National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, FlorenceNightingale's birthday. Florence Nightingale pursued what she saw as her God-givencalling of nursing. During the Crimean War, she and a team of nurses improved the
unsanitary conditions at a British base hospital, greatly reducing the death count. Herwritings sparked worldwide health care reform, and in 1860 she established St. Thomas'
Hospital and the Nightingale Training School for Nurses. Nurse’s week is a time foreveryone – individuals, employers, other health care professionals, community leaders, and nurses – to recognize the infinite contributions and the positive impact of registered
nurses. Please help us celebrate and take time out to thank our nurses!
