May and June 2015

WELCOME May begins and we are still in the ‘high’ days of Easter and the ‘Alleluias’ punctuate the liturgy and music until Pentecost. Before that, we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension, beginning on Wednesday 13 May. There is a wealth of celebratory music for this feast, not least the second Messiaen Meditation (L’Ascension) on Saturday 16 May, given by Matthew Owens. On Saturday 28 June, the Choir will perform a day’s worth of Gary Davison’s music, in celebration of the release of their disc of his music on that day. The recording will be available for purchase; please see the website nearer the time for details. We hope very much that you will join us when you can.
