Societal Problem Defined

Tire blowouts cause 23,000 crashes per year, including 535 fatal accidents, 66 percent of which can be attributed to low tire pressure,

according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.

The NHTSA further states that the operators of 1 out of 3 vehicles are driving with low tire pressure and are unaware of the problem.
