Resurrection Life May 2015 This year we will celebrate the Ascension of our Lord of Thursday May 14. This is truly a day to be celebrated and honored. It is a day to come to the house of God to worship our Lord with great joy, to praise Him for the mission that Jesus has accomplished and for the mission that He has given for us to complete. The mission of our Lord was made very clear when he was named. Jesus is his name, for he shall save his people from their sins. With His death on the cross, His Resurrection from the dead and now His ascension, our Lord has accomplished His mission for which he was sent into the world. He has saved his people from their sins. All evil, all sin, all transgressions, iniquities, moral failures--all has been eliminated by what Jesus did. The mission, to save his people who are all people, from their sins is accomplished. Jesus has removed the barrier that stopped the flow of God's blessings to each of us. Only if we do not believe and trust what Jesus has done would we separate ourselves us from God. Our Lord Jesus has returned to God. That is what this day celebrates: Mission Accomplished. Jesus has saved his people from their sins. So on Ascension Day we celebrate that the Son returns to sit at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He has returned victoriously from whence He came. Mission Accomplished! Now that His Mission is accomplished, there is a Mission for us to Accomplish. This Mission is very simple: repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be preached in Jesus' name to all nations. However, this is a Mission only for those who are witnesses to that repentance and forgiveness in their own lives. Our Lord only asks those who have had their own personal experience of repenting their sins before God and do also have a personal experience of the forgiveness of their sins. He then gives us "power from on high." He gives us the Spirit of God. It takes the frailest and weakest of all of us and gives us the ability to turn the most resistant adversary of God into a friend and lover of God. That is the power he gave His disciples. It is the same power that we receive in the Blessed Meal of our Lord's Supper. However, the devil still prowls, still tries to scare, still tries to get us off where we can be devoured. As such oftentimes we get sidetracked in becoming obsessed on things like such church practices of who should get Holy Communion and who should not, about what kind of worship we should do: traditional, contemporary, or a blended worship (whatever these terms mean). We get caught in traditions which, of course, were not traditions at one time. We get turned on or off by certain words and phases: entertainment evangelism, seeker friendly worship. We are lured to believe God avoid us if we dare clap in church, say an "amen" or two in worship, or dare to have other instruments of music besides the organ and the piano! Look, how quickly we lose focus on the Mission we are to Accomplish. How soon the joy of salvation escapes from our hearts and anxiety enters. How soon we forget that our Lord has accomplished His Mission and paved the way for us to be reconciled to God by grace through faith. How soon our focus is on ourselves, and quickly we assign the responsibility for witness those who do not know the Lord to someone to others. Our Lord has completed His Mission. He now sits at the right hand of God and He will return. Until He returns, we have a Mission to Accomplish! We praise God that we have something to do. We have a Mission to Accomplish, a work to do, a power to unleash in our lives and more joy than we have ever known yet to find! When our Mission to Accomplish is done, we shall then return to be with our Lord forever. Until then, praise God for Jesus! Find joy in salvation! Carry out the work of witness. Peace in Christ, Pastor James Gajadhar 1

Resurrection LifeMay 2015

This year we will celebrate the Ascension of our Lord of Thursday May 14. Thisis truly a day to be celebrated and honored. It is a day to come to the house of Godto worship our Lord with great joy, to praise Him for the mission that Jesus hasaccomplished and for the mission that He has given for us to complete.

The mission of our Lord was made very clear when he was named. Jesus is hisname, for he shall save his people from their sins. With His death on the cross, HisResurrection from the dead and now His ascension, our Lord has accomplished Hismission for which he was sent into the world. Our Lord Jesus has returned to God. That is what this day celebrates: MissionAccomplished. Jesus has saved his people from their sins. So on Ascension Day wecelebrate that the Son returns to sit at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He has returned victoriously from whence He came. Mission Accomplished!

The first Mother’s Day was celebrated in West Virginia in 1912. Mothers were tobe recognized as an important part of our culture and lives. The heart of a mother islike a rare jewel. They love their children during the worst and best of times.

Yet all mothers are not the same. Author and speaker Patsy Clairmont says, “Normalis just a setting on your clothes dryer.” We are all different. She shared that as womenwe may “struggle, fail, start over, and celebrate.” But we are mothers who can loveunlike any other person.

A familiar mother’s day poem written in the early 1900’s is:

M is for the Many things she gave me,O means only that she's growing Old.T is for the Tears she shed to save me,H is for her Heart of purest gold.E is for her Eyes with love light shining,R means Right and Right she'll always be.

Put them all together, they spell MOTHER. A word that means the world to me.
