STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: The GoverningCouncil meeting of Jammuand Kashmir Ex-ServicesLeague (JKESL) was heldhere on Sunday at Zila SainikWelfare Complex Amphalla.
During the meeting, manyproblems facing by the Ex-Servicemen were discussed asthey feel totally ignored in theState for the last 70 years.
"The issue of Sainik ColonySrinagar was highlightedwhich was accepted by theformer Chief Ministers andeven the area allotted nearthe airport at Srinagar.However it was denied by theformer Chief Minister,Mehbooba and till date thereis no progress. Similarly twohousing colonies sanctionedat Jammu by the then ChiefMinister Dr Farooq Abdullahin1997 have not seen thelight of the day even after 20years," the veterans said.
"The Ex-Servicemen areharassed for issue/renewal ofweapon licenses, six percententitled reservation in jobsare not given particularly inthe police. Not a single soldierhas found enrolment in thepolice for the last 35 years
when the police force hasincreased from 35,000 tonearly one lakh. No Statelevel facilities like job andeducation reservation forwards are available to warwidows, war wounded and thebrave warriors who are paidpoor annuities far lower thanthe other states like Punjab,Haryana and HimachalPradesh," they said.
Finding no hope in theelected leaders, the ex-ser-vicemen are now pinningtheir hopes on the GovernorSatya Pal Malik who has
taken some hard decisionsrecently and implementedthem with speed.

STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Private SchoolAssociation (PSA) on Sundayheld a meeting under itsPresident Kamal Gupta inwhich issues related to privateschools affiliated to theJKBOSE were discussed.
The members present in themeeting briefed the executivemembers of central bodyregarding forthcoming compi-lation, counter-signature ofresults of schools which areaffiliated to the JKBOSE asall of them are still deprived ofrecognition on the basis ofaffiliation by the educationalauthorities of the State. Theyalso highlighted the problemof private schools of districtKathua in depositing RedCross and Games Fund as theadministration of DistrictKathua is putting whimsicaldemand of 100 per cent con-tribution from the privateschools functioning in the dis-
trict.To comfort the sufferer
members, Ajay Gupta,General Secretary ofAssociation said that associa-tion has approached toEducation Department timeand again for the issuance ofrecognition letter to all schoolswhose affiliation is extendedby the JKBOSE since 2018."Education Department hasgranted recognition to only101 private schools ofKashmir division on the basisof affiliation on February 5,2019 but still more than 250schools are in the line andstand deprived," he said.Quoting the reference of allorders since 1986 to till date,he said it is unjust for the pri-vate schools of district Kathuaas elsewhere there is uniformi-ty in percentage to be collectedby the department for as RedCross and Games Fund in alldistricts of the entire State.
Kamal Gupta demandedimmediate issuance of grant ofrecognition letters on the basisof affiliation to all privateschools to eradicate corruptionand promote single windowclearance system. He alsodemanded the correction ingovernment order no 108Education of 2018 datedFebruary 1, 2018 which wasissued by the Secretary to theGovernment School EducationDepartment for the govern-ment schools regarding collec-tion and deposit of games andRed Cross funds. It was unan-imously demanded to extendthe same order to the privateschools too.
Among those who attendedthe meeting includeRameshwar Mengi VicePresident JKPSA, VishwaMohan Sharma, AshwaniSharma, Krishan Singh, AjaySingh, Rajeev Malhotra andNazia Bano.

STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: National MazdoorConference (NMC) appealed toall mainstream political partiesto clear their stand regardingimplementation of recommen-dations of Ashok LavasaCommittee in their mani-festoes, which is likely to bereleased shortly for ensuingLok Sabha polls, scheduled tobe commenced from April 11.
While addressing a meetingof NMC workers here onSunday, President NMC,Subash Shastri said thatLavasa Committee had pro-posed a minimum-scale of Rs21,000 for lower-class employ-ees and pensioners. The com-mittee was constituted in wakeof implementation of theSeventh Pay Commission bythe Central Government forremoval of pay anomalies inpay structure of lower class
cadre of both the State andCentral Governments, Shastrisaid, adding that it will be amajor issue in upcoming polls."The Government employeesand pensioners constitute asizeable voter constituency andthis constituency can be adetermining factor in the elec-toral considerations," he said.
He further appealed to theGovernor's administration toensure timely disbursement oflong pending wages of daily
rated workers, facilitatingthem to celebrate upcomingfestival of Navratras withpeace of mind.
Shastri urged the adminis-tration to set up separate wageheads for regular disbursementof monthly wages of daily ratedworkers till their regularisa-tion, besides amendment inSRO 520, issuancee of regular-isation orders of daily ratedworkers working in RuralDevelopment Department etc.

STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: A three-dayMultimedia Exhibition onSystematic Voters Education &Electoral Participation(SVEEP) organized byRegional Outreach Bureau(ROB), Ministry ofInformation and Broadcasting,Govt. of India concluded here onSunday at Kala Kendra with amusical evening.
The objective of the exhibitionwas to educate voters about theelectoral process in order toincrease their awareness, partic-ipation in electoral process andencouraging new eligible votersfor their enrolment in the elec-toral rolls.
On the concluding day, aworkshop for sensitization ofregistered private troupes was
organized in which Dr AzizHajini Secretary JKAACL wasthe Chief Guest. Neha Jalali,Chand Kishore Sharma, SDMChauki Chaura and MumtazAhmad trainer from CEOOffice Jammu were also pres-ent.
Hajini urged the artists ofROB to enlighten each and
every elector to become a voter.He also visited the DisplayGallery and Audio VisualSegment of the exhibition andtook his photograph in the selfiebooth of the exhibition. He alsovisited the Stalls put up by ChiefElectoral Office, Jammu. LiveDemo of EVM and VVPAT wasthe main attraction of stalls.
Mumtaz Ahmad from CEOOffice Jammu gave live demon-stration of EVM and VVPATmachines for the audience.
Chand Kishore spoke on thetopic New Initiatives of ECI forbetter turn out of voters. RajeshSharma, FPO, ROB, Jammuin his welcome address enlight-ened the audience regardingworking and organization ofROB and regarding aims oforganizing this exhibition.

STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Central Working Committee of Amar Kshatriya(Rajput) Sabha J&K discussed various issues, in a meeting heldhere on Sunday.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of NarayanSingh, President of the Sabha, J&K in which various issues relat-ed to declaration of Gazetted Holiday on September 23 each yearon the Birth Anniversary of Late Maharaja Hari Singh; installa-tion of Maharaja Gulab Singh statue at Kunjwani ChowkJammu; rotation of reserved Assembly seats; organisation mat-ters, formation of Shakha Sabhas and renewal thereof were dis-cussed. The Sabha members unanimously resolved that they willtake up their demands with the Governor Satya Pal Malik forconceding these genuine demands.
