Students will write improper and mixed number fractions.

Review1) You walk 3/10 of a mile to your

friend’s house, and then 5/10 of a mile to school. How far did you walk altogether?

2) Jessica bought 8/9 of a pound of chocolates and ate 1/3 of a pound. How much was left?

Review - Answers1) You walk 3/10 of a mile to your friend’s

house, and then 5/10 of a mile to school. How far did you walk altogether?3/10 + 5/10 = 8/10 = 4/5 of a mile

2) Jessica bought 8/9 of a pound of chocolates and ate 1/3 of a pound. How much was left?8/9 - 1/3 = 8/9 - 3/9 = 5/9 of a pound
