PARISH SECRETARY RETIREMENT: Mary Lane has been secretary of
St. Mary’s & St. Ann’s for 30 years since 1989. Now she is planning on retir-
ing in June 2019. We appreciate her commitment and service to our commu-
nity and we wish her a wonderful retirement. We will like to appoint a new
secretary, if anyone is interested to this post, please submit your resume by end
of February.
ICON: This year the Knights bring the icon dedicated to Our Lady of Perse-
cuted Christian to St. Mary’s. We are all invited to pray for Persecuted Chris-
tians. We thank our brother knights for bringing this icon and helping us to
pray for all Christian brethren who suffer and die for the Christian faith.
Prayer cards are available at the back of the churches.
THANK YOU: We would like to thank Renee & Mary and the Knights for
taking down the Christmas decorations and crib outside. We appreciate the
care they take in keeping our church looking good. St. Ann’s did a beautiful
job of decorating. Thank you to those who set up and put away the decorations.
DEANERY PARISH DISCERNMENT MEETINGS MAY TO NOVEM-
BER 2018:Under the leadership of Bishop Gerard Bergie the diocese began the
parish discernment program which included many parishes working together in
their respective deanery. We had a wonderful sharing experience. There were
some concerns and challenges within all parishes with the hope of improvement
for the future. The main purpose of the diocesan discernment program as
bishop mentioned is to work towards the goal of moving parishes from main-
tenance to mission. We appreciate our parish discernment committee (Lionel
Gagnon, Lee Bowen, Dominic Ross, Mary Lane, Rita Mauro and Fr Victor)
who volunteered to be a part of this core committee. Our committee will meet
on Tuesday, January 15th at 7pm. We will be presenting our plans and pro-
jects pertaining to the needs and concerns of our parish community in the near
future. We look forward for your cooperation. Its we who build our commu-
nity. Thank you for help and support.
