Is making 10th career start and appearance against Mets, his second of 2015, posting a lifetime mark of 2-4 with a 2.63 ERA (54.2 ip/16 er). Has dropped four straight decisions to Mets after coming away victorious in first two starts. In first start against New York this season, took loss after allowing two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out a season-high tying five in 5.0 innings on April 18 at Citi Field. In first start of season, had shortest career start at just 0.2 inning, allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks on April 7 against Atlanta at Marlins Park. The seven runs allowed tied the third-most he has surrendered in a start in his career, behind two eight-run outings: September 17, 2010 at St. Louis and April 18, 2012 at St. Louis.

Following first start, has allowed seven runs (six earned) on 17 hits and five walks with 14 strikeouts over 15.1 innings over three-start stretch (3.52 ERA).

Since breaking into Majors in 2009, has amassed 873 strikeouts, which ranks 10th among National League starters (min. 150 starts). His 8.12 strikeouts/9.0 rank seventh, his 3.40 ERA ranks eighth, while his 968.0 innings rank 13th and 60 wins rank 14th. Prior to last season, his 799.0 innings pitched from 2010-2013 were seventh-most among NL starters, while his 51 wins in that span ranked T8th with Cole Hamels.

Over course of career, has limited opponents to 7.92 hits per 9.0 innings, fourth-fewest in NL (eighth in Majors, min. 150 starts) behind Clayton Kershaw (6.62), Matt Cain (7.45) and Johnny Cueto (7.71).
