to this web-site, select Calendar. This will show where we are going to be (subject to change), along with more information about YOMO.

Please Nobles remember that after March 1st 2019, your YOMO dues are delinquent, unless you are a Lifetime member. You can pay at a unit or stated meeting. You can even send your dues to the office, and put attention YOMO in the corner of the envlope, and it’ll get to us.

We meet the 2nd Wednesday of the Month, in the YOMO room downstairs. Guys usually arrive 5:30 ish for fellowship and discussion. Dinner is around 6, with the meeting at 7.

We also want to congratulate Paul and Rachel on the birth of their new daughter Isabella.

We have several events that include our families and Lady’s.

Come visit us, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a great visit during our social hour before our Fried Chicken dinner at our regularly scheduled Capital Shrine Club Nobility meeting on February 12, 2019. Thanks to everyone who came and supported us. A special thanks to our Ladies for their support in setting up the meal and providing wonderful desserts.

On March 2, 2019, our Club is volunteering to help the Region 5 Missouri Child Identification Program (MOCHIP) at the Capital Mall from 9:00 to 1:00. Region 5 MOCHIP is sponsored by the Missouri Masonic Children’s Foundation and the Jefferson City Masonic Lodge. It is a comprehensive child identifications program consisting of digital photographs, digital fingerprints, emergency contacts, dental bite impression and identification cards. It is designed to give families a measure of protection against an ever increasing problem of missing and abducted children. Our own Noble Tim Burkett is the Area 5 program manager. Noble Tim is at the Cole County Health Department providing MOCHIP services on the 1st Wednes-day of every month. MOCHIP works directly with Amber Alert.

We are looking forward to the many activities on the 2019 Calendar. We are planning to attend our 3 Club Installation of Officers on Saturday the 16th of February. We also have members attending the Potentate’s Ball on the 23rd of February. The Shrine Circus is coming up as well as CSSA which is always a highlight for our Club. Last year our Indie Cars took 2nd place and we are working towards first place this year.

We always have a great turnout for our annual Fish Fry later this year (watch for more information about this in upcoming editions of Camels’ Tales). We have our local Country and Western Band play for the Fish Fry and it is always a great time.

The Capitol Shrine Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month except July and August and is located at 2432 Tanner Bridge Road, Jeffer-son City, MO.

Looking forward:Mark your calendars because March 22nd through March 25th (At the Circus) Noble Lodge is giving away over $600 directly to a person, Unit, Lodge, or favorite Charity. We are still in need of volunteers to help manage the parking lots for each event, so if you can help, please go to our website at http://www.noble684.com\lot-teryrules where you will find a page that gives the dates and times for each show as well as a sign up sheet for volunteers. Time is running short so we need you to act now.

Further, Noble Lodge is working with Meridian Lodge #2 to co-sponsor a C2A class on Satur-day, April 27th at the Meridian Lodge. This is an opportunity for entered apprentices and fellow craft to earn their remaining degrees and become Master Masons all in one day. So if you think you may want to participate, please notify John Schembri, Lodge Secretary.

Finally, if you know someone who might be interested in becoming a Mason, you can be the 1st line signer of your candidate’s petition. Only 1 signer of a Masonic petition needs to be from Noble Lodge, the other signer can be from any Lodge. Keep this in mind if you have a candi-date. It all starts with you submitting the petition for your candidate. The petition (and $150 initia-tion fee) will be received at our next meeting, and your candidate will be notified of the next steps.

Noble Lodge now has a book rack outside the Lodge Room. It has various books and pub-lications about Masonry. Feel free to borrow anything you’d like to read, or if you have some books you’d like donate, please do so.

To get the most up-to-date information on what’s happening at Noble Lodge, check out our website at http://www.noble684.com.

If you have any questions, contact the Master or Secretary from the information listed.

Thanks to everyone that came out for the chicken dinner last month. We are continuing to have one each month on the second Friday. For March that will be on the 8th. Come out for great food and fun fellowship. This is an open event, bring out your family and friends.

I hope everyone enjoyed the installation of officers last month. As always it was an exciting trip on the bus with good friends, cold drinks and great food at the installation. Come to the meeting and sup-port your officers. The Shrine Circus is coming up on March 21-24 at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Come out and enjoy this fun family event.

The March meeting will be 3/25/19. Folks start show-ing up around 5:30pm. Come out and enjoy the club and have a good meal and some cool drinks.

The Tiger Shrine club is located at 2315 N Stadi-um Blvd, Columbia, MO 65202.

Welcome March, at last we have spring in our sight! It has been a particularly brutal winter. But, we have lots of fun activities in March to get us out of the house and break our hibernation.

A round of applause to Temple Club for the ex-cellent job of baking and buying at our December Bake Sale. We had phenomenal results.

More applause goes to Temple Club for the excellent results of our September Food Drive for Circle of Concern; we collected 600 pounds of food. Thank you Jeanne Smith for chairing this activity. Our next Circle of Concern drive will be at our April meeting. We usually do “personal care” items in April. Due to the recent government shut down, the foodbanks in our area are experiencing shortages. For our April drive we will be collecting both “person-al care” and “food” items. If you don’t have time to shop, donations of money are always welcomed.

Our new First Lady and Honorary Temple Club President, Diane Taylor, presented her Fund Raiser, Feztival of Trees, at our January meeting. Other Shrine Centers have experienced great success with this activity and have made it into a “Christmas Tradition” in their area. Not only will it be fun designing a themed tree, but you and your family will also enjoy the chance to win a tree by bidding on your favorites. A Christmas Shop will feature Holiday snacks for our enjoyment.

A big thank you goes out to Sandy Pinkstaff who has chaired our Membership Committee for many years. She has now handed her duties over to Kathy Myers. Thank you Kathy for volunteering to head up this committee.

Of course, our big March news is the CIRCUS. March 9th is our CIRCUS parade in St. Charles followed by the CIRCUS Kickoff. The CIRCUS is March 21st-24th. There are many ways to enjoy the CIRCUS, the best is to volunteer to help make it a success.

The “Stated Meeting”, on March 20th, is the perfect place to play Bunco while spreading the word about Temple Club. This could be your ideal opportunity to invite prospective members to our meeting on March 27th.

March is a month full of opportunities to get enthused and involved in Moolah Temple and Temple Club. Share your enthusiasm, invite someone to enjoy all the March activities and our Temple Club lunch.

We had one of the best Installation of Officers we have had in years. We used one of the new caterers (Valenti’s) and they did a great job with the food and bar. Lots of compliments for everyone who attended. We also had one of the best attended Installations in a long time as well. A special thank you to our newly elected 2019 Divan and their Ladies for their strong support. It was an evening to remember for everyone in attendance.

Our monthly Dinner Meetings are on the last Thursday of the month at JJ’s Restaurant in O’Fallon. Arrive for dinner between 6:00 and 6:30; we order off the menu and have separate checks. They have great food and reasonable prices. At 7:30 the guys have a brief meeting and the ladies play bunko.

Whether you are a member of Daniel Boone, or not -- we would love to have you and your Lady join us. We’ll make sure that you are greeted when you arrive and that you’ll always feel welcome. If you want to join us for one of our dinners, no reservation needed – just show up!!!

Mark your calendar for Thursday, March 28th and bring your Lady for fun and fellowship. Our Ladies are always encouraged and invited to attend! If you have any questions, give Pres. Dave a call at 636-734-7718.
