CT JACK METER TESTING ADAPTERS

The NEW Marwell Series 200 CT Jacks provide both CT probe points and fused

potential connections.

In July 2000 we introduced the 100 Series of CT- JACKs, basic jacks to help test CTs that

are directly connected to meter sockets without test

switches. They are still available.

Now enhanced with fused potential circuits, the Marwell 200 Series Jacks complete the family. Do you need a special version? Just send us a

sketch. Specials are the norm at Marwell.

TTS ADAPTERS

Marwell’s TTS-Temporary Test Switch is designed to

allow full meter site access of transformer rated meter sites that do not have test switches, including sites with automatic

bypass meter sockets. The Marwell TTS (Temporary Test

Switch) adapter will temporarily place a test switch into the metering circuit. The

meter man will be able to completely test the site using

conventional testing equipment in the same

manner as his/her normal CT rated meter sites.

The TTS adapters are available in three standard models.

TTS-6: Used for meter forms 3s and 4s sites TTS-8: Used for meter forms 5s, 35s and 45s

TTS-13: Used for meter forms 6s and 9s

METER SOCKET VERIFIERS

MST-100

Marwell’s MST-100 is a meter socket tester that is designed to test electric meter sockets for proper wiring prior to setting a kWH meter. Improperly wired meter sockets can be potentially dangerous to the

meter installer. In addition to detecting short circuits, improper grounding and reverse-feed wiring errors associated with the meter

socket, the MST-100 includes an analog meter that displays any current that may be flowing into the load. By following a few simple steps, the

meter installer can use the MST-100 as a tool to verify proper wiring of a meter socket.






METER SOCKET VERIFIERS

Step 1:Align the bottom (load side) blades with the bottom meter socket

jaws and then rock the top blades into the meter socket.All blades should be engaged with the meter socket jaws at this point.

Observe the Fault Lamps on the upper half of the MST-100 Meter Socket Tester. If either one (or both) of the Fault Lamps is (are) glowing DO NOT SET THE METER. This indicates that the corresponding fuse is has opened. The fuse will open if excessive load current is flowing—this can be caused by a normal load over 30 amps, or caused

by a short-circuit. ! NOTE: USE SC30 FUSES ONLY.

If no Fault Lamps are glowing go to step 2

Step 2:Locate the Test Switch at the bottom of the MST-100 Meter Socket Tester face. It is

located at the 6 o'clock position. Make sure all blades are in contact with the meter socket

jaws and then toggle the test switch. If both red Fault Lamps glow upon operation of the Test Switch go to step 3.

IF BOTH FAULT LAMPS DO NOT GLOW DO NOT SET METER.

Step 3:Make sure all the blades are properly plugged into the meter socket jaws. Check

the Amp meter reading.Determine the level that is acceptable by your company for the

meter form that is being installed.If the number of amps exceeds the acceptable level for the meter form factor,

DO NOT SET METER. Otherwise, it is safe to set the meter.

Marwell MST-100 Instructions



Designed to safely apply load to “non-registration” meters. May also be used for “timed load” field meter testing. Light-weight, compact, polycarbonate

construction. The Marwell Load Device is constructed of Poly-Carbonate for durability and safety. Device leads are 42 inches in length and are available with

probes or Mueller clips. Protected by an internal thermal overload switch.

The Marwell Meter Programming Station was designed to provide utility project personnel with a economical way of testing the accuracy of

standard and specialized programs. The unit provides the conventional warm up capability but adds the feature of a load box. A receptacle plug on the station allows you to plug the computer used for programming the

meter into the unit. The laptop provides the load so you can see KHW and KW values as well as volts, amps and harmonics. Marwell supplies the

warm capability and you supply the laptop/load device. !

This is another example of Marwell working with utility partners to designing products that are flexible and cost effective.
